For 5 years my father was cared for with loyalty, dignity and professionalism.


Staff were exceptionally kind to us all and they will always be remembered by our family.

Llys Newydd Care Home is a wonderful well run home with excellent staff.
They have made my grandfather feel welcome and helped him settle into what he now knows as his home.
The staff keep me regularly updated with his health and any changes. I have no doubt that they have his best interests at heart.

My mother was a resident at Llys Newydd for around 4 years and during that time, she was content and well cared for. I was always treated by both staff and management in a friendly, welcoming way.
Early in December, my mother's condition deteriorated and she died in their care. We were with her at
the time of her death and cannot thank enough the young carer on duty that night for her compassion and support to us.


Please pass on out gratitude to the staff of Llys Newydd.

Looking for long term stay. This home was the first we visited. Immediately felt a good atmosphere, with caring staff. Since the resident has been here, he has been kept clean and tidy. The most impressive things are the activities on offer. Daily orientation that offers good stimulation. We visit regularly
and are very impressed with how clean the home is and all the clients appear well cared for and content.

A friendly and efficient way. Residents very contented and happy. Relatives delighted with the care given. Very able and friendly staff. Visitors were welcomed and offered tea when residents partook. My wife being one of the residents and an ex-nursing sister never complained.

I could not be happier with the care that my mother is receiving at Llys Newydd Care Home. Every carer treats her with respect, dignity, and concern. As a career nurse, my mother has very high standards of nursing care. She is happy in the home and her health has improved considerably during her time
there.
As well as the personal care she has received, I am also impressed by the activities offered at the home for the Residents' recreation. It seems there are varied and frequent recreational activities, which help with the mental health of the residents. I was able to meet Robbie the Pony today, who came into the lounge to visit with everyone.
I should also mention the sunny disposition of the carers. They seem happy in their jobs, and nothing is too much trouble for them. That translates to a positive atmosphere throughout the home, which is comforting to those of us who have a loved one there.
I am grateful that my mam is in a place worthy of her. What more could I ask for?

Everything about Llys Newydd is first class, from the first welcome at the front door to the food and of course, the care. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are clearly dedicated to ensuring that everyone is comfortable, secure and happy. My mum has only been there a short while but the difference
in her posture and alertness is staggering. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Llys Newydd very highly indeed.

On entering a care home residents must realise that they are part of the community and must behave as such. Selfish self centred behaviour cannot be tolerated. Remember that the care home is there to help you, but you must do as much as you can to help yourself. It is a good choice at the end of your
day when you cannot look after yourself.

Mam has settled well into daily life at Llys Newydd Care Home have over the last year. The care is very good monitoring her weight regularly, which was very low on entry after a hip fracture. The food is very good with an excellent chef. The lounge is always spotlessly clean and warm all the time, it
is a large pleasant room with triple aspect and sun shining in all day. The care home was very accommodating to us last week when the family got together to celebrate mum's 90th Birthday. The facilities for tea and coffee were set up for us in the dining room and a cake was baked by the chef for all the residents.

This care home, in a word, wonderful. The staff are very compassionate, experienced, professional and very approachable. They provide a very clean, well ordered and modern facility. The food is excellent and they do their utmost to provide a superb level of care.

My sister has been a resident for one year and nine months. I'm that time she has settled down well. All the staff are kind and attentive. The food is varied. There will always be minor niggles in a home but these have all been dealt with promptly and do not cause a problem. I could never thank the
staff for their care of my sister as it is something i could not do myself. All the staff are hard working and look after the residents in their care.

Home Manager at Llys Newydd, Capel Hendre


What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?
“For me, kind care is treating each person with kindness in everything you do every day”


As a dedicated care professional who has worked within the learning disability and elderly care sector for over 20 years, Catrin has gained a wealth of experience in providing support to people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Catrin closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Llys Newydd. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Catrin remarked: “Making a difference in Residents' lives in their twilight years”


Outside of work, Catrin enjoys spending quality time with her family and three dogs; a Collie called Poppy, a Cocker Spaniel called Sionny and a Black Labrador called Steve.
