Beechgrove offers nursing and residential care to a maximum 70 older people this can include 5 younger adults with physical, sensory or learning impairments aged 55 years and upwards m in Lanark, Lanarkshire. The home is surrounded by scenic farmland just two miles from Lanark town centre, providing a peaceful setting with shops and amenities nearby.

Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is thoughtfully furnished and decorated. All are accessible for those with mobility issues and have individual temperature control.

The home also features a bar, a cinema room, a hair salon, a library and large landscaped gardens that include a putting green.

Activities are available, meals are home-cooked and individual dietary needs are accommodated.

Friends and family are welcome to stay with new residents while they settle in.

Staff are always friendly and attentive and make time for a chat with Mum. Plenty of activities to keep her busy and engaged. She has settled in well and care is excellent. She is always telling me how lovely and helpful all the staff are. Well done everyone.

I have been visiting Beechgrove as a volunteer with my therapy pet for over a year. Over the past year, I have witnessed first-hand the warmth, care and love the residents receive from all of the Beechgrove team.
Myself and my pet always receive a warm welcome from all who he visits. My pet loves
all the attention he receives. I too feel very privileged in being part of the joy he brings to everyone he meets. You are all wonderful. It is a very special place indeed.

I got married in June, and unfortunately, this meant that Mum, due to her dementia, could not be there. However, the Beechgrive team kindly helped me organise for two of my aunt to be with my mum on the day of the wedding. Also, on the day after the wedding, providing tea, coffee, cake and sandwiches
for me and the rest of the bridal party to celebrate with Mum. I was really touched when I received flowers and a card from Mum just before the wedding - organised by Beechgrove. I would recommend this home, and you are outstanding. Thank you.

The love, care and attention given to my mum in her last weeks was outstanding and struck my sister and I how much the staff and management care for each and every resident.
Mum was a resident from January 2022 until April 2023 and she absolutely loved her time here, she was always telling me about
activities she had been involved in (if she could remember as she had dementia), the staff were very accommodating with taking Mum to hospital appointments and keeping me up to date with results etc.
In Mum's final days/hours the staff, even if they were working on a different wing, would pop in on breaks to see how she was doing and if there was anything that they could do for either my sister or myself.
I cannot thank everyone at the home, for the care and affection shown, not only to Mum, but to myself and my sisters during Mum's time at the home.

Beechgrove Care Home has looked after my mother since 2020. I would like to confirm how impressed I have been with how my mother has been cared for during this time. This also includes how her end-of-life was managed (15th February 2023).
The staff and management are a credit to Beechgrove Care Home.

My mum has been in the home for just over two years. It's amazing with all the activities now, Mum went from the hospital into the home during Covid. Now there is music and activities and she gets her hair done weekly. Mum having problems eating, now trying her in bed with the back support up, and it
seems to be helping. We had a miracle at the Christmas party, she was responding to the music, her 1st reaction since she has been in the home.

My mother-in-law has been well looked after by staff and management and we have been kept informed of anything we need to know about by phone. She has been encouraged to keep her independence while staff help with things she can't manage herself. Staff are always helpful and friendly when we visit.

Beechgrove is a very well run home with excellent nursing and personal care. It is a very friendly and welcoming place. The manager and her staff are dedicated to making the lives of residents as happy, comfortable and fulfilling as possible. My mother was very content and happy living there. Staff
would always pop in for a chat and would go out of their way to ensure mum had everything she needed. At the end of her life mum received very dignified and compassionate care.

My mum has been a resident at Beechgrove Care Home for about 10 months. Every time I speak to her, she tells me how clean it is, how good the food is and how lovely the staff are. Given that I live overseas, this is a great comfort to me that mum is well cared for and happy. I recently visited mum in
Beechgrove and found it to be very homely and welcoming. Staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. Can also tell that the staff work well as a team and take pride in providing individualised care to the residents. Many activities and outings are offered also and relatives receive a monthly newsletter with photos, updating them on all that has been happening. Every staff member I have encountered, manager, nurses, carers and cleaners alike have been professional, accommodating and above all, compassionate and caring.
As a healthcare professional who has encountered several care homes in the past in a work capacity, I can say that this is one of the best.

The staff are so friendly, helpful and attentive. Someone is always popping their head in to check on the residents, which is reassuring. The home is always clean, from the front door, and hallways to my family members' rooms.
There are a lot of activities and events which occur, some which family

My sister moved from the stroke unit to Beechwood for long-term care. On transfer, she was partially weight-bearing and only able to speak one word.
From the admission day, you could clearly see the level of care and compassion the staff demonstrated. Due to the communication difficulties, they made
every effort to find out as much information about her as possible to ensure they knew what mattered to her and planned her care so that it was truly person-centred.
She has been there two months now and is up mobilising with one and engaging with singing and managing a few words. It’s amazing the progress she has made.
The home has been such a stimulating environment for her more, so more than the acute hospital with regular activities planned, as well as down time to relax and have privacy.
I can’t thank the staff enough for the exceptionally high standards of care delivered with compassion and person-centred care. A great team.

Absolutely delighted about the care for my gran. The staff are amazing with her, and she has come on great since arriving at the home; she is so much healthier looking and can’t thank staff enough for their hard work and caring hearts!
Hearing about her interacting in loads of activities and seeing
photos of her enjoying herself with the staff and other residents makes a huge difference to her, and hearing she has made loads of friends is great to hear. There’s always something going on each day, especially with the better weather getting outside.

I am glad I choose Beechgrove for Mum. She has been there for over 4-years now. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and always keep you up to date on any issues or concerns they have about Mum. Not only the care staff but the kitchen, laundry and cleaning and office staff are all very friendly
and helpful, right down to the maintenance man; they are all great. Beechgrove is always spotlessly clean, and the food always looks and smells, and no doubt, tastes delicious.

Elena

Elena Paraschiv

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2019

Elena came from Romania, her biggest dream was to become a nurse and work in the UK and wear the “Navy Blue” uniform. She loves looking after elderly people, one of the reasons being she never got to know her grandparents. She Joined Beechgrove in 2019 and hopes her passion, skills and friendly demeanour make a real difference in our residents’ lives. Elena accepted the Deputy Managers post in January 2020 giving her a new challenge and career path within the care sector. She continues to develop her knowledge and skills to ensure the best possible care and environment for our residents. Elena took over the Home Manager role in August 2024 having the same mindset of making sure the delivery of quality and person-centred care of our residents is maintained at high standards.

Carol Bannatyne

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2012

Carol joined our team in January 2012, she has had many years’ experience in accounts and admin. Families can find it a daunting experience when a loved one is admitted to a care home and welcome the time that Carol takes to explain the financial side of this. Carol works closely with social work managing enquires and availability, she is also involved with recruitment, training, staff files and much more. Carol will also support staff wherever she is needed and enjoys making sure that the residents are happy and settled in their new environment.

Wendy has been in caring for 26 years, she was one of the first employees when Beechgrove opened in 2006. Wendy is compassionate about her job and the needs of her residents going out of her way to ensure they have everything they need to improve and maintain their independence within the home.


Hazel

Hazel Turner

Job Title: Senior Carer

Joined: 2014

With over forty years of experience in the care sector, Hazel has been a Senior Carer with us for the past eight years. She is a great role model to new staff and is happy to lead by example to promote the highest standards within our home. Hazel is also passionate about teaching and has taken on the new role of Moving & Handling trainer here at Beechgrove.


Leaann

Leaann Mitchell

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Joined: 2007

Leaann came to Beechgrove 15 years ago after the birth of her son although she has been in caring for over 23 years. She has an SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. Leaann is passionate about her role and enjoys providing the best possible care for her residents. Leaann was delighted to now be a Senior Carer since September 2022


Jeannie

Jeannie Morrison

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Joined: 2015

Jeannie began in Beechgrove as a Domestic Assistant in 2015. After several years doing this she was keen to move over to the caring side of the job. She started her new role as Care Assistant in 2017. Completed her SVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care. Jeannie was promoted to Senior Carer in December 2021.


Lynsey

Lynsey O’Hara

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Joined: 2020

Lynsey began work in Beechgrove Care home in September 2020 at the height of the pandemic as a Domestic Assistant. It was clear very early on for all to see that Lynsey would make an excellent Care Assistant, Lynsey’s compassion, willingness to help and understanding of our resident’s needs were outstanding, and she was persuaded to transfer her skills to becoming a Care Assistant in June 2021. From there Lynsey quickly and competently completed her SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.


Her development in her caring role went from strength to strength and it was decided in September this year 2022 that she should be promoted to Senior Care Assistant.


Margaret

Margaret Somerville

Job Title: Housekeeper

Joined: 2012

Margaret has worked in Beechgrove since November 2012, she started as a Domestic Assistant and moved to Housekeeper in 2021. Her role consists of leading the housekeeping team, ordering supplies, and ensuring cleaning standards are kept high.


Jhon

Jhon Trujillo

Job Title: Maintenance

Joined: 2016

Jhon is originally from Columbia and then Spain came to Beechgrove in 2016, he is a great asset to our home and can turn his hand to anything. He is responsible for most of the maintenance within the home.


Debbie

Debbie Jamieson

Job Title: Cook

Joined: 2006

Debbie studied at college from the age of 18 to qualify as a Soup Cook, progressing to cooking 18 months later. Debbie began employment as a Carer then married and gave up work when she had her family. She returned 10 years later to employment at Homecare then moved to care at Beechgrove Care Home before moving over to the kitchen to take the post of Cook, she has been a constant here now for the past 15 years. Debbie strives to ensure our residents enjoy their food and maintain a well-balanced healthy diet.

Louise Aitchison

Louise has many years of experience in a laundry environment. Louise has an outgoing personality and is keen to help out with anything at all.


Patrick

Patrick Bogan

Patrick is bubbly and always up for making everyone smile with his good sense of humour. Patrick has previously worked with the general public and has great respect for everyone.


Rebecca

Rebecca Workman

Rebecca has caring experience and is always keen to ensure all resident's needs are met.


She is keen to get all our residents as an individual to ensure she knows their likes and dislikes.

Carys Anthony

Carys has no careering experience but is a very keen young lady who is looking to improve her knowledge and skills in the care sector as this is something she has always wanted to do.
