We are very happy with the care. My sister-in-law has only been in Bridge House for a month, initially just for respite, she felt so comfortable, safe and content that she wishes to stay there permanently. The staff are very good with her and she says the food is lovely and if there is a meal she doesn't
like they will always give her an alternative meal.

I do not have any experience of care homes and you see some horror stories on TV but I have been more than happy with my mother's care in Bridge House. The carers seem to be a tight knit unit with plenty of laughs thrown in. Most of them are local to where my mother grew up so that gives a reassuring
familiarity.
The management are very approachable and friendly and are open to suggestions to improve my mother's care.

It was very upsetting for Mum and me when she had to go into care. After a few weeks, Mum settled in lovely. She said she felt happy, contented and safe. The management and staff are very caring and considerate. Nothing is too much trouble. There is a lovely atmosphere there, and we, as a family, are
always made welcome. The home is clean, and Mum always looks very lovely. Lots of laughter. Highly recommended!

Management and staff all very helpful and understanding. The way in which they have dealt with myself, my mother and grandmother have made it much easier to deal with the difficult and wrenching decision to place my grandmother in a care home. Even while undergoing a change in management, the service
was exemplary and without hassle.

I am extremely pleased with the care Mum has received since entering Bridge House Care Home. The staff are extremely caring and go out of their way to ensure Mum's needs are met. As family members, we always receive a warm welcome and are fully involved in Mum's care. There is such a lovely atmosphere
and plenty of laughter which I particularly like. If any difficulties arise, and we have had none, they are dealt with promptly and in a professional manner. I am extremely grateful to everyone who works at Bridge House and would like to say a big thank you. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My 91-year-old mother went into Bridge House after nearly six months in and out of hospital, due to constantly falling at home and with the quick progression of dementia this meant she was unable to return home for me to look after her as I had previously been doing. It was a difficult decision accepting
this initially, but from the first visit there, all my worries and concerns were put to rest as everyone who works there genuinely care about the residents. My mam is happy, has settled in well and there are different activities each week to keep everyone entertained and occupied. The building is spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Mam's room is a good size, comfortable with plenty of natural light. Communication is excellent and I have always been kept fully informed of anything that has happened from the first day she arrived in October 2022. Words cannot express how grateful I am to all staff for the extremely high standard of care, dignity and respect my mam receives there.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.872)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.872) out of 10 for Bridge House Residential and EMI Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.678 for Bridge House Residential and EMI Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.678

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.194 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bridge House Residential and EMI Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.694

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
