Ashmead Care Centre provides specialised care for older people living with a wide range of nursing needs including physical disabilities.

Conveniently located close to Putney Heath and easily accessible by local transport, the home has recently been completely refurbished and is fresh and modern throughout, providing a high level of comfort for residents. WiFi is available throughout the home.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their own private homely space, whilst the wide range of communal areas are more suited to spending time with friends and family or taking part in one of the varied activities on offer.

The home takes pride in its feedback, ensuring that staff work to nurture a positive and uplifting environment where families and pets are welcome to visit and spend time in the home.

The activity team organise a varied programme of daily events and one-to-one activities including baking, arts and crafts, reminiscence therapy and indoor games. There is regular contact with the local community, from entertainers to local schools and groups.

My father came to Ashmead straight from hospital after having a fall and with Alzheimer's. It was in the middle of coronavirus in March. The staff I spoke to have been very helpful and kind and let me FaceTime him. I feel he is in the right place in safe hands. One member of staff, in particular, is
an angel! My mother visited him for the first time in 3 months which is fantastic. (My ratings are based on the fact I haven't seen all the facilities.)

My mother received excellent care at a very difficult time due to COVID-19 pandemic. The care and nursing staff did a very good job of keeping us informed and helped all my family to communicate with my mother in her final days. The standards of care were very high and all staff was helpful and supportive.
I fully recommend this care home to others.

The care my mother has been given at Ashmead Care Home has been outstanding. As a family, we cannot thank the staff enough. Mum has always feared going into a home, she has been quite happy here. The staff are so kind and understanding. It has been a very worrying and difficult time, as it has been
for many others, but our calls every day have been treated with kindness and understanding. It has been possible for us on a few occasions to video call mum, or she has been brought to the office for our call. Nothing has been too much trouble. I would if possible name staff, I am only sorry we never got to actually meet them, as we were obviously unable to visit. Mum has told us the home is very clean and the food is lovely, in her words "good wholesome food" She says the staff are very kind. Many many thanks.

During my visit to a friend today and a few weeks ago I saw residents being cared for in a very respectful manner. The staff maintained the resident's dignity at all times and cared for them in a friendly, kindly manner. Thank you to all the care staff for all they do to care for and support each other
and the residents on Lavender Unit.

I attended a memorial service in memory of my mother aged 96, who sadly passed away in April 2019. She was a resident for 18 months and was so well cared for. The staff were absolutely wonderful and it was lovely to meet up with them all again and thank them for all their caring work. The service was
so well organised and both myself and my family will continue to support Ashmead over the coming years. God bless to them all.

Overall, my mother was looked after very well, for the last 16 months she was in there for. All the staff seem to treat her as it was their own mother.

My mother came to Ashmead in September 2015. She passed away in February 2019. For approximately three and a half years I visited her almost every Sunday unless my wife and I were on holiday. I found all the staff friendly but professional and always welcomed you. My mother and I were very satisfied
with the care, room and food.
Two carers were especially helpful and I like to think my mother was happy to her last day.

My mother was in Ashmead Care Centre from February 2018 to February 2019, when she passed away. I cannot thank the care home enough. The staff and everybody looked after my Mum so well. They were fantastic. The world would be a better place if there were more people in the world like the staff/carers
at Ashmead. As a family, we were truly blessed.

Although the staff are very considerate there is a real lack of basic care. For example, they are not washed on a regular basis and beds are not changed on a regular basis. There are no male carers on the first floor but seems to be no lack of them on other floors. My husband only has one shower a week
and often doesn't get that because of the lack of male carers.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hello, my name is Luminita and I am the Home Manager at Ashmead.


I am a wife and a mother born, raised and trained in Romania where I practiced paediatric nursing before moving to the UK. I trained to become an adult nurse (RGN), and I am proud to have worked as a senior carer, an RGN, Clinical Lead, the Deputy Manager and the Home Manager in the same care home, Ashmead where I continue to be the Home Manager today. I am passionate about delivering great care to the people living with us and as a Home Manager, I take pride in not only providing good quality care but also great hospitality services to the people that live with us. I believe in continuing professional development and supporting my staff to develop themselves to grow in their careers. It has been a very rewarding journey so far as my 34 years of nursing continues at Ashmead, and I aim to continue to help improve our services for our residents.
