Ellesmere House is a strikingly modern, purpose-built care home located in the heart of Chelsea. The team provides nursing and residential care for older people, including those with physical disabilities or who are living with dementia.

The home is arranged into four separate bright and airy suites, each with its own dining room and lounge. Residents are welcome to enjoy the facilities at Ellesmere House including a cinema room, activity room and hair and beauty salon.

Outside are two secure sensory gardens with lawns and an area where residents can grow flowers and plants of their own choice.

The team spends time getting to know residents individually, allowing them to create personalised care and lifestyle plans, suited to each person’s needs.

    other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
    an agreed hourly charge for this service.

This lovely, bright care team cares for both my grandmother and my father, both of whom are suffering with variations of dementia and Parkinson's disease. The staff are unbelievably kind, caring and encouraging. They are always upbeat and patient and the dignified care that they provide is so appreciated
by my relatives, residents and by myself and my sister. They take time to get to know an individual's preferences and give good updates each time we visit as well as regular phone calls when they have concerns or want to update on a doctors visit.
The rooms are very bright, always clean and both the rooms and common parts are pleasant smelling. The food is good and plentiful with fruit, cakes and biscuits always available outside of meal times. I am most impressed by the times I have seen staff just one on one with a resident, taking time to sit and talk or just wait a while with them so that they aren't lonely. I'm so grateful for the care they provide.

My husband passed away in July 2018. He was Ellesmere for about a year. He had the beginning of dementia and could not walk or move without help.
All I can say is that this nursing home was wonderful and the staff were so kind and compassionate. He always looked good, clean, tidy and smiling. I visited
every single day. Thank you all.

Since my arrival in 2015, I have found that the overall care is adequate but due to a shortage of staff (not all!) We do not have an activity sheet anymore and the same food is uninviting and no proper taste fruit juices are supplied. I realise the location of the home is an expensive area, but the
monthly bill is confusingly high to meet the above needs this needs to be readdressed.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your scores and your review of Ellesmere House. In regards to the staffing levels in the home, we always make sure that we have enough team members to run a safe and effective service, both throughout the day as well as night, seven days a week. However, we did have some temporary team shortages at the end of last year, and in order to continue to run the home at a high standard, we did have to use some agency staff. Although these individuals were fully trained and experienced, we do realise that this is no substitute for people working permanently in the home who are able to build long-lasting relationships with residents. With this in mind, I’m very pleased to let you know that we have recently recruited several new members to the team who have already joined us, and several others have been recruited who will be joining us very soon. In regards to dining, we understand the importance of good food and nutrition on both emotional as well as physical wellbeing, and our chef works hard to prepare meals in-house from fresh ingredients. We always offer choice and menus that are created around the wishes of residents, so we will of course work with you to ensure that some of your favourites are included. The home manager will arrange to speak with you in person, but of course please do let the manager or any of the senior team at any time know or in the future if you have any concerns, suggestions or questions and we’ll be happy to help.

Ellesmere House is warm and welcoming and my mother has been cared for in a caring and sensitive way. It is such a relief to know that she is being cared for at all times.
The home tries hard to involve the residents in many activities and there are opportunities for everyone to be involved.

I had a great short stay in Ellesmere House after an operation. I had an excellent experience at the home - I am in my 50's and was a low maintenance patient.
I found the staff very good and caring, I felt safe to be in that environment after my operation. A good service for people recovering from
an operation, as well as caring for long-term patients.

My dad is extremely disabled (half paralysed, double incontinent and high risk of choking). In 2015 he ended up having three unnecessary surgeries because a previous care home neglected my dad. I had to change his home and thanks to God, we have received the appropriate care and support in Ellesmere
House. The manager is always happy to help and treats us so fairly and shares a high amount of professionalism. The chef helped me to give dad the appropriate pureed food. Finally, the room is great and the building is always clean.

My mother lived at Ellesmere for 4 and a half years and received excellent care from a compassionate staff group throughout. This was particularly evident in her final days when she was treated with extreme tenderness and care. Staff listened to the family and made everything possible for Mum's final
days to be as comfortable as possible. The staff do an amazing job. They are friendly, willing, patient and really care for the people they look after. Well done to the team at Ellesmere.

Job Title: Home Manager

I first joined Care UK as the goals and visions of the company aligned well with my personal beliefs and aspirations.


The team are well taken care of, and there is true dedication from all the team and strong leadership from top to bottom.


Being offered a job as a Home Manager has been the biggest highlight of my career so far. When I joined the company as a registered nurse six years ago, I never dreamt I would one day lead my own team.


Each day I enjoy feeling confident that all the needs of the people we are trusted to care for are met, they are safe, and they are well looked after. It gives me great personal satisfaction.


I am proud that I have carried the team with me in fulfilling the vision of the company. Having among the highest staff retention rates in the region and company is also a highlight for me. To see residents and relatives choose us daily. To see residents dignified and with their wishes met at their end of life, as evidenced by reviews, is quite humbling.
