Plas Cae Crwn offers a range of care plans in a warm and safe setting. Care is tailored to the needs of the individual and includes dementia, convalescence and palliative care.

Located in Newtown close to the local amenities, the home provides homely and comfortable accommodation with wheelchair access throughout. Most bedrooms have ensuite facilities while all offer views of the pretty surrounding gardens. Residents have regular access to a GP, optician and reminiscence sessions.

My sister's room is always clean and tidy. There is never any unpleasant smells in the home. The dining room and lounge are always clean and fresh-smelling. I've always found all members of staff polite, respectful and very helpful. My sister is happy and content in Plas and now considers it her home.
I'm so grateful for the care she receives.

The staff are excellent but the only bugbear is our mum has a lovely room but the toilet and bathroom is about six doors away and she is sharing with male residents, could do with converting one of the rooms to an extra bathroom/toilet. The cleaning staff are amazing.

My Mum is starting her 4 weeks in Plas, all the staff are always on hand to answer queries or questions we may have. Absolutely amazing care 24 hours a day, keeping us updated if there is any change in Mum
The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. If you need a photo put on
the wall the maintenance man is your man to fix it.
The food is amazing, something for everyone.
The cleanliness of the rooms is above and beyond. The cleaner does an amazing job. My Mum is safe and well looked after and that is all we can ask. Thank you.

Today my sister and I visited Plas Cae Crwn Care Home to visit two friends. We were welcomed at the entrance and went through to the lounge. The building was clean, well-decorated and more importantly lovely and warm on this cold day. We sat and talked to our two friends and other ladies who were residents
there. The carer gave us a cup of tea when the residents had theirs. The carers were friendly I'm most sociable and nothing was too much trouble for them. After an hour and a quarter visit, we said our goodbyes. On our way out we were met by the lady manageress who was most pleasant. We expressed thanks and complimented her on the running of the place, a pleasure to visit.

My son has settled in very well and likes it. The staff are all very friendly and caring. It's nice to know that he is in safe hands.

Everyone was happy and cheerful much better than other places I have been. The staff are helpful and kind much better than many years ago. If I had to go anywhere that is where it would be.

I feel safe and confident and feel well looked after. I can go to the staff with any queries or worries. I love my room; I have family photos in my room that remind me of home.
I enjoy the activities, especially pub night.
The food is excellent.

If you want peace of mind for your relative, this is the home for them to be in. Staff are attentive, and genuinely caring and treat their residents with respect and dignity. There's lots of interaction from staff, nobody is left out. Home-cooked food is fantastic, tea trolley is always about for both
residents and families. Her room is personalised. Mum went in for respite, determined to go back home at the end of it, but is so happy and well looked after that she's decided to stay long-term. It's home from home for her. We as a family can't thank everyone enough for her care.

My mum was very nervous about coming into a home but she has settled in so well here, the staff are so happy and caring and attentive to her needs, it’s lovely coming to visit and hearing the happiness in her voice when she says how good everyone is to her and nothing is too much trouble. The level
of care is amazing, she loves the food, her room, and chatting with the staff and residents and the manager! You couldn’t get a better one, just watching her going around chatting with the residents, the connection she has with them is lovely to see. Thank you for making Mum feel at home in her new home, I’d recommend this home to anyone.

Plas Cae Crwn has been a godsend for my mother and myself and the rest of the family. Mum has settled in so well, the staff have been so kind and caring towards mum. Mum has a lovely room to make as her own, with access to nearby toilet and other amenities. The support has been brilliant, very helpful
with everything. It's lovely that Mum can have her hair done once a week, plus chiropodist coming into the home for treatments too, also eye tests. You only have to ask about anything. Food is really good, plus lots of tea breaks, which mum loves her cuppa teas, with homemade biscuits and cakes. Very clean, bright and airy lounge with outdoor garden to sit out in on warm days, large dinning area for all residents. Mum has made some new friends too, which is lovely to see. Mum has also been on outings to Aberystwyth and to school concerts and meets the school children in the home too. Plus other activities like, quizzes, colouring, bingo, making chocolates and milkshakes and knitting.

Nikki Hughes

Joined: 2021

Nikki is our Service Manager, she joined team Plas in September 2021.


Nikki joined Shaw healthcare with a wealth of knowledge in the sector.


A lovely lady and a wonderful lead for the home. Passionate about the excellent care and productive ‘Team Work’ Nikki has been welcomed by the staff team and families.


100% dedicated to making sure Plas offers the type of care that you would want for your own Mum or loved one.


Outside of work, Nikki is very much an outdoor lady and an avid dog lover


Sarah

Sarah Hope

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2018

Sarah joined team Plas in January 2018 originally joining us in a night support worker role.


Always helpful and happy to accommodate extra shifts if needed.


In July 2020 Sarah became a Team leader and changed to the day shift.


She worked hard and became a respected member of the team.


Known for her listening ear, high care values and empathy.


In January 2022 Sarah took on the responsibility of becoming the Deputy Manager.


She has made great progress in this role supporting Nikki the manager

Hannah Bridge

Joined: 2014

Hanna joined team Plas in November 2014 as a support worker


A kind and helpful member of the team who very quickly showed her eagerness to learn and progress. A very kind person, who the residents love to see on shift.


In April 2022 Hannah became a Team Leader, and she is fitting well into her new role and responsibilities.
She is patient and helpful.


She is a wonderful asset to the home and has proved herself to be a fabulous mentor to new staff joining us.


Leanne

Leanne Walsh

Joined: 2021

Leanne joined team Plas in January 2021 in a support worker role.
She quickly fitted into the team, always ready to help and showing a passion to learn and progress.


Then in April 2022, Leanne was offered the chance to become a bank team leader.
She is fitting well into this new role and learning fast.


Leanne is a great asset to the home
She has a wonderful person-centred approach, always making sure residents feel safe and secure.


Leanne has excellent time management skills and she is super-efficient with any paperwork


Always Happy to work extra shifts to support the service.

Claire Evans

Job Title: Activity Champion

Claire joined team Plas in March 2021


She is a creative, thoughtful hard-working member of the team.


It’s so important for the well-being of our residents that we have a variety of social interactions.


She also arranges entertainment to come into the home along with visits from local churches and schools.


Claire works alongside the care team and is always happy and smiling – The perfect type of person to work on activities.

Bethan Owens

She has settled really well into her role and comes in every day wanting to do her best.
