My father is currently a resident of this home. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and Dementia and he receives excellent quality of care in a beautiful home in the most gorgeous setting. It is so comforting for my mum and us children to know that he is being looked after with such care and dignity by dedicated
staff.

My Father went into Respite in Barrhall shortly after my mother passed away. It was a difficult decision but we knew that Dad couldn’t be cared for safely at home. He settled in really well and the staff were so caring and supportive that we asked for a permanent place. My father had always spent his
weekends hill walking in the mournes and also, sailing when he was younger. His bedroom overlooked the narrows and the mournes - not just that but the staff have explored those memories with him and that has been so positive. His life has also been so enriched with the many activities that staff engage the residents in - especially during the lockdown. The manager also gives us, as a family, regular updates and we still feel very involved in his care.
