The Grove offers a relaxed and calm environment and is well equipped for the needs of older people. Individualised care plans are available ranging from respite and convalescence to dementia care and long term care.

Set within the beautiful countryside close to the Brecon Beacons National Park, The Grove provides a welcoming and warm environment as well as a high standard of accommodation. All bedrooms are attractively decorated and visitor accommodation is available for family and friends.

Alongside freshly cooked, nutritionally-balanced meals, the chef caters for individual tastes and diets. Homemade cake is always served at afternoon tea.

The home’s own activity co-ordinator plays a vital role in ensuring residents have the opportunity to pursue hobbies or interests as well as enjoy visiting entertainers, bingo and quizzes. Trips out to places of local interest are also organised regularly.

This is a general review of the home since my mother went to live there. Not sure of the year, but more than two years. I visit nearly every day.

We hadn't realised how depressed & withdrawn Mum had become until she went to live in The Grove. She has mild dementia, but since moving in she remembers so much more and is so much happier. She has always been a fiercely independent woman in spite of being registered disabled before she was 50, and
had worked hard in the voluntary sector locally, so we were sad to see how withdrawn she had become. In the Spring she had a fall in her warden controlled flat, and it was more than 5 hours that she was on the floor, confused and very dehydrated before I found her. Although she hadn't broken anything, she spent around 6 weeks in hospital. Happily, at the end of that time she agreed that she needed to go into a 'home'. My niece and I visited The Grove, and decided within 10 minutes it was the place for her. We have never regretted our decision. We have our Mum back!


The home is light, warm & welcoming to everyone. We can visit whenever we like and are always welcomed by staff and residents so that it always feels like a pleasure when I go in 3 times a week. Mum's room is lovely and the ratio of carers to residents is really good with the 'carers' living up to their name! They work hard to keep the residents as mobile as possible and I have never heard a cross word from one of them. I have been so impressed by the level of care that I have recommended The Grove to a lot of other people
