Llys Hafren offers a range of care plans for short or long term needs. Staff have been trained to provide individualised 24 hour care in a professional and caring manner while focusing on the independence and dignity of each resident. The home offers excellent facilities to care for people with Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s and those who are living with dementia.

Llys Hafren Care Home has a friendly feel and welcomes residents to bring their own small possessions for decoration. Bedrooms are pleasantly furnished and decorated and for peace of mind all rooms are fitted with a 24 hour call system. The landscaped garden with a water feature provides the perfect setting to relax or socialise with guests and visitors.

The home’s menu includes fresh seasonal ingredients which are prepared by the in house chef. The menu changes daily and hot and cold choices are always on offer.

Life at Llys Hafren includes groups for residents to take part in which includes gardening, bird watching and reading groups, as well as additional therapies that residents can access. Residents are encouraged to continue their own interests and hobbies and take part in local outings.

All the staff are caring and attentive to the needs of residents. Mum is happy and treated with dignity. She has a spacious sunny room and enjoys all the activities arranged by the staff from sing-a-longs, bingo, quizzes, crafts plus the occasional trip out. The home is welcoming and friendly. I would
recommend to anyone seeking residential care.

Having lived in her current home for 69 years it was a great upheaval for Mum to move into a care home.
However, she has only been there for over a month and she has settled in well. The care and attention she has received has been excellent. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make
her comfortable and content.

The staff are, what makes the care home what it is; they all work very hard to keep the resident's spirits up and always show compassion and care in the way they support them.
They make a huge effort to put on entertainment and activities as well as events for friends and family to join in.

My brother's room needs decorating and a new carpet has a large bleach stain on it, which have requested. Also needs high dusting - cobwebs in the window and on the ceiling.

My brother's room badly needs redecorating and also has a very stained carpet (bleach stains) which needs replacing. Have requested twice through his social worker. His room is very shabby. Comments have been made by his visitors. Also cleaning is questionable!

Mum has only been here a week, but has settled extremely well. In her words, everyone here is very friendly. Having come out of hospital, the staff are already managing to get her to start walking again and building up her confidence.
It has put my mind at rest knowing that Mum is somewhere she is
safe, looked after, cared for and treated as part of a big family.

Mum has been so happy as a resident of Llys Hafren Care Home since November 2022, the staff are so loving and caring with Mum, making her feel loved and special. She has enjoyed all the activities and readily participated in them. In the later weeks since Mum's decline, the staff have gone above and
beyond to make sure Mum is comfortable and loved. Their compassion for Mum and myself, especially in the last few weeks, has been wonderful and I appreciate everything they are doing. A very big thank you, to you all.

All staff are always approachable and friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The friendly atmosphere is not only a must for residents but also for loved ones and family to see and hear.
The residents aren't just residents, they are part of a loving and caring extended family.

My father has been in care at this home for the last several months. He has settled in well. He is impressed by the cleanliness and always remarks on this when I visit. The staff are friendly and obviously caring. Dad is also completely happy with the food, that is another thing he remarks on.

My brother has lived at Llys Hafren Care home for about seven years. He has been very happy there and the staff have all been extremely kind and helpful. He is now blind and unable to walk unaided. This has been a problem, Llys Hafren being a care home and not a nursing home has not got enough facilities.
The staff all were so helpful, kind and willing in difficult circumstances. He is now in a nursing home.

We were heartbroken when our mum’s physical/mental health needs deteriorated to the point where she needed round the clock care and we could no longer support her properly at home. We couldn’t have chosen a nicer home for her. The staff are truly amazing and so kind to our darling mum. Nothing is too
much trouble, Mum is always spotlessly clean and tidy and so well looked after. We wouldn’t want her to be anywhere else. The setting of the home is lovely too - and in a quiet spot in town with a beautiful garden where we can sit out undercover with Mum on nice days or a small lounge on not so nice! The lovely staff just go the extra mile all the time and we are so grateful to everyone who looks after Mum. Thank you so much to you all from the bottom of our hearts - so much more to say but not enough space! We have absolutely no doubt she’s in a home which truly cares about her well-being and understands how traumatic it is for her family not to have her with us.

Before my wife went into Llys Hafren over three and a half years ago my family and I viewed four homes in the Welshpool area, we chose Llys Hafren; though it wasn't the smartest, the staff from the manager down came across as being very caring and nothing was too much trouble. We have been very happy
with our decisions and continue to be completely satisfied. Throughout the pandemic, they have had a clean sheet, and take a lot of precautions. The staff are superb.

My mother became a resident at this care home in August 2021. She had been here for respite on a couple of occasions but sadly had trouble settling. On this occasion, she moved into the Francis Howell Dept where we cannot believe the difference in her - so more content and settled, and comments how
lovely everybody is to her and how happy she is. Knowing how settled she is we could not be happier.

The care and support continues to be excellent despite the extraordinary times we are living through at the moment due to COVID. Communication at all levels are excellent from asking for a necessary new hairbrush to discussing a risk assessment to attending a family funeral.

My mother has been a resident at Llys Hafren for almost 5 years and has always been very happy. She has received the best care I could have wished for. It's the professionalism and dedication of the staff that makes it so special. She is treated with affection, dignity and the care and attention she
receives are excellent. It has always been a pleasure visiting Llys Hafren as all the staff are welcoming and kind. It has been an extremely difficult year, but I know mum is safe, nourished, cared for and loved. I have constantly been updated on how she is and informed of any problems. It is so assuring that she is so well cared for and I couldn't thank them enough.
