Florence Justice Christian Residential Home

A Big part of my day is working with the care staff to support our residents with their individual needs, which means making sure their care plans match their changing needs, and reviewing care plans regularly which helps us spot any patterns/concerns with residents’ care. Referring to relevant agencies.

Person-centred care planning helps us ensure that we are providing the best possible care and the right environment for our residents. Every day is different and as a Manager, I have to be ready for anything and everything.

I like to start my day by speaking to every resident and checking on their wellbeing. I work daily across the Home Teams and with lots of different care professionals. We Managers have regular care meetings where we discuss the care and support needs of the residents and how we can best meet the very best outcomes for each one respectively. Performance and standards of care are also a huge consideration for us, and we coordinate and discuss staff training and support.

I’ve been caring for people since I was sixteen and I absolutely love it. I feel very privileged to be in a position where I can make a positive difference to people’s lives.

I am a very sociable and happy person in my role as Assistant Manager. I believe I interact very well with the residents and family and we are always having a giggle or two. I pride myself on establishing strong professional relationships with health professionals and other outside agencies, who support our teams to provide the best care for our amazing residents.

I am responsible for the safe Administration and Management of our medication systems in our Home and work closely with our Training Officer Bethan to ensure all staff are comprehensively trained in this area of practice.

I have over 30 years of professional experience in taking care of individuals. I have worked at Florence Justice since 2009 and previously at other residential and community care settings. I have a professional QCF 3 in Health and Social Care and undertake about 30 courses a year at Florence Justice in order to remain current and up-to-date with the information, knowledge and skills I need to ensure I do the best job at supporting our Care Manager and our Quality Assurance Manager. in maintaining the high standards in our Home.

One of my proudest achievements was in my early thirties- it was passing my driving test. I was extremely anxious but managed to achieve this. My son was small at the time and I knew I had to do this so I could get him to the afterschool activities he wanted to attend. I'm a very determined lady.

My own particular ethos which I apply to my role as Assistant Care Manager is, that you treat every individual as you would yourself would like to be treated; with respect and empathy and to remember that everyone has feelings. Being mindful and thoughtful in the way you communicate is very important and how we can impact people's lives by being positive in our demeanour and attitude. We should always aim to make a positive difference to people.

I have recently returned to Florence Justice Care Home. I worked here previously as a Health Care Assistant from 2017 until 2021. I have worked for around 8 years in the Health and social care sector.

I have spent my time expanding my knowledge and experience of caring for people by working in the nursing sector. It is nice to return to Florence and apply my learned skills in a very Senior role.

My Managers and care staff say I am very good at my job and I have a great deal of responsibility. The staff look to me daily to organise the day and prioritise the care people receive, and I do this fully supported by the guidance given by my Managers. I like to lead, guide, teach and advise staff on best practices and I am a very good listener. I consider myself approachable and am more than happy to help and support both are dedicated teams and the amazing individuals who live in our Home.
I have achieved a QCF level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, a level 2 in hairdressing and also a level 2 in animal care. I am proud of my academic achievements, I am also proud to have passed my driving test and gained the higher qualification care. I have also recently completed my three-month-long 'in-house' safe medication administration training at Florence Justice so am fully qualified in the administration of medication.

I find it an absolute honour to care for all the residents who live at Florence Justice. I like to follow the saying ' treat the residents as you would want your own parents treated.'- with dignity and the most respect. I strive for the residents in supporting them to make the most of each day and in creating for them and their families, lots of happy memories of their life here.

I take the greatest pride in my role as a Shift Leader at Florence Justice. I have worked at Florence Justice since September 2014 so am very experienced with taking care of people in a communal setting.

My job is to lead, guide and teach less experienced staff in good care practices and procedures. I also assume the role of Champion for infection control within the Home so, it is my responsibility to audit regularly our Home and staff practices to ensure we are complainant with all health and safety legislation and best practice guidelines. I enjoy my role very much.

I have many qualifications as Florence Justice is a teaching Home so we are consistently upskilling and expanding our knowledge in all areas concerning the care of people. I have two formal qualifications QCF 2 and QCF 3 in Health and Social Care. Achieving to a high standard in these qualifications is something I am very proud of.

People often think caring for people is easy but you have to be very educated in correct procedures and protocols.

It is a great deal more complex than you would imagine.

My approach to my role and why I chose to work in the care sector is I enjoy ensuring every aspect of people's care meets their own personal expectations. Everyone is very different and understanding that how you care for one will not necessarily be how another person chooses to be cared for, is the most important aspect of being a care professional. I really do pride myself on treating everyone as an individual and meeting the specific needs of the people living at Florence Justice.

I have worked in care for many years and worked previously at Florence Justice. I returned here in February 2023. Over the years I have gained much experience and I genuinely care about how people feel about themselves.

It is important to me people are happy. I keep in mind my own parents and daily consider, How would I like my parents and family to be treated by others?' I know I would want the best possible care and treatment for them. That's how we care here at Florence Justice and why I love working here. We all share the same common goals across the teams and work closely together to create the best place to live ( and work, of course :) )

I have completed QCF Health and Social Care levels 2 & 3 and have much experience at the Senior Care level. I am also fully trained in the administration of medication.

My proudest achievement is my gorgeous children.

I believe I can make a very positive difference to the role of Health Care Assistant, by incorporating my maternal and caring nature as a mother and as a daughter.

I have been involved with the running of Florence Justice since 1991 when my family-in-law first opened it. I have assumed various roles over the years and when covid came about and our accounts manager was forced to isolate I found myself managing the finances.

The Home is extremely well run. We have excellent Managers and I am very proud of the achievements made in taking care of people.

I have worked in care for 24 years and have been in Florence Justice since 2010. I am firstly a care assistant at Florence Justice but I also take a part in the Laundry and housekeeping within the Home. I have a QCF 5 in Health and Social Care.

I am a very kind-hearted person and I care very much about people. My proudest achievement is my children and obtaining my level 5 in Health and Social care. I believe I am good at my job and make a positive difference in the lives of our dear residents. I believe that at no matter what age you are, you have a right to a good quality of care and life.

I am an enthusiastic individual with great professionalism and a good team spirit. Open to good opportunities to develop myself and contribute to the organisation's mission and vision. I am highly passionate about improving the lives of people I take care of and meeting their every need.

I have achieved many great things. I have a Master's Degree in food and risk management and pride myself on a good work ethic and positive approach to teamwork.

My particular interests are in providing compassionate care, respecting dignity and autonomy and ensuring the health and safety of the residents. I have just spent 12 weeks at Florence Justice learning how to correctly and safely administer medication. I am now deemed competent and feel this is an amazing achievement. I have learnt lots of skills during my time at Florence. Managers take an interest in the staff's professional development and this supports me to feel confident in my role.

My particular interests are in caring for others and I feel it is a privilege.

I am Ayo Williams and I am Nigerian. I love football and the outdoors. I consider myself good at my job because I have the ability to connect and communicate with my colleagues and the people I take care of.

I have a B.sc in pure applied psychology and at Florence, I am a safeguarding champion.

My proudest achievement is for me to know that I am improving my now-chosen field of health and social care. I am very organised and thorough in all areas of my role. I hate muddles and need to work in a very tidy and clean environment.

I am a qualified RGN nurse and have 25 years working as a qualified nurse in hospital environments and 5 years in a care home.

My proudest moment is in gaining my nursing qualifications, as a mature student, caring for my husband who lived with a life-limiting illness.

My name is Michael and I have a great love of sport and music. I am always smiling and singing.

I am a huge people person and have lots of experience in communication and in delivering a warm and friendly care service.

I have worked in Florence Justice since 2023 and love my job! I have previous care experience working with people who live with mental health challenges.

I love to make people smile and enjoy seeing happy faces and having lots of fun and great conversations. I am working very hard to improve myself and get lots of support from my Managers, colleagues and the training team at Florence Justice.

I'm someone who gets immense satisfaction from helping people and also working alongside others to achieve a common goal or task. Over the years, I have built a lot of skills and experience in a healthcare role including genuine empathy, and understanding of residents, I feel I have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt my style of communication to suit an audience. I feel I have excellent teamwork capabilities and also a positive attitude towards life in general.

I have worked within the care sector for six years gaining experience within the health and social care sector in Ghana, and 8 months in the UK.

I have gained a BSE in midwifery and have worked within this sector in the community of Grana.

My proudest achievement would be that I trained new employees for over two months in the year 2022 when practising as a midwife at the Korle Teaching Hospital in Grana.

My ethos and particular interest in care is that I enjoy making a positive difference in their lives. I enjoy being an active member of my community and helping people.

I am a Nigerian, and I love helping those in need as this gives me joy and satisfaction I have the privilege to proffer solutions to people's problems and back in my country being a legal practitioner. I practised Law for nine years in Nigeria and here in the UK, I have been in the Health care sector for over six months. Experience within the care sector I have six months of experience.

Previous qualifications gained are - Barrister at Law (BL), Bachelor of Law (LLB), I have a Bachelor degree in Law, called to our Nigerian Bar and I also have a postgraduate diploma in Corporate management law (PGDCAL).

My Proudest achievement is passing my bar final exams and also adapting to my new chosen field of health care. It is a great achievement for me to find myself in an organisation like Florence Justice where the management is very supportive aid ready to train staff to attain profession set goals.

My proudest achievements are some of my positive impact working at Flo Jo, I make sure I work with my team to make the residents feel comfortable at Flo Jo and also give reassurance to those residents who are sometimes confused.

I started at Florence Justice in October 2019, I like to organise my workload and make sure that everything is in the right place and make a good team as a person. I have 27 years of experience within the care sector.

I am a bubbly person, I enjoy catering for people and I love my job. I have over two years of experience in the care sector but thirty years in catering. I have gained NVQs.
