Plas Cae Crwn offers a range of care plans in a warm and safe setting. Care is tailored to the needs of the individual and includes dementia, convalescence and palliative care.

Located in Newtown close to the local amenities, the home provides homely and comfortable accommodation with wheelchair access throughout. The home is a great support and peace of mind, with all the stress and strain being taken away from her daughter. All the staff give support in all manners of ways, her mother is very happy and contented in the home and with others around her, seems more alert in herself. She likes the food and more
so loves the treats in-between meal times. Her room is a nice size and she feels safe within the home.

I like it here because of the nurses who look after me and who cook to feed me. Most of all the yellow help button which has saved me on some occasions, when I have needed help.
Friends are always on hand if I need them. Everybody is on hand doctors etc. if I need them and the hospital is a short
drive away.

This care home definitely exceeded my expectations. My mum was an emergency admission but in the three days that they had to prepare for her arrival, her room was freshly decorated. My mum settled instantly due in part to the care and welcome that she received from every member of staff. The home has
a very homely feel and is very inclusive. It is great to see the staff interact with the residents and the activities offered are varied and interesting for the residents. I joined my mum for afternoon tea on Valentine's day and every effort was made by the activities champions to include all the residents and their families. My mum has settled well and most importantly is safe. The home appears to be well run and mum is very well looked after. Thank you to all at Plas Cae Crwn.

This care home is better than I expected. It offers spacious accommodation and plenty of room in the corridors for disabled residents. Large lounges and very large dining rooms. The manager and staff take good care of my mother. She is happy to be there.

I was invited to come to afternoon tea on 1st December. It was a very special time for us as a family and for the residents. The staff had gone the extra mile to make sure we had an afternoon to remember. Tea was served in china cups and plates. The sandwiches (finger) and cakes were beautifully made
and presented. Our thanks to the cook, activities team and care staff at Plas Cae Crwn.

My mother can be very difficult at times but staff from Plas Cae Crwn Care Home are always kind and courteous. I have noticed the home's appearance has improved greatly in the past couple of years and is a credit to all involved.

Dad moved in here early in the pandemic and while it was hard having minimal contact with him, the standard of care was evident and gave great peace of mind. The stay was initially to have been respite, but dad was so settled within weeks and has remained more settled, content and happy than he had
been for many months. Two years on, I wouldn't wish to imagine him anywhere else.

What a fantastic care home. The staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They have been wonderful to my mother and she has settled in so well. They are extremely attentive to her and address all her needs. I was very worried how she would be having to leave her own home but thankfully
she seems so much more relaxed and happy. This is down to all of the staff.

First things first the staff are brilliant, my mother-in-law needed residential care as her illness had escalated and the care home she was booked into unfortunately could not accommodate her. The manager was at my mother-in-law's house within hours to discuss her going to Plas Cae Crwn instead and
then a couple of hours she was settling into her clean, comfortable room and meeting all the other residents.


The staff made her feel welcome from the moment she arrived and offered us a reassuring ear, she has not been there long but you can see the difference in her. She is more confident, looking in better health generally, of course, she still has her illness but the staff are there for her - including liaising with all agencies to ensure she is receiving the care she needs. My mother-in-law always comments on how lovely the food is, especially the homemade cakes and desserts. Thanks to everyone there who has supported her when she needed it most.

Generally satisfied with the home. The food is good, the rooms are warm and comfortable and the staff friendly.
Some points to improve - the music playing in the foyer should be 40's, 50's music and not Radio 1 and it's difficult to catch office staff as they are usually helping out in other areas.

Nikki Hughes

Job Title: Service Manager

Joined: 2021

Nikki is our Service Manager, she joined team Plas in September 2021.


Nikki joined Shaw healthcare with a wealth of knowledge in the sector.


A lovely lady and a wonderful lead for the home. Passionate about the excellent care and productive ‘Team Work’ Nikki has been welcomed by the staff team and families.


100% dedicated to making sure Plas offers the type of care that you would want for your own Mum or loved one.


Outside of work, Nikki is very much an outdoor lady and an avid dog lover


Sarah

Sarah Hope

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2018

Sarah joined team Plas in January 2018 originally joining us in a night support worker role.


Always helpful and happy to accommodate extra shifts if needed.


In July 2020 Sarah became a Team leader and changed to the day shift.


She worked hard and became a respected member of the team.


Known for her listening ear, high care values and empathy.


In January 2022 Sarah took on the responsibility of becoming the Deputy Manager.


She has made great progress in this role supporting Nikki the manager

Hanna joined team Plas in November 2014 as a support worker


A kind and helpful member of the team who very quickly showed her eagerness to learn and progress. A very kind person, who the residents love to see on shift.


In April 2022 Hannah became a Team Leader, and she is fitting well into her new role and responsibilities.
She is patient and helpful.


She is a wonderful asset to the home and has proved herself to be a fabulous mentor to new staff joining us.

Leanne Walsh

Leanne joined team Plas in January 2021 in a support worker role.
She quickly fitted into the team, always ready to help and showing a passion to learn and progress.


Then in April 2022, Leanne was offered the chance to become a bank team leader.
She is fitting well into this new role and learning fast.


Leanne is a great asset to the home
She has a wonderful person-centred approach, always making sure residents feel safe and secure.


Leanne has excellent time management skills and she is super-efficient with any paperwork


Always Happy to work extra shifts to support the service.

Claire Evans

Job Title: Activity Champion

Joined: 2021

Claire joined team Plas in March 2021


She is a creative, thoughtful hard-working member of the team.


It’s so important for the well-being of our residents that we have a variety of social interactions.


She also arranges entertainment to come into the home along with visits from local churches and schools.


Claire works alongside the care team and is always happy and smiling – The perfect type of person to work on activities.

She has absolutely flourished in this role and is a wonderful thoughtful carer.
