Stormont Lodge Care Home is a well appointed property located in Blairgowrie, Perthshire. Stormont became part of the group in November 2007 and provides care for up to 32 residents.

The home is located in a popular residential area, less than a mile from the town centre and has its own extensive grounds - perfect for residents to enjoy a choice of indoor and outdoor activities. The original property was constructed in the mid 1800’s, and was extended in 1999. The home caters for residents requiring both long term and respite care.

Blairgowrie is situated on the River Ericht and is a busy rural town in the Perthshire hills with a strong farming and textile tradition. It has now grown into a well known tourist centre having easy access to the mountains and hills that surround it.

The staff are very welcoming and dad is well cared for and safe. Trips are well organised and the residents appear to enjoy them. Photos of such events are posted on the notice board within the home and on the Facebook page. Communication is very good with senior staff happy to email updates which keep
us informed about doctors visits, changes in medication, hospital appointments etc.

Staff very pleasant nothing too much trouble. The food is very tasty. Baking not too great one cake very stodgy, not thoroughly cooked. Pancakes? Could sole shoes with them.

Balhousie Stormont is a really friendly care home. They are really welcoming to visitors. They seem to know my mother-in-law really well and meet all her needs. Her named carer has a lovely relationship with her. On a nice day, she is taken out into the garden and the residents get some treats - ice
lollies. There is entertainment, she really likes the peb when they come to visit.

Mum moved to Stormont Lodge in January 2017 and has settled in very well.
Staff have been great and encouraged her to get involved in activities. She is very well cared for.

My mother went up for respite for 2 weeks she lasted 4 days, she was left in a room on the upper level, not able to move without help. The main problem for her was when she needed help she would ring the buzzer and would often sit for hours until someone came.

All of the residents are elderly and have some form of dementia. Each resident has his or her own needs and each is treated individually in a manner suited to these needs, all with real personal care which is the top priority with every member of the staff. The home exudes a feeling of warm friendliness
and quiet contentment. At all times there is at least one member of staff present, attending to the slightest need of any resident.

She has consistently impressed, stepping up from Care Assistant to Senior Carer, gained increasing qualifications with BCG, and transferred to Stormont Lodge over a year ago to take up the role as Deputy Manager and now achieved her promotion as Home Manager.
