The Highgate Care Home provides nursing and residential care for both older people with complex care needs and younger adults with physical disabilities. Convalescence (recovering from an operation), respite and palliative care plans are also available, advanced bookings for short stay accepted. Same day assessments and admissions can be accommodated.

Situated within large landscaped gardens in the picturesque village of Highgate, the home features tastefully decorated interiors. Accommodation includes bright and comfortable lounge areas that are ideal for entertaining or simply relaxing, as well as furnished bedrooms, some with ensuite facilities and balconies overlooking the gardens.

Residents can choose from a wide range of meal options each day, all of which are freshly prepared with seasonal ingredients. Special occasions for residents are always celebrated and often involve a homemade cake! The home also provides Kosher food.

There's a real sense of community at The Highgate. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether loved ones already have a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. From flower arranging and movie afternoons to beauty mornings and visiting entertainers and shows - there is a full social calendar. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Care is excellent and care home is very clean. Easy to get to by bus and all in all a very nice place with wonderful and caring staff.

My friend has been with the Highgate care home now for 9 months. I go to see him every week and I must say, the team are wonderful, they work so hard and I’m glad my friend is in such a lovely place being cared for by such lovely people. Whatever the query or issue, they are always prompt and sorting

This is my second visit to The Highgate Care Home. It does not disappoint. Staff at all levels are welcoming, professional and caring. Food is of a higher standard than one could reasonably expect, with excellent choices each day. I have also been impressed by the dedication to provide social activities
under the extreme conditions of a pandemic. Every day the tireless team arrange attractive events, some online, which residents clearly enjoy.

Mum had been very ill post-emergency surgery and needed 24-hour quality nursing care while she recovered. The care and attention she received at Highgate were excellent. They all took the time to understand and support her particular needs and made sure she had all the support, care and attention she
needed, and kept us well informed during a very difficult time. Everyone has been so patient and sympathetic, as well as going out of their way to help us all. Most grateful.

I have been a resident for 4-years; all staff come across professional and caring. The carers on the floor are very kind and look after me well. The food is generally good and appetising. My bell is usually answered within a good time frame.

The team at The Highgate Care Home are incredible at their job! They are extremely friendly and genuinely caring, which has been a great comfort to our family. Our Uncle is well taken care of, and on several occasions, they organised video calls during the Covid lockdown as we were not able to visit.
So grateful to them!

I find on every occasion that I have visited Highgate Care Home the staff have been most helpful, going out of their ways to make things easier for the visitors and the patients. The garden and the outlook from all angels is very ver pleasant, the surroundings are in an ideal place of Waterlow Park,
and I would recommend that anyone staying in the care home will be very happy.

I can confirm that the nursing home is looking after my sister very well, we are all as a family very grateful especially a time like this, they make sure we have a video call at least once a week thanks to the first-floor staff. Thanks again to all the staff.

Care staff are friendly and kind-hearted and go out of their way to make me happy.
The food is bland and repetitive, would like to see more traditional dishes.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the picnic and BBQ in the garden and the outdoor music therapy group. I attend the exercise class and I’m sure
with time and effort I will succeed in enjoying the results.

My mum has been with The Highgate Care Home for 11 years this year.
The Highgate staff have been truly attentive to all of her needs throughout her time being there and she has been able to build good relationships with all the staff.
The staff have been very creative to be able to tend to her ever-growing
and fussy demands and this is done in a way which makes her feel included in everything.
I would recommend this care home to anyone, my family and I have felt truly supported throughout my mum's stay and I know they will continue to do so.

I originally came to Highgate for respite during the pandemic. I am very happy here; I was offered a lovely room with a balcony and enjoy sitting out having lunch overlooking the garden.
The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for me; this applies to both day and night staff. I have enjoyed
the social distance music group and speaking to my family virtually. The food is generally very good.

Previous change of management and procedures have improved the run of the home. Still, more work is needed. Renovations are planned and extremely overdue. Service of residents, daily care and nursing have improved. More attention is required in planning food and menus, especially food served in the
evenings. Some meals are too heavy to digest for the bedridden. Improvements are not instant. It takes times, but signs are positive.

I have always found Highgate care home a very good place to send any loved one to. The politeness of all the staff, whether they are nurses, carers or auxiliary staff, is very reassuring. I have very little to complain about and my brother has never complained about any mistreatment. He does not talk
much but I know that he would complain to me if he is unhappy about something. I have found on very few occasions that there is a shortage of staff and perhaps this can be addressed. The food is good most of the time and his care is very good.

I came to The Highgate when I was very ill around 7 months ago, I have since then received good care from the staff who got me up on my feet, I can do things I couldn’t do before due to ill health. I am an active member and I enjoy going to all the activities provided, I found, in particular, Christmas
was very special for me and my family at The Highgate, the decorations were magical the entertainment was wonderful and the whole atmosphere was very jolly. My family were very impressed at the 'Residents and Relatives Christmas Party'. My family have no fear in leaving me after a visit as they know I am well looked after. Things I have requested are always done. I feel I am content living at The Highgate.

I do not like being in a care home, but as it was necessary for a few weeks, this care home is good. I feel safe at night in case I fall. The food has been good and I have put on some weight. I could have benefitted from more exercise. Staff are welcoming to my friends. If circumstances change for the
worse I will come back.

As a Registered Nurse and Home Manager, I am committed to delivering the very highest standard of care to all my residents, alongside my highly qualified team at The Highgate.

Sabrina Martin is a dedicated and experienced registered general nurse based in London, UK. She completed her BSc in Adult Nursing from Middlesex University in September 2019. Sabrina has since worked in various healthcare settings, including acute hospital wards, community nursing, and care homes.
