Emergency respite was provided to my mum after her flat was flooded. From the outset, my mother was made to feel most welcome. Staff were friendly, professional and made every effort to ensure my mother's needs were met.
I was provided with a telephone number for the home to provide contact and all
enquiries have been answered in full and promptly.
My mother tells me she loves the food and would like to come back to Larkfield View if she has to have respite in the future.

My mum has been in this care home for 2 years now, everything is good. Food could do with having more variety as it's the same every week. Staff are amazing. The decor is nice but the dining room is very dated and needs to be freshened up. The carpet in the corridor needs to be renewed as it has worn
out and looks terrible. Other than this, it's a great, clean, friendly home. No concerns whatsoever.

No one wants to put their loved ones into care. But despite the excellent services and care my mum received, the day came she needed 24/7 supervision and was no longer safe in her own home.
Nearly 7 years on and I am delighted to say that Larkfield View was definitely the right decision for my mum.
She has not only had the excellent medical care and attention she requires, but has so much fun meeting new friends, and taking part in all the activities and day trips provided by the excellent staff.
Larkfield View Care Centre is one big family, run by excellent staff who take pride in their vocation! No matter the job title, the staff here work together as a team, and show great patience and dignity towards all their residents.

The care home has provided high-quality care for my mother since March 2017. The staff are committed, friendly and helpful in supporting both mum and visitors. Mum has settled well and I have seen improvements in her well-being, health and general demeanour. She enjoys the company of others and liked
the meals served. I am very happy with the level of care provided.

My mother-in-law has settled in really well here. She's happy and looks well cared for. I can't believe the change in her. She's enjoying the food and especially the company of staff and entertainment. We really appreciate everything the staff are doing. Thanks for everything!!!!

Due to a family bereavement, it was advised that we should consider our aunt for a nursing home due to advanced stages of dementia.
Our family have peace of mind knowing our aunt is well cared for by highly experienced staff from management right through the chain of employees. I have no hesitation
in recommending this home to others and have every confidence that your loved ones will be well looked after.

My dad is happy, content and well looked after. He enjoys playing the piano and this is accommodated within the unit.

He has his own things around him to remind him of the things he used to do.

The care home ensures he interacts with others and cares very well for his needs.

After losing my dad, I was unable to look after mum due to a decline in her dementia. I can't thank the staff enough for all the support shown to not only mum but also me. Mum has come on heeps since being here all thanks to a wonderful staff team.

Don't know where I'd have been without you all.

I have nothing but praise for the staff and management of this care home! It is a difficult task to look after so many residents with various forms of dementia and mobility problems. The staff members appointed to the personal care of my mother do a magnificent job, with love, understanding and devotion
- a fact that helps to put my mind at ease!

My mother has been a resident in Larkfield View Care Centre since 2008. In my experience with all staff over the years of care for Mum, I have not come up against any problems. Staff are always polite and friendly. They make me and my family feel very welcome at all times. I am always informed if Mum
is not well whether its a chest infection or other medical problems. The doctor is phoned promptly. I am happy with Mum's care in Larkfield View. My father was also in the home and the same applied to Dad, who is now no longer with us.

My Nana has been a resident now for 11 years at Larkfield Care Centre and feels very comfortable in her home, surrounds and continuity of staff. Over the years Nana has had and still receives excellent care, love and attention. My experience overall is excellent and I am happy with Nana's care and have
recommended to other family and friends.

My mum was assessed at her house. She was made to feel completely at ease. She was allowed to talk and express herself.
She was admitted and was made welcome by all. She has settled in and is very happy with her surroundings. Overall, myself and family are very happy with how well she is being treated
and we are completely relieved ar how she has settled in.

Larkfield View were taking the residents away to Craig Tara for a few days, my mum was to go, but the staff decided that it might have unsettled my mum. My sister and I were not happy with this decision and took my mum away for 3 nights instead but stayed for only 2 as mum was so unsettled. As a result,
we realised that the staff were right. My mum was not happy in a strange place and just wanted to get home to Larkfield View, her home. The manager and all the staff are just fabulous. A lesson to listen to the professionals, they know best.

Mum has been in Larkfield View for the past couple of months. I have found all staff to be helpful, courteous and caring. I am at the home every day at various times, therefore meeting a number of staff. Leaving my Mum in care was a very stressful thing but was made easier knowing she is being well
cared for.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.139)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.139) out of 10 for Larkfield View Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.895 for Larkfield View Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.895

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.244 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Larkfield View Care Centre is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.444

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
