Pinewood Residential Home is located in pleasant surroundings that include sea and countryside views, within which residents can receive quality residential care and live a relaxing lifestyle.

All of the 45 en-suite rooms are fully furnished and tastefully decorated but care workers actively encourage residents to personalise their room as much as possible. Some rooms have a balcony or patio.

A team of qualified staff is motivated to ensure that individual dignity is maintained, and quality of life is enhanced, in a relaxed atmosphere, 24 hours a day.

Residents' medical needs are met through an excellent liaison system between their GPs and the Island health professionals. Voluntary and religious support is always available.

Regular visits from entertainers and in-house activities provide an enjoyable social life for residents, involvement in which is optional.

A wide choice of quality menus are prepared by qualified chefs, to meet all dietary requirements. Waitress service is provided in a delightful dining room and personal service is available for those who wish to eat in the privacy of their room.

They offer permanent and short stay, convalescent and respite care to residentially and non-residentially qualified people.

The experienced management team at Pinewood, led by the resident Head of Home, ensures that high standards of care are maintained at all times.

Mum has been at Pinewood for the past two years and in that time she has had such wonderful care from all of the staff. We are extremely grateful for the dedicated staff ensuring Mum is in a safe and comfortable place. There are weekly visits from a hairdresser which all ladies love, hopefully when
there are long periods of absence due to holiday these could be covered in the future. Overall we are delighted with the services provided and heartfelt thanks to everyone.

Pinewood is a welcoming and pleasant residential facility with friendly and caring staff and management. The main issue with the facility is that it's dated and tired and could do with a major freshen-up. Whilst centrally located, parking can be a major issue but appears to have improved recently.

We recently finished renovating the dining room and are currently in the process of decorating all the corridors within the home. Unfortunately, due to the number of staff and visitors, the car park can be difficult to park in. We are currently working on expanding our outside storage area to create another car parking space. My father is a resident as he was too much for me at home. The carers and all the staff are magnificent and so genuinely caring. Dad is very happy and I think this has been really good for him and he's met lots of new friends.

The parents moved here in January 2023 and they were made to feel very welcome and secure quickly. They are very well looked after laundry and food etc. However, Mum's hygiene could be better but unfortunately, the staff can't force her to shower. The staff are all so nice, helpful and friendly.

My mother-in-law had nothing but praise for everyone at Pinewood. She said the staff couldn't have been more helpful. When we first went to visit Pinewood, we sat down with the manager who immediately put my mother-in-law at ease. Showed her around etc, and she felt very comfortable knowing where she
was going and which room and my husband and I were happy leaving her there knowing she was in such good hands. 10/10.

Whilst the home is caring and warm, it lacks a number of facilities that are required for the residents such as a wet room. The shower rooms are pathetic and require refurbishment. There are several cracked and broken tiles. Some rooms would benefit from an en-suite shower. The food, when delivered
to the rooms, is often cold as there is no heated trolley to deliver it. Many of the residents accept this without complaint. Some of the food is very badly cooked. The soup is good, as is the fish. Chips have improved but some of the desserts leave a lot to be desired, especially the pancakes.
New carpets are desperately required. They are stained and out of date. The decor in communal areas looks very tired.
The home is short-staffed with cleaners and carers covering for waitresses.
The call bells sometimes don’t work and it can take as long as 20 minutes to be answered.

Our mother was with Pinewood Residential Care Home for two weeks care while family members off-island. She was very happy with her room and found all the staff nice, popping in to see all ok or if she needed anything. It was spotlessly clean. Her compliments to the chef, food was always hot and very

An amazing experience for us both. My husband came here for respite whilst I was having a knee replacement, and then I joined him for a few weeks at Pinewood. A wonderful example of 'care for the elderly'. Delightful management, and all staff of the highest calibre, friendly, helpful and the kindest
team of all. The overall standard of this establishment is of the highest and we thank them all for a great experience.

I'm so glad I chose Pinewood to aid my recovery post-op. From entering the building you are made to feel extremely welcome. All the staff are a great testament to how you should be treated with the utmost care and compassion. Nothing is ever too much. The facilities are a wonderful statement of making
your stay feel like a home from home. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.

I have been in Pinewood for over three years and I have never had one complaint to make. I love my room. The glass door opens onto the lawn, there are shrubs and pine trees. There is a lovely view over the countryside. Everyone from the matron to the staff and cleaners are excellent. I can't say more.

I had hip replacement surgery and the day before discharge my husband tested positive for covid. He was able to book me a room at Pinewood Residental Home, Jersey for respite care. I have been most impressed with the level of care from all the staff and every meal has been delicious. I have been able

The process of sending my parents-in-law to Pinewood was made very easy by the very helpful and friendly staff. They first came for a look around and had lunch, then later when they come out of hospital their transport to Pinewood was all arranged. All the queries we have are answered, the items they
require are provided with efficiency and they are enjoying the food and the environment. My father-in-law has signs of dementia and he is looked after well when he gets confused.

I stayed at Pinewood for a period of two weeks while my wife had a delayed holiday in Cornwall. The management and staff were first rate and provided help and care in very practical ways when required. Activities were well organised. I would thoroughly recommend the home.

Sofia

Sofia Vieira

Job Title: Receptionist

Joined: 2016

Sofia has been working with Pinewood Residential Home for 4 and half years.
Sofia started her career with Pinewood as a Carer initially and is now working as a part time Receptionist at Pinewood. Sofia really enjoys her new role at Pinewood.


Sofia enjoys interacting with all the residents and their families. She particularly enjoys welcoming people into the Home which she states provides her with great job satisfaction. Her people skills are excellent; we can understand why this role suited her very well. Sofia is very versatile and will put her hand to anything.


On a personal note, Sofia was born in Madeira and is a proud mother two lovely children a daughter aged 12, her daughter enjoys dance and is regularly attending Street Dancing classes, at the end of the year they put on a big show for parents and friends. Her son is 22 and he is currently at Oxford University studying to be a primary school teacher.


In her spare time Sofia likes to go walking, watching documentaries and movies on tv and spending time with her family. A dedicated mother who puts every effort into her home life with family and her job. What we would call a real star!
Sofia said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Merissa and Kim for encouraging me in my career and welcoming me into my new role as receptionist at Pinewood”.


Sofia is a reliable member of staff, we are very fortunate to have her working for us at Pinewood, she is a great asset to our team!


Istvan

Istvan Molnar

Job Title: Chef

Joined: 2004

Istvan was born in Hungary and started working at Pinewood Residential Home 17 years ago, prior to that he worked in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.
Istvan enjoys a very active life outside of the home with his love of skiing and fitness exercise. Istvan also enjoys watching Sporting events especially Formula One.
Istvan enjoys his role here at Pinewood and is an expert on nutrition and the wellbeing for all.

Ioana has been working at Pinewood Residential since August 2021 she started as a senior carer and recently changed job titles and is now our full time Activities Manager.
A creative and multi-talented individual. Her main hobbies are crafts, she can create beautiful decorations from shells, driftwood, and sea glass, Ioana also makes natural soaps and cosmetics from products she forages or grows in her garden.
Ioana was born in Romania, in the heart of Transylvania, in a small town in the mountains called Victoria.
Ioana graduated university in Bucharest, with a bachelor’s degree in counselling and a master’s degree in social work and is a qualified social worker.
When Ioana arrived in Jersey on holiday in 2014 she liked it so much she decided to stay. Before that she lived in Germany, where she worked in social care.
In her free time, Iona has said she likes to be outdoors, swimming, hiking or just enjoying a drink with friends on the beach. I love to travel and have visited- many places and made friends across Europe. I also like to go to concerts.
