Job Title: Registered Manager
I have worked at Strathview Care Home for more than 7 years and prior to that cared for my mum and also worked in the private care sector. At Strathview I have worked my way up from Administrator to Deputy Manager and finally Home Manager, so I know the team well. I have always worked very closely with my team, which is very important to me.
As a small home it is vital that we support each other and work well as a team, every member of the team knows they can speak to me whenever they may need to, and the same goes for our residents and their families.
As the Manager at Strathview Care Home, I enjoy seeing how even just the smallest interaction on a daily basis can lighten someone’s face and make a difference. I work with people who have given their all to everyone around them and now it is their time to be looked after.
We provide a home-from-home experience for our residents and this extends to their family and friends. I take my responsibilities very seriously and am passionate that we provide a safe and secure environment for each and every resident at Strathview, whilst providing the highest level of care. I pride myself in treating every resident and every visitor as if they were family – always remembering we are guests in their home and not the other way around.
I personally feel that development and training are very important for both the team and myself, every day is a school day! I am proactive in supporting my team in taking up all the opportunities provided as we want to be able to offer the best experience possible to our residents, delivering quality care.
Away from work, I enjoy baking and cooking, bringing in some of the treats whenever possible, I like to make people happy. I also love learning, and I am regularly buried in an online course. My ideal holiday would be camping in Northern France, although I do like to take a few home comforts with me.
