It was difficult for both me and my mother when we knew the time had come for her to go into a care home. However, we could not have asked for a better place for her to spend her last days. All of the staff were kind and caring. Her medical issues were dealt with competently allowing her to retain
her dignity. The daily menus had an excellent selection and were well prepared - in fact her only complaint was that she was gaining weight! And the compassion shown both to her and her family at the end could not have been bettered. Thank you, Cullum Welch.

Completely professional organisation.
I felt confident to leave mother with them.
Individual care meeting needs of each resident, catering to their personality and social capabilities.
Nurse to resident ratio is excellent.
Facilities are marvellous.
My mother settled in within 48 hours and thought
she was in a hotel.
She was reluctant to come home. Excellent food, surroundings and activities. GP visited.
I can't fault the care given to my mother.

Our friend was only in there for 12 days but the short time he was in there he couldn't have asked for better care and treatment. The staff were excellent they couldn't do enough for my friend and also for any visitors he had.

The nursing home has made my 91-year-old mother extremely welcome. They have done everything possible to make her transfer from her home a very good experience. The staff are extremely kind and supportive to her and also to me. She is happy to be there and confident in the care she will receive. I couldn't
be happier with our choice of nursing home.

Staff are very caring and professional. Food is very good, with plenty of choice and fresh fruit salad is always available.

I would not hesitate in recommending Cullum Welch Court to anyone needing respite care.

I would definitely recommend Cullum Welch to others. My mother had a calm and relaxing respite stay. She was treated with dignity and respect. In a short space of time (just over 2 weeks) she got to know the caring and attentive staff. The staff has also taken the time to get to know my mum's humour
and interests. The grounds of the home are lovely and add to a restorative and serene atmosphere.

A journey from surgery through recovery at Cullum Welch Court. Quiet efficiency that runs through its corridors every second of a 24 hour day. Each member of staff plays their role to utter perfection interlocking all aspects of care. My consultant surgeon told me my operation had gone very well and
so started my road to recovery. I have no doubt my 12 days stay at Cullum Welch Court enhanced his work and road to full recovery. I am aware how fortunate I have been to have been given a place at Cullum Welch Court post-op and I can do no more than to say thank you to Modern College for allowing me this facility.

My father moved to Cullum Welch Court, Morden College following several falls and subsequently increased frailty in October 2016.
The care he received until his death in February 2017 was really exceptional. The staff were kind, gentle and patient and established a lovely rapport and friendship with
my father. They treated him as an individual and never were patronising but always listened to him and did their utmost to make life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Unlike too many "institutions", Cullum Welch Court, Morden College is run for the benefit of and in the interest of the patient rather than "the system". If only all nursing homes would be like this. The grounds are also beautiful.

On my arrival at Callum Welch Court Care Home. I was shown to my own persona room which included toilet and a wet room. Once settle I was visited by a health worker who showed me the dining room and T.V. Lounges which were comfortably furnished, clean and well it also visitors room with refreshment
facilities if required. After I was visited by a nurse who also advised me on my medication also by a physiotherapist who advised and gave exercise lessons. The food was excellent with plenty of choices hot and cold meals three times a day. I cannot praise the staff highly enough who were helpful, obliging and happy in all they do for you. The bottom line is the staff really do care.

Mum had late stage cancer and was in for end of life care. She was looked after superbly by everyone, from management, carers, domestic and kitchen staff. All played an active role in treating my mum with respect and dignity and treating her like a family member.
Her pain relief and comfort was handled
well and compassionately. There is also a doctor who visits the home several times per week. This took pressure off of us as a family so we could concentrate on mum.
I could not have received better treatment for mum anywhere.

Our father moved to Morden College because the home he was in no longer gave nursing care.
The nursing at Morden College is excellent and the ulcers he had suffered from for nearly a year have virtually healed. That is due to dedicated nursing care.
Her mobility is beginning to improve with physiotherapy
and exercises.
Everyone is very friendly and genuinely very caring.
Nothing is too much trouble.
We're very happy he is being looked after so well.

When mother was in hospital and I learnt her diagnosis to be terminal, panic set in, not really knowing what to do. The hospital and NHS were brilliant recommending this home on their list of care homes. Once the approach was made and procedures concluded very quickly she was accepted. To date, I cannot
fault the home. They have been brilliant to mother but also to me and my sisters. Panic has turned to assurance and confidence that mother is in very good hands.

My mother has been a temporary resident in this home for two and a half weeks following knee replacement surgery. The home is outstanding in all aspects. The staff are efficient, kind and very caring, and the overall organisation is excellent. The food is of a very high standard with lots of choice
and variety. Always fresh and nutritious. The home is spotlessly clean and in beautiful surroundings. The garden is lovely. It is impossible to find any fault and I would highly recommend it.

My mother stayed here for four weeks respite care following a hospital stay. The level of care was excellent. All the staff were smiling and friendly and my mother felt safe and happy. The grounds are beautiful and residents are taken into the garden if they can not get there themselves.

Cullum Welch Court is the most beautiful environment surrounded by incredible buildings and gardens. It is always calm and peaceful here, despite being located in Greenwich, London. My mother needs extensive and time consuming care, which she always receives from the friendly, kind and professional
staff.
There is a good staff ratio which remains stable and therefore all staff know my mother well. There is also an excellent range of facilities, activities and entertainment as well as very good extra medical support and such as physiotherapists. My brother and I are also always welcomed by the staff. This is a perfect place for my mother at this stage of her life and I am so glad she is there.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.779)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.779) out of 10 for Cullum Welch Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.879 for Cullum Welch Court is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.879

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cullum Welch Court is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
