Abbotsford House is a stunning mansion house sitting amongst wonderful mature gardens. The House was converted into a Care Home in 1989, it had a custom built extension in the 90s and underwent a full refurbishment programme in 2014/2015.

Abbotsford House is a well established, family run, local care service which has been delivering care to older people for over 32 years. The organisation is registered with the Care Inspectorate to deliver a range of services, including, Respite Care, Residential Care and Nursing Care.

The Organisation's aims and objectives are to provide quality care services which promote the rights of the individual while ensuring privacy, dignity and respect. The Organisation's philosophy of care is to encourage independence and reablement.

Mum has thrived in Abbotsford House. She is so well looked after and it is uplifting to visit her and see her being stimulated with interesting and fun activities- she particularly enjoys the frequent musical concerts and her weekly in-house hair appointment. The staff are so incredibly caring and really
know all the residents and their individual needs so well.
It's such a beautiful environment too with the lovely, well maintained mature grounds and the impressive, clean and fresh interior.
Mum has been at Abbotsford House for a couple of years now and is so at home.

My mum has been a resident since June 2024 when she moved up from northern England. She has Alzheimer's disease. It was an emotional time for me and her family, the staff at Abbotsford House really helped and supported mum to settle in. The atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed. There are always
different activities organised which helps mum socialise and keep occupied during the day. I always find the staff friendly, welcoming and responsive. Friends and other family who have visited over the last few months always comment on how comfortable and welcoming the home is and how settled and happy mum is. If we go out, on our return in the driveway she invariably says - oh, I like this place!

There are a lot of good care homes and Abbotsford House has proven to us to be among the best. Our father has been a guest for over a year and the care could not have been better. In our case there was a difficult family matter that made the situation extremely difficult. In such sensitive circumstances
you can see what separates the good care homes from the excellent care homes. For us Abbotsford House has proven to be nothing less than excellent. The personnel is extremely professional and caring. The manager has been a life saver for us several times. We can only recommend Abbotsford House if you are really looking for the absolute best care house in the Glasgow area.

My brother was in Abbotsford House for the last few months of his life. His care was exemplary. The staff were always courteous and extremely caring. They often went above and beyond what was expected of them. Their patience, understanding and respect made my brother's final days as comfortable as was
possible. Our family is very grateful to all at Abbotsford House.

My mum has had an amazing experience at Abbotsford House. The staff are so friendly and caring towards the residents and make them feel 'at home.'
Any medical issues are dealt with swiftly by a local visiting doctor who always calls with updates after each visit. Staff too continually keep relatives
informed of any changes or concerns.
The catering is first class with something to suit all appetites. All residents are kept busy and never bored with all the planned events which occur daily from exercises after breakfast to visiting opera singers to local children singing, seasonal movies to petting dogs.
The individual accommodation is comfortable and bright and cosy with enough space to suit anyone.
Abbotsford House is immaculate and tastefully decorated throughout with lovely fenced gardens to either side of the building for residents' use when weather permits. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone I know.

My aunt has now been resident in Abbotsford House for five months. She has settled in and is very happy having made new friends amongst the residents and experiencing the high standards of care provided by the whole team. She enjoys participating in organised activities and the fact that there is always
something going on. She's very sociable and Abbotsford staff have given her a new lease of life! It's a great relief to our family to see her so cheerful and to know that she is well cared for. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful. Monthly care reviews are carried out and the family are kept informed of care plans. I would highly recommend Abbotsford for its homely environment and caring staff.

From the initial contact made by Abbotsford House to myself, I was thankfully helped and guided through the care home process, which is daunting for anyone who has never been through it before. My dad has only been a resident for a month but has settled very well, is happy and receiving excellent care
and attention from all members of the care team. We do not live local to the home; however, the staff have been very accommodating and keep us updated. The home setting is peaceful and rural, and Dad’s room looks onto the well-kept gardens. We love the fact that the chef visited Dad to find out his favourite food and his taste likes and dislikes, and afternoons also include home-baking treats! Every member of the care team has been very friendly and engaging with visitors. We are very happy with our care home decision. Dad is not able to participate in activities at the moment, so I cannot comment on this.

We are very happy with the care provided for our mother. She is settled and content; her hygiene needs are met, and she is well turned out. Monthly review meetings ensure that we are regularly updated on mum’s care plan. Staff members have developed a warm and caring relationship with Mum and have also

I visit Abbotsford most days. The staff are incredibly hard-working but they always find time for a friendly word or chat if needed. Their caring skills and behaviour are at a high level and the residents seem well cared for and content. The house is very clean and well looked after, the food is very
acceptable and overall there is a good homely feel. As someone with responsibility for an elderly person, I place a high value on the willingness and ability of staff to communicate comfortably.

My father is well looked after. We get regular updates on his care and health. The home has lovely gardens to sit in. There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Staff are friendly. My father is happy with the food and the activities such as dominoes.

The staff have been continuously accommodating to my family. My mum and her siblings do not live near and the staff are very understanding that we want to see them most days we are over. The staff have kept us well looped in with what is going on with my grandparents which is really important.

My aunt has been in respite care here for three weeks with a view to staying long-term. The care has been outstanding to both my aunt and the rest of the family. All staff from cleaning staff to the manager have been so helpful and kind in helping us through this difficult time. We know that our aunt
is safe and well cared for which takes a lot of stress away from us.

The manageress was totally understanding that my mother needed immediate respite as my sister who takes care of my mother 24/7, was taken ill. When we arrived, we were greeted by a wonderful young woman and then a nurse who was absolutely so friendly and helpful towards us and my mother, in reassuring
her that she will love staying here in Abbotsford House care home and have all her needs attended to. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was a problem. It was great to see my mother so happy within herself staying here, which gives me great confidence in all that the staff do in caring for my mother. We plan on using Abbotsford House for future respite for my mother, giving my sister some time off from caring for my mother. I would like to thank all the staff at Abbotsford House for their help and friendliness towards my mother while staying there for a week's respite.
