With Collingwood Court Care Home, I have found to have some exceptional staff but also some of the worst staff and their attitude to work ethics. One of the excellent staff there is an activities lady she is very good at communicating with the residents and is continuing to listen to the resident's
requirements and coming up with new ideas and trips to entertain them. The activities are fun for the residents and their families. She makes everyone feel part of a huge family. She would go the extra mile to ensure that the time spent there is as pleasant as possible.


We have found her to be very helpful and have always treated my father with care and dignity. She is dedicated and polite and always ready to help. She is are always smiling and happy.


I have no hesitation in recommending the activities lady to share her enthusiasm and commitment for her job to other staff there as some carers are so bad/dangerous they should not be working in the profession.

We are pleased with the facilities and service offered at Collingwood Court, especially the warm and friendly welcome from the staff whenever we visit. The care home has a relaxed and calm atmosphere and always looks clean and smells fresh.

Such a pleasant care home. They bake fresh cakes that taste unreal. The staff always find a way to make my mum laugh and they are also very nice with the other residents when I am there as well. I’m so happy my mum came here.

The staff at Collingwood Court are excellent. They looked after my partner for the last five years of her life. They treated her with respect, kept her safe and showed her love. Words cannot express my gratitude to the staff. They were my partners, second family.

My twin brother was an end of life resident and received attentive care and support from both nurses and carers. The family received good communication from the nurses and carers on a daily basis. I enjoyed visiting the home as the staff were welcoming with a genuine caring attitude. My brother's daily
well being was an important factor as staff ensured his enjoyment of each day.

I've been visiting my mother who has been a resident here for about 3 months and have only praise for the compassion and general treatment she has received here.


All members of the staff here have been most friendly and considerate at all times to my niece and myself. Add to that the decoration,

cleanliness and general condition of the home is of the highest order.

The care staff are very committed, open and genuine in how they interact with my mum. The way they care for her needs shows compassion and understanding. The manager and admin staff have been fantastic in how they have supported me and my mum through the settling in period and continuing care, interest
and support of both Mum's needs and my wellbeing.

Dad was in Collingwood Court for the last 3 months of his life. He was well looked after in the Palliative care, Diana Ward. The staff were always kind, caring and very friendly. They treated him with respect and dignity. As a family, we were always made to feel welcome and all the staff from reception
to nurses and carers could not have been more helpful and kind.

My mother went into Collingwood for respite care while my father was in hospital. We were very pleased with the care she received. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were very patient. The rooms were spotlessly clean and mum put on weight while she was in there as she enjoyed the food.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Collingwood.

With a heavy heart, expecting disappointment, I started looking for somewhere to care for my stepfather for the last few weeks of his struggle with cancer. As soon as the door opened I was impressed.


Staff are so friendly, caring and compassionate. Their expertise and attention to details are matched

by their humanity and "love" they show to each resident. Clean and well equipped, each member of staff from reception to manager to cleaner provides an excellent service.

In the home, (at the moment) there is a new manager, deputy manager, new building (which is great), in-house training is in place and communication and friendliness is better. It takes time and we are all trying. Visitors and staff are allowed to speak their minds and are receiving support with our
complaints.


Overall I like it and hope it stays that way.

The care my wife has had and is having is beyond my expectations. The staff are very caring and work hard to look after residents.

Hazel Wing - My mother has Lewy Body Dementia and has lived in the care home for over three years. The care home is always clean and tidy and the residents also seemed clean and well groomed. The carers work hard to meet the needs of the residents, taking time and care with feeding them and keeping
them safe.


The management appears to change too often with the person in post not having time to understand how the home works before being replaced. Also, some referrals to the home seem inappropriate, very mobile and difficult for the staff to keep in order.
