Meifod & Vicarage Court is a residential care home, tailoring care provision to support a wide range of needs for people with age related conditions such as poor mobility, general ill-health, or mental needs due to dementia by the fully trained staff team. Situated in a quiet and pretty location in Wrexham, a family run business since October 2019.

Activities are offered in the home with music, crafts and quizzes, as well as external entertainers/musicians booked regularly. Outside patio areas with plants and seating are available.

Lunch and tea service is prepared by Apetito who have teamed up with Wiltshire Farm foods to provide nutritious meals catered for the care home sector. Apetito cater for all dietary and medical needs including malnutrition, dementia, diabetes, and an award-winning dysphagia range.

The home has spacious seating areas and eighty per cent of rooms have en-suites. Two chair lifts access the upper floor and a passenger lift for the lower floor. The home is secure with ample parking.

The home is proud to introduce Ally Cares, a sophisticated artificial intelligence night time monitoring system that uses sound and motion sensors to enable staff to identify residents' needs from anywhere in their room. This cutting-edge technology enhances night time safety and personalises the care by supporting uninterrupted, restful sleep and freeing up staff to deliver more personalised care, by supporting residents at the right time. They also use Nourish Digital Care Planning to record, and plan accurate and personalised care information for residents which saves in administration and is up to date and individualised for each person. Nourish Care integrates with Ally to allow for more accurate documentation.

To be perfectly honest Meifod Care Home is an extremely well-run facility. The staff are always very polite and helpful and treat my mother brilliantly. My mother is always well turned out and looks well nourished with clothes laundered and ironed. There are always snacks and juice available which enables
the residents to be well nourished and hydrated. All in all Meiford Care Home is an excellent place for the elderly and a credit to the care home profession.

When I visited my mum the first thing I noticed was that mum didn't have any teeth in. My mum would never ever be seen without teeth, no one would unless they don't care but my mum does, always does. Mum always prides on how she looks but now my mum has to depend on others. Other people may not care
how they look but my mum will never change. I always have a hard time with management at Meifod. I'm always made to feel like I'm always in the way so when it says visiting is any time, I find in my personal experience to be misleading. I was told today that I may not be able to see my mum and that has upset me and if my mum was told that she couldn't see me again that would kill her.

Both my mum and dad were admitted to Meifod in July after long stays in hospital following falls at home. My mum has dementia and my dad has very limited mobility so, unfortunately, they were unable to return home. This was obviously a very distressing time for me and my parents but the staff at Meifod
have helped to reassure me that they are well looked after and are now starting to settle in.
The staff are all extremely helpful, kind and caring and it is obvious that they treat all the residents with care and respect. I visit twice a week and my parents are both always clean and well dressed. I am kept updated on their wellbeing and informed straight away if they are unwell or need any medical attention.
Whenever I need to contact the staff to discuss anything, they always ensure that my concerns/requests are dealt with and I am made to feel at ease that they will arrange what is required.
I am happy that my parents are safe and well looked after by all the staff at Meifod.

My father was admitted to Meifod in an emergency after my mother his main carer was admitted to hospital. Without exception, every member of staff went out of their way to make his stay as comfortable as possible and I felt supported as a carer/family member. I felt reassured my father was in good hands.

My wife is well looked after in the home. All her needs are seen too, if she needs medical care the doctor or hospital are contacted right away. If she needs anything else they are in touch right away.

Will always answer the door straight away when I take stuff up for my mother. Staff were very friendly when we visited. She always looked clean and tidy, she is 96 years old so must be looked after ok.

The care my husband and I received at the home was the best I have ever known. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband had a very dignified end to his life that he was all down to the staff, from the lady who brought his clothes clean and fresh to the wonderful management. Thank to them all.

As a relative, I have been treated with support, dignity and kindness and I know that they are like tiger mothers and a cub with the way they treat my husband, which is so reassuring.

Unfortunately unable to comment on some of the areas because I have not been in the home because of lockdown, but have regular updates and photos of Mum. She is happy and put on weight. Staff are excellent and I am so glad Mum is well looked after.

Our mum has been in Meifod since September 2020. We are more than happy with the care she is having, because of Covid, we have not been inside but have spoken to a few of the team and they are all very friendly. My mum has told us during a pod visit she is very happy and she loved them all. They have
