Ashton Park Residential Home is a large detached two-story building located in a residential area in Newport City Centre. The home is registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to provide accommodation and personal care for 18 older people.

High standards of care are aspired 24 hours a day with fully qualified and trained staff towards maintaining a warm, pleasant and homely atmosphere.

My aunt has been a resident for almost 22 years. The care she receives is of a high standard and all staff are fully aware of her needs. Many activities take place on a regular basis keeping all the residents happy and engaged. Keep up the good work.

My mum is very happy at Ashton Park Care Home. The staff are very caring, helpful and fun. I visit regularly and am always made welcome. Mum has gained all the weight she lost before becoming a resident. The food is excellent, freshly cooked ingredients and all the things Mum enjoys. Mum loves having
her hair and nails done every week. Her clothes are immaculate which is so important to her, Mum loves clothes. Mum is treated with respect and dignity, she has a choice of time to get up/go to bed, what to wear, what to eat, personal belongings in her room. Her room is spotless. The staff now know her well and recognise immediately if she is not herself. Communication between staff, health and myself is excellent. I looked at several homes before Mum came to Ashton Park and I am so glad she became a resident here, she has become one of the big family.

My aunty has always been treated excellently while in the home, nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff are always friendly and caring, going above and beyond their role to ensure she is happy and her needs and wishes are met.

My friend says it's comfortable living here. The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. She loves living here. When I visit the staff are always helpful to us and welcoming. My friend is brought a drink when we visit. The home always seems clean and my friend seems well cared for.

They are all friendly and I feel safe. The food is really good, I have a choice. My bedroom is good, my own pictures are on the wall. My clothes are kept nice and clean. I love having my hair done every week. People listen to me. I get up when I want or go to bed when I want.

Dad has Alzheimer's and came to the home in February 2024. He had problems settling and wanted to leave at first. The staff were amazing and dealt with his worries with kindness and reassurance. We went through a time where he felt unsafe and again with reassurance we seem to be making good progress.
He now seems settled and loves the staff to bits. I feel really reassured that any problems will be dealt with sympathetically.

Ashton Park came into our lives when we needed them the most and my mum's health deteriorated. With love and care and with the help of the doctors my mum's health stabilised and has kept her well looked after. They have consistently kept us up to date with Mum's health and her needs. The team here is
really good and we wouldn't want her in any other place.

I visited numerous homes to place Mum in to but found a very warm welcome here. Staff are very friendly and management very professional. Mum has a lovely big room with beautiful views over the park. Mum thinks the food is fantastic, can't fault it at all. The staff are very attentive and help Mum all
the time.

I was in hospital looking for a care home to live in. The last one was very disappointing. On the Monday I went to view another home - but hated it. I rang my social worker. I was really upset. 20 minutes later a really sweet lady came to me. She said she managed a care home and said it was near the
hospital. What a wonder surprise! Nice room and the staff are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is good. I am so happy!

It was never going to be an easy decision to arrange for my Mum to move into a care home but, I feel grateful each day that I chose Ashton Park. Mum has lived there for the last 7 months and I have consistently found the staff to be kind, compassionate, understanding, professional, and hard-working.
My Mum always looks well cared for and her care plan is updated regularly with staff communicating with me about her needs, wishes, and healthcare. Despite the unfortunate restrictions that the pandemic has placed on visits, staff always do their very best to accommodate me seeing her taking into account my work pattern. It was Mum's 85th birthday last week and I couldn't be there and I received videos of her opening my gifts, photos of the little party they laid on for her, and I was able to speak to her on the phone with lots of encouragement and help from staff that she needed in order to do so. My deepest thanks go to Ashton Park. You're all angels.

Ashton Park have been looking after my mum for almost 2 years. The staff are absolutely fantastic and nothing is ever too much trouble. I have complete peace of mind knowing she is being so well looked after, being kept warm, well-fed, safe, and in the presence of fantastic carers 24 /7. They keep me
