Llwyn Teg has been purpose built and designed to offer a high standard of care and accommodation. A team of friendly and experienced professionals are on hand to offer 24 hour, individual based care for short or long term needs as well as providing expert care to people who are living with dementia.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside close to the town of Llanfyllin, the home benefits from many local amenities. The landscaped garden with its patio, sensory garden and vegetable and herb patch is enjoyed by many on warmer days.

The chef gets to know each resident’s nutritional needs when they move into the home to ensure that the daily menu suits everyone’s tastes. A Nite Bite menu is available between 6.30pm and 6.30am if residents have extra food preferences.

The home arranges at least one monthly themed event which is tailored to residents’ abilities so that everyone can enjoy it. Llywyn Teg has a dedicated activity co-ordinator who arranges other regular activities for residents to benefit from such as canal trips and pampering sessions.

I was in the orthopaedic hospital having surgery for a replacement knee. My husband has dementia and is registered partially sighted and is 94. With no one at home to take care of him during my absence the Manager said he could go to Llwnn Teg Care Home for respite care until I was able to look after
him. He was very happy and was well looked after. In fact, he was reluctant to come home.

Dad's initial behaviour was challenging due to misprescribing of his medication prior to his arrival. The management and staff were able to cope with this adverse behaviour until his correct medication was prescribed.

I feel very fortunate that my 98-year-old mum is at Llwyb Teg. The staff are very friendly and caring. When I as Mum if she is happy, she always replies that she is content and feels very safe at Llwyn Teg.
Lately, there has been a change in the manager, and I feel it is important to clarify that
the "acting manager" is far more approachable than the previous. In fact, the last one was very abrupt and blunt, and during the Covid restrictions, it was not what we needed!

I could not have been more pleased with the care my father received here. The staff are so attentive and caring. We are kept well informed and made welcome on our frequent visits. The staff have worked so hard towards accommodating my father and making him feel welcome during his stay here. I would
highly recommend Llwyn Teg Care Home to anyone.

Mum is a resident of Llwyn Teg Care Home and loves living here. Before living here mum had lost her confidence living alone and struggling to care for herself. However, it's now like having mum back again. She is once again happy and confident.

My mum moved into Llwyn Teg in November 2021 because with her dementia issues mum was not able to look after herself even though mum had carers coming in twice a day. Mum now looks the best that she has for a very long time, As soon as mum moved into Llwyn Teg we noticed a difference in mum's appearance
and she is now well-kempt, putting on some much-needed weight and looks well. Mum enjoys the company of the other residents and enjoys the activities that are arranged for the residents. The manager is very helpful and will make time to discuss with us any issues that we have, she is a ‘hands-on manager’ that supports her staff and is often found doing roles that you wouldn’t expect. The staff themselves seem happy in their work and are very focused on the care of their residents.

Llwyn Teg is a lovely home. My room is very comfortable and meets all my needs.
The staff are very kind and look after me well.
Wish I could see my family more they live in Welsh Pool. Visiting time is too short.
I enjoy the company of the staff and residents.

I came here on respite but am here to stay.

I was most impressed with the home the first time I walked in. There was a buzz about the place and staff were most welcoming. My mother settled in straight away and was made to feel at ease by the helpful caring staff. All her needs are catered for and it's like home from home. I have no worries about
her care and this gives me great peace of mind that I made the right decision in choosing Llwyn Teg for my mother.

Llwyn Teg care staff were always welcoming to any families/visitors and kept residents entertained with bingo (which my mother had never played before!). There were ball games for exercise and trips out were a firm favourite entertainment. There were two little rooms which we used for any private conversations
(pre-Covid). We, as family, were always informed if there were any problems.
