My mother has been in residence here from 3rd August 2024. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. So helpful and caring towards my mum. She did take a while to settle but that was due to her losing her independence etc. They always pop in when passing and have a chat. Their care is excellent as
my mum has lost her mobility she needs a lot done for her but, nothing is an issue, lots of cups of tea. Food has been a bit inconsistent of late and as my mum was a cook she does comment a lot. All in all an excellent service.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We're so pleased to hear that you've had such a positive experience with our staff and that your mum is receiving the excellent care she deserves. We understand that adjusting to a new environment can be challenging and we're happy to know that our team has been able to offer her support and companionship during this transition. We also appreciate your feedback on the food and we'll take that into consideration as we work to improve consistency. Thank you again for your trust and for acknowledging the care your mum is receiving - it truly means a lot to us!

I visit my friend weekly, staff are nice and the house looks lovely and has been nicely decorated. I am always offered a hot drink and a biscuit and a quiet place to sit to catch up with my friend.
I have been lucky enough to be visiting whilst some of the activities have taken place and these have
been brilliant. I could tell that a lot of effort had gone into planning and running these activities.

My brother has been a resident here since 17/6/24. He was an extremely confused, angry and very challenging resident but is now contented and (mostly) compliant, solely down to the patient, compassionate and long-suffering staff. They have always been positive. The manager has a lovely, upbeat approach
and did everything in her power to help him settle and succeeded in doing so! She always gets a smile from him which is lovely for family to see. When he has had medical issues staff are just wonderful. Although I can see stress and tiredness etched on their faces they play it all down. I can't praise them highly enough. His personal care is always a priority as he can be difficult but again it's amazing how staff develop little strategies to get him to comply. The food is brilliant! He ate virtually nothing before entering Munches but is enjoying all his food so much which is a joy to see. Residents have numerous activities to opt into and visiting groups plus outdoor spaces to enjoy.

Great home, very welcoming, kept clean and tidy by wonderful, caring staff who make sure the residents are well looked after. With lots of activities and trips to the day centre, as well as arranged hairdresser appointments in-house.

Throughout Covid-19, the staff have been brilliant in enabling contact to be maintained via FaceTime and now, in August, by outdoor visits. It has been an extremely trying time for everyone, but I believe all staff at Munches Park have done their best. They should be congratulated.

Mum has settled well, despite lockdown. Having the telephone has been a great benefit. Recently, she has enjoyed her trips out now that you have transport again. Grateful that visits have been allowed even if in the garden.

Following a prolonged stay in hospital after a fall, my mother lost confidence in living alone in her sheltered accommodation. She no longer socialised in any organised activities and was isolated in her flat.
Since arriving at Munches Park, her quality of life has improved greatly. She enjoys the
food and company at meal times, joins in with activities and entertainment and has her hair done weekly by the visiting hairdresser. She loves the staff who are all so friendly, taking the residents out for a drive for afternoon tea and ice cream.
Her bedroom is warm and bright with a lovely outlook to the garden and park. She is surrounded by her family photos and own TV when she wants time on her own.
It is a relief to know she is safe and obviously well cared for by dedicated staff who always find time for a chat or answer any questions.
Munches Park is an excellent facility and has proved to be a very positive move for my mum.

My wife has been a resident for almost 5 years. Throughout that time she has been extremely well cared for, being treated with kindness, concern and compassion. The home and staff are well maintained and helpful. I am so impressed with Munches Park House that if/when I need residential care I would
be delighted to find a home there.

I am very happy with the care provided to my mother. It is a great comfort knowing that she is safe, nourished and nurtured by carer's, in fact, all staff including catering and domestic staff even the hairdresser. The recent artwork which has been enthused by both residents and staff alike have been
very impressive, a great achievement and highly commendable. My mother recently had a short visit to the hospital, on her return she said "Thank God I'm Home" this is a good endorsement.

We feel the carers are all excellent and genuinely care about our mum.
She's been here for 6 years now and is requiring more help especially when eating.
I wish there were more activities, especially musical - singing or musicians.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.276)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.276) out of 10 for Munches Park House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.914 for Munches Park House is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.914

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.362 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Munches Park House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.862

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
