Beechgrove offers nursing and residential care to a maximum 70 older people this can include 5 younger adults with physical, sensory or learning impairments aged 55 years and upwards m in Lanark, Lanarkshire. The home is surrounded by scenic farmland just two miles from Lanark town centre, providing a peaceful setting with shops and amenities nearby.

Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is thoughtfully furnished and decorated. All are accessible for those with mobility issues and have individual temperature control.

The home also features a bar, a cinema room, a hair salon, a library and large landscaped gardens that include a putting green.

Activities are available, meals are home-cooked and individual dietary needs are accommodated.

Friends and family are welcome to stay with new residents while they settle in.

I am so glad I chose Beechgrove for my dad's last home. He felt at home here, and that is because of the love and care from all the staff here.

Very friendly staff, very caring and nothing was too much trouble, especially when Mum was in her last few days. Nurses kept Mum pain-free, and her passing was peaceful.

All staff at Beechgrove did their job in an exemplary manner.
Office staff and those answering the phone were very welcoming and dealt professionally with Covid restrictions. A newsletter added a personal touch.
The home itself was fresh and clean with residents able to personalise their rooms.

Nursing staff kept the family fully aware of my aunt’s condition. They acted promptly to each new challenge to her health, always seeming to be one step ahead when planning her care.
My aunt was treated with respect and friendliness and looked well with regularly set hair. As her death approached, we knew she was receiving the very best of care.
I will always be grateful that in the last months of her life my aunt was in a safe, caring environment.

My mum has dementia and since going into care would not leave her room then on Sunday the team of staff managed to get my mum to participate in the Halloween party, she had a ball and never stopped dancing, she now eats her meals in the dining room with everyone else!

I find the staff at this care home extremely accommodating and can’t do enough for me when making an enquiry or in dealing with my mum. On top of this, they are very professional and competent staff at all levels. I’m always met with a personal first name greeting and feel comfortable knowing they are
looking after our nearest and dearest when they need it most.

My wife is immobile and requires a lot of assistance and care from the staff team at Beechgrove. She is treated and cared for and I have full trust in the team's abilities, the cleanliness of the room and common spaces as well as other services provided. We are kept informed regularly about my wife
and what is happening at Beechgrove. I would highly recommend Beechgrove where my wife really has settled quickly this gives me peace of mind.

My uncle has been a resident for 10 years. During this time he has required varied care and support. The staff, though changing, have become his second family. My main priority is that they care for my uncle as if he was their own and I can’t fault them at all. I’m not saying they’re perfect but they
try 100 %. Any questions are answered honestly and requests have been fulfilled. During the pandemic they have kept us up to date with photos and informed of any issues for which the whole family are grateful. Keep up the good work team.

I would love to thank the staff for the caring way they treat my mum - there is such a peaceful feeling in the home as soon as you walk through the door and the staff are always very attentive and approachable. My mum is happy and treated with love and respect - she is very content and knows she feels
she gets treated like family - we could not ask for anything more than this - so thank you to all the staff.

My 99-year-old mother became a resident of Beechgrove Care Home in mid-September 2020. This was after she had spent around six weeks in hospital recovering from surgery to repair a fractured hip. When she arrived at Beechgrove she was underweight and emotionally and physically exhausted. However,
she settled into her new home quickly and it did not take long for her overall general condition to improve significantly and this remains the case in April 2021. This improvement is due in no small part to the excellent care she has received - excellent accommodation in her own room, good food and helpful, friendly and considerate staff.
It is a great comfort to me to know that my mother is being very well cared for in high-class Beechgrove.

I have visited a close friend twice in Beechgrove as her son is unable to visit owing to Covid restrictions. Visits have been a pleasant experience for both my friend and myself. The staff are both friendly and efficient despite what must be an increased workload because of restrictions. If I had to
go into a care home myself I would be happy to choose Beechgrove.

My dad was moved from hospital into Beechgrove Care Home at the start of January. His mental health had deteriorated drastically after being in hospital since October. In under 3 weeks the Beechgrove Care Home staff had shown, care, compassion, patience and kindness to my dad and the change in his mental
health in 3 weeks was just remarkable.

My appreciation for the staff and facilities at Beechgrove Care Home could not be higher. The care for my 100-year-old mum and family was excellent.
Their friendly and sensitive approach ensured that my mum maintained her dignity to the end of her days. At all times they kept us informed of any particular
needs or concerns. I visited virtually every day.
With the agreement of the family, I was also included in the update on the care of the elderly gentleman whom I also visited. His family lived overseas. Beechgrove Care Home went over and above with the care of this gentleman.

My mother resided in Beechgrove for over two years until her death. She was looked after with dignity by dedicated, caring staff who went above and beyond their care of duty. Their respect and kindness did not stop with their residents, staff were also there for me when I needed support. I felt welcomed
at every visit and was kept informed and involved in all decisions made. My one criticism would be that there does not appear to be sufficient numbers of staff at times. This can impact on the care given. In my opinion, a few extra staff would provide full support for residents and alleviate pressure on staff.

Elena Paraschiv

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2019

Elena came from Romania, her biggest dream was to become a nurse and work in the UK and wear the “Navy Blue” uniform. She loves looking after elderly people, one of the reasons being she never got to know her grandparents. She Joined Beechgrove in 2019 and hopes her passion, skills and friendly demeanour make a real difference in our residents’ lives. Elena accepted the Deputy Managers post in January 2020 giving her a new challenge and career path within the care sector. She continues to develop her knowledge and skills to ensure the best possible care and environment for our residents. Elena took over the Home Manager role in August 2024 having the same mindset of making sure the delivery of quality and person-centred care of our residents is maintained at high standards.

Carol Bannatyne

Carol joined our team in January 2012, she has had many years’ experience in accounts and admin. Families can find it a daunting experience when a loved one is admitted to a care home and welcome the time that Carol takes to explain the financial side of this. Carol works closely with social work managing enquires and availability, she is also involved with recruitment, training, staff files and much more. With over forty years of experience in the care sector, Hazel has been a Senior Carer with us for the past eight years. She is a great role model to new staff and is happy to lead by example to promote the highest standards within our home. Lynsey O’Hara

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Joined: 2020

Lynsey began work in Beechgrove Care home in September 2020 at the height of the pandemic as a Domestic Assistant. It was clear very early on for all to see that Lynsey would make an excellent Care Assistant, Lynsey’s compassion, willingness to help and understanding of our resident’s needs were outstanding, and she was persuaded to transfer her skills to becoming a Care Assistant in June 2021. From there Lynsey quickly and competently completed her SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.


Her development in her caring role went from strength to strength and it was decided in September this year 2022 that she should be promoted to Senior Care Assistant.

Margaret has worked in Beechgrove since November 2012, she started as a Domestic Assistant and moved to Housekeeper in 2021. Her role consists of leading the housekeeping team, ordering supplies, and ensuring cleaning standards are kept high.

Jhon is originally from Columbia and then Spain came to Beechgrove in 2016, he is a great asset to our home and can turn his hand to anything. He is responsible for most of the maintenance within the home.

Debbie studied at college from the age of 18 to qualify as a Soup Cook, progressing to cooking 18 months later. Debbie began employment as a Carer then married and gave up work when she had her family. She returned 10 years later to employment at Homecare then moved to care at Beechgrove Care Home before moving over to the kitchen to take the post of Cook, she has been a constant here now for the past 15 years. Debbie strives to ensure our residents enjoy their food and maintain a well-balanced healthy diet.
