Situated in the rural village of Auchinleck in East Ayrshire, Glennie House is a purpose built 52 bedded care home which offers specialist nursing, residential and dementia care. The home also offers respite stays on a long term and short term basis to give home carers a much-needed break.

Facilities at the home include en-suite bedrooms, spacious lounges, an on-site hair salon, attractive grounds with secure residents’ garden and a guest room which relatives can reserve for overnight stays. Wheelchair access is available throughout. A restaurant standard kitchen provides freshly prepared meals tailored to the residents’ preferences and needs.

The care manager is experienced and is qualified as a general nurse. The home offers excellent training and support to the care team to allow them to take care of the varied needs of residents, from specialist support to general assistance with everyday activities, while also respecting the residents’ need to live independent and dignified lives. The home also offers training, information and support to the relatives of residents to help them better understand the treatment and care requirements of their loved-one.

The home benefits from having built good relationships with the local council, GPs, physiotherapists, district nurses, social workers and other visiting healthcare professionals.

The Activities Coordinators at Glennie House provide a full programme of activities, entertainment and events for residents to choose from. The home maintains strong community links and access to a mini bus means that residents can enjoy day trips out.

No complaints. Mum is well looked after by friendly and attentive staff. Facilities are well presented and rooms are clean and maintained. Mum is involved in activities as she wants to be and additional services like hairdressers are easily arranged.

Since gran has moved into the home she has been much more settled and content. She enjoys days out and joins in with all of the activities that happen in the home.
She loves the meals and always seems to have a cake or two during the day. All in all very happy with Glennie House and the care staff
are so kind and gentle with gran.

Although my mothers stay was very short we cannot praise all staff enough for their support and assistance. During her short stay, we would have no reservations in recommending Glennie House to anyone.

Great service from all staff from handyman to office staff and all others. The rooms are kept clean and tidy the windows have a bird feeder and keep full which keeps Mum and Dad occupied looking at the small birds. Now they have a nice tea area at the entrance which is good to take residents for tea
and a chat

Dad was in Glennie House Care Home for 16 days respite. During this time he was well fed and well looked after, Staff were all really pleasant and friendly - they all stopped to have a chat with him and all of his needs were extremely well met.


I would have no hesitation in recommending Glennie

House Care Home and if the time comes for full-time care, I would definitely have no hesitation in putting dad in as a resident. He said, "it was the best holiday he had in years!" :)

I find the staff very helpful and nothing is too much trouble to them.
Any questions asked have been answered truthfully. My dad seems to have settled well and accepted that this is home now. Anytime we ask about the home he has nothing but praise for it. At the moment everything is going well and
the family are quite happy.

I find Glennie House Care Home up to a very high standard. The staff are very professional and caring, nothing is too much bother.
Although a care home is the last place you want your loved ones to go. I am glad my mother-in-law has been placed in a safe environment and all the family have peace of
mind.
I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly staff within Glennie House doing a sterling job in sometimes challenging circumstances.

From the first moment I entered Glennie House Care Home, I was made to feel welcome by everyone. We have outings, games and pastimes which helps to pass the time more quickly. The food is all right and they try to cater for as many people as possible.

In the darkest days leading up to my mother's illness and her mobility to live in her own home after 59 years, she required 24 hr care although we the family had all tried to support her for 2 years before. We all had to sit down and review what was best socially, personally and health wise so my mother
could live safely and happily with the best support. This is far from an easy decision. The hardest I have ever made. Going to pick a nursing home my daughter and her granddaughter stated we're going to pick a place and a room for my gran, this is the place and room my gran will die in. Glennie House was easy to choose. We walked in the staff were great the place felt she would be safe. My mother in the last year has had a great life.

Had a lovely day with Grandmother on mothers day. A great spread was put on by the care home team and it was delicious. All residents were well looked after on the day too, all their preferences were catered for. Very impressed.

Glennie House Care Home has an overall pleasant and welcoming feel to it. The staff are always pleasant and very helpful at all times. My relative is very settled and happy since her entry two years ago. Nice to see some upgrades being done since the new manager took over and what is hoped to improve
meals etc, for residents in the future. Activities are always being changed around and added to accommodate everybody and interaction with family members is always welcome.

Our mother has been in Glennie House for about two years now and has settled in really well. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and needs 24-hour care. She can walk around inside the home, or, sit in her room as she wants. They also have a garden area where she can go if she wants and the home
and gardens are secure ensuring our mother's safety at all times.
The staff have got to know our mother well and are very good at recognising any signs of infections or illness and are quick to react with suitable medications, they are good at working with her as well. My sister and myself are invited to review meetings to discuss our mother’s care package and our thoughts are taken into account when any changes have to be made.
The home puts on different activities on a monthly basis either within the home or to places of interest outside the home. They have visits from local schools, minister and entertainers. She gets regular meals either in her room or the dining area as she wants.

My mother has now been a resident for a year. In this space of time I have only had one episode I was not happy with. On approaching staff it was dealt with swiftly and politely and has never happened again. I am more than happy with the attention and care given to my mother. The housekeeping is fantastic
and everything is always spotless. Mum is always very well dressed and seems happy. The meals are nutritious and snacks are given morning and afternoon, she has actually put on weight, even though she is a poor eater. There is entertainment frequently and all the staff are very friendly. It is like a large family and I feel very much part of it.
