Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you for your positive comments regarding our staff team and home environment. We work hard to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of our residents, which includes organising events at the home for their enjoyment. I am glad you found a recent event to have afforded you quality family time with your loved one. Please be assured with regard to toileting support requirements, every resident has an individual care plan detailing their own support needs, preferences, personal hygiene and continence needs. These are reviewed monthly in consultation with residents or more often if required, and colleagues endeavour to work to these plans daily. Please accept our apology that you felt some residents were not attended to in a timely manner when you visited; we will review how we facilitate events in future to ensure this does not become a concern again.

At every HC one home, we encourage all permanent and respite residents to follow good personal hygiene routines and we support and assist where necessary, in some cases residents decline or become distressed and in these cases, we can not force them to bathe or wash. If this is an issue on more than one occasion we review this with the NOK to ensure good continuity of care and more experienced staff members are assigned to the residents care in the hope moving forward a personal hygiene plan can be put in place that the resident is happy with.

As a dedicated care professional who has worked within the learning disability and elderly care sector for over 20 years, Catrin has gained a wealth of experience in providing support to people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.
Catrin closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Llys Newydd. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Catrin remarked: “Making a difference in Residents' lives in their twilight years”
Outside of work, Catrin enjoys spending quality time with her family and three dogs; a Collie called Poppy, a Cocker Spaniel called Sionny and a Black Labrador called Steve.
