Mayflower Care Home, formerly known as LLwynallt Care Home was established in 1982 and has undergone an extensive refurbishment to the highest standard. Mayflower Care Home can now provide accommodation for up to 43 residents (single en-suite rooms, double en-suite rooms and companion rooms all available to a very high standard). The Home provides full-time personal residential care for the elderly and also respite and day care.

Mayflower Care Home is located in a beautiful part of the country and residents enjoy panoramic views to the surrounding countryside yet the Home is within easy reach of such towns as Swansea (less than 5 miles) and Neath (less than 5 miles). Therefore clients can enjoy the peaceful and tranquil setting but still be in close proximity to family and loved ones.

The main focus is on providing care for the residents based on their individual needs and to provide them with as much choice as possible. You can be fully assured that the residents receive the best care possible as all care assistants are trained in-house, not only to comply with the required national standards, but to the Home's own exacting standards.

Residents can enjoy a wide variety of activities with the Homes in house activities co-ordinator. There is also a bespoke Salon area that has recently been installed as well as providing a range of beauty treatments. The Home also has an internet and library area where residents are free to contact loved ones or to have a quiet moment to themselves whilst reading a good book! Residents can also enjoy the newly refurbished garden area, cinema room, café and pub!

It's lovely, clean, modern and well presented. Lovely setting, great views of the valley. Ample parking for visitors. Minibus for days out. The staff are very attentive, we always feel very welcome. Good facilities and good entertainment.

Mum hasn't been here long, she has settled really quickly and really well. My mind is always at ease knowing my mum is happy and well looked after. The staff are really brilliant and always make you feel welcome as if you are part of the family.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website, I hope that it answers any questions you may have but if you need anything else at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.


I understand that you may have reservations about your loved one going into a Care Home at this time, especially with the recent Pandemic. However, the sector has come a really long way over the last 18 months and we are in a much stronger position now and have a lot of protocol in place to keep our amazing residents happy and safe. All of our staff have been double vaccinated and we have weekly Covid testing in place where our staff carry out two LFD tests and one PCR test (Covid tests), every week. Daily temperature checks and screening questionnaires are also in place and we only allow essential visits to the Home (such as District Nurses, GP’s and other visiting professionals). All visitors have to undergo a Covid test as well as temperature checks and screening questions.


We are working very closely with the local council and Public Health Wales and we believe that we now have a very safe and happy Home for our residents.
