Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

Ty Newydd is the worst community setting I have ever been placed in.
It often smells offensive and is dirty, and is poorly maintained with frequent requests for maintenance repairs which are neglected for months at a time.
Safeguarding procedures are not adhered to and all the current service users
are deteriorating (the service is currently under investigation).
A few staff are friendly and empathetic, but on the whole, they are lacking in either the training, the experience, or the inclination to support clients to rehabilitate, which is a real shame because the house has so much potential: spacious rooms with en-suites in a lovely location near to many local amenities.
If you would like to be treated with dignity/respect/compassion and to not be constantly judged, labelled, or denied the support you need to overcome your mental health problems, I urge you not to reside here at any cost.

Reply from Leanne Provoost, HR and Operations Coordinator at Ty Newydd

Thank you for taking the time to bring your experience to our attention, our aim is to provide the best possible care to those we support and it is something we take very seriously. We are sorry that you feel the experience did not meet your expectations.
We do not have any record of any formal complaint being made, a senior member of the management team is available to discuss this further and will be in contact in due course.
We would however like to clarify that the service is not currently under any form of investigation and maintenance plans are in place with reactive maintenance issues dealt with on an ongoing basis as they arise.
