This friendly home offers many fantastic amenities which include a lovely garden which is tended by residents, an on-site hair salon and pretty patio area.

My sister spent 18 months in Strathtay Care Home, Perth, where she was very well looked after. The staff were all extremely caring and went the extra mile.
At no time did I ever smell anything but a very fresh and clean smell and the home was immaculate.

Mum was only in Strathtay House for 5 days before she very suddenly passed away. We cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for her. They were very kind, helpful and caring to mum. She was very content and relaxed in Strathtay House and had even made friends in the few days she was there, I would
certainly recommend the home to others.

The staff in this care home are wonderful.
My mother was very well taken care of.
When she passed away, the family were treated with dignity and respect.
During the time of my mother's passing (palliative care) until the actual time of passing (on Sunday). The staff made sure mum was comfortable
and the family wanted for nothing.

My mother was hospitalised for 2 weeks with pneumonia and her lymphedema. On her return to Strathtay, she required a greater than usual awareness of her condition ie encouragement to eat and drink, close monitoring and treatment of her lymphedema and increased support in moving around. The staff were
very attentive to her increased needs and she is much improved in mobility, appetite, lymphedema and "looks" herself again.

Mum was well cared for and looked after at Strathtay. When Mum came out of hospital it was quite daunting for her, and us her family, to know she wasn’t going back to her own home. The manager was very understanding and, along with the staff, helped us all with the transition but most of all Mum. A
very friendly, caring, efficient place.

Due to health reasons, I have not been up for a while. Spoke to my sister the other day and I asked her if she was still enjoying it. Her reply was "yes". Everybody is good. Nurses and staff are very good and food is lovely. What more can you ask for?

After one year of my father being in care, I have found all staff helpful and professional. Any issues that have arisen, they have been attended to promptly and efficiently. My father's views are, he says he has settled in fine, and likes all the staff. His only struggle is the food!
He is just a bit
"fussy", not seen as a problem though.


I have just had a meeting with senior staff and we have been over all areas relating to my father, I am more than happy that all his needs and requirements are being met.

My uncle is well cared for, they are very kind to him. His room is lovely and clean, the food is fresh, appetising and they get a wide variety.
The staff care friendly and caring although many are foreign they speak good english and my uncle gets on well with them.
The building is well maintained
and the décor is fresh and inviting.

Staff are kind and caring toward residents. Daily activities are provided to stimulate and provide entertainment. Support provided for relatives ie. my elderly mother when she comes to visit. Relatives treat mum with courtesy when visiting. Overall very pleased with the care home.

I have absolutely no worries that my mother is in this care home. Every one of the staff whom I have met are excellent. The litmus test is seeing how well mother is cared for and she appears at ease. I am particularly impressed by the state of cleanliness and lack of odour from the surroundings. I am
so lucky my mother managed to secure placement in Strathtay House a credit to all the staff and manager, well done Strathtay House.

Gina Laqueo

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, kind care is putting our Resident’s wishes, feelings and preferences at the heart of everything we do.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Gina has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked with HC-One since 2004, Gina closely shares the company’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Gina remarked:


“I love working hard to create a welcoming home for our Residents and a positive working environment for our team.”


Gina moved to the UK sixteen years ago and feels like Scotland is her home now but very is proud to have provided a good life for her family in the Philippines. In her spare time, Gina likes to keep busy travelling, walking, hiking, swimming and going out with friends.
