Greenhill has been purpose-built to provide residential care packages and also welcomes adults with Parkinson’s disease and a dementia diagnosis. Packages are individualised for each resident, taking account of respite, convalescence and palliative needs.

Accommodation in this modern care home is set across one floor providing good wheelchair access. Rooms are bight, spacious and comfortable offering a positive interior for the lives of older people. Landscaped gardens are popular during the summer and there is a choice of social areas. Residents can benefit from the homes close locality to the local shops and bus routes.

Greenhill Care Home staff and management have achieved a transformation in my mother's wellbeing and mental health following admission in December 2021.
Prior to admission she was in a difficult situation and was very anxious.
Due to dementia my mother had lost significant cognition and many abilities.
However, their person centred approach means she expresses her wishes. They are responsive to her changing needs and innovative so she can still take delight in expressing the creativity that she has always valued.
Recently it was great to see my mother bantering with the staff with repartee that is clearly frequent. I also liked that the staff let Mam take the lead in this.
She has chronic physical needs that require management and the staff are very good at this. One long standing condition has even improved.
Mam told me last week "I am happier here than I have been in years, and Greenhill is my home."
The staff have enabled me to feel supported by their compassion, positivity and good humour. They are enthusiastic about suggestions I make too.
Their continued liaison with the social worker and me has been crucial to ensure Mam is supported to make capacitated decisions and retains some control.

Since the new manager (sixth in five years) was appointed things seem cheerier and the staff (old and new) seem more of a team. The care of my friend has improved. Particularly manual handling (after an earlier informal concern when staff pulled my friend out of her seat by her hands and proceeded to
pull her off to lunch with another staff member who pushed her bottom. I was at the time shocked). Methods of moving a woman in her 80s with visual impairment have improved greatly. I still maintain the home needs contrasting colours to enable people with poor vision to help find/recognise where they are. Lastly, top marks to the activities organiser and Jubilee invite.

I live too far away to visit frequently, due to having to self-isolate. My recent contact with the home has been by phone. I have always found the staff to be most helpful, and they have contacted me with any urgent issues about my sister ie a transfer to the hospital after a fall and her subsequent
return. On an earlier visit, the home has always looked very well tended.

My high opinion of Greenhill continues. My mother has been a resident for six years and continually reassures us not to worry about her and that she is perfectly happy. In fact, I think that the last six years have been some of her most contented - amongst friendly and caring staff. This month, Mum
has had her 102nd Birthday, and although we couldn't visit, we were able to talk to her on the phone and we have revived photos of the day. Greenhill excels at there personal touches. This family is extremely grateful to the 'family' of Greenhill.

There is a problem finding and keeping an activities coordinator, which is a great loss.
I've marked food and drink as satisfactory due to my mother being a vegetarian and fussy.
Although everyone does their best, there is not a full-time cook, with a dietary understanding.
I would like to say
how wonderful all the staff are, especially during this very difficult time.

My mother-in-law went into Greenhill Care Home in March for 4 weeks respite care. When we arrived at the home the staff were very friendly and efficient. They wanted to unpack her clothes so that they could list what was there and where they put it. The handover was very professional and made me feel
confident in them. The home has a very homely feel. My mum-in-law enjoyed the activities and thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

I have had wonderful support from all the staff ar Greenhill as well as providing my mother with compassion and support through her transition from living independently to moving into a home. The staff have gone above and beyond in their care eg enabling my mother to live video feed her granddaughter's
wedding.
The staff have been extended family, not just to mum but also to me when I was unwell. Thank you.

This is very early days as we are only a week into mum's residence. Overall the whole family are very pleased with mum's progression and the staff seem very pleased with her settling.
Overall she has been made very welcome and comfortable. All the staff have put us at ease too and are always willing

We were given a very warm welcome by the manager and his staff. The manager ensured that my father-in-law's room was freshly decorated with finishing 'homely' touches. We were given a thorough and comprehensive introduction to the home and staff are more like family than employees. The reception area
is a little tired, however, the quality of the service is exemplary!

My mother has been in Greenhill for 18 months. The staff are very kind and considerate and there have been very few changes so my mother's care is consistent. It is always clean in her room and in communal areas. The activities are very good. I hope that Powys and Bupa will make long-term arrangements
as long-term investment will be needed soon. The home is very welcoming to us and helped us over a difficult period.

All rooms should be ensuite. More recliners needed in the lounge. Should have designated cook who understands dietary requirements, diabetic, vegetarian etc. Staff are very cheerful and caring. Overall my mother is very happy there.

Coming into work feels like being with family and I get to meet some really fantastic and interesting people. I have been given lots of training opportunities and have become an in-house trainer for manual handling and 'how do I know you' dementia training.
