Westcombe Park is a modern care home situated in a pleasant leafy neighbourhood of south-east London. Here, they warmly welcome residents in need of nursing or residential care. They also provide respite and convalescence care.

Every bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated to create a warm and homely atmosphere. Most of the bedrooms are en suite. It can also accommodate couples with double rooms.

The home is close to local transport links, is a few minutes’ drive from the A2 and benefits from a bus route stopping directly outside the home, making visiting for family and friends easier. The care home is also only a few minutes’ walk to local amenities, shops and the local bank.

Two of the care team were fantastic - we didn't want to put our Dad into a care home but had no choice as he needed 24-hour care - our minds were put at rest when we met these lovely ladies, so caring and kind, and very understanding of the needs our Dad required. The carers were brilliant during our
Dad's short stay and I am very grateful for the kindness they gave my Dad to the end of his life.

My mum spent her last thirteen weeks in Westcombe Park Nursing Home and I would like to thank all of the staff including the little lady who brought Mum's water to her, for the outstanding care that Mum received in her last few weeks before she passed away.

As a family, we are full of gratitude for the way the staff at Westcombe Park look after our now 99-year-old father. His emotional, physical and spiritual needs are met, the staff keep us fully informed, facilitate phone and video calls, are responsive to requests and are proactive in ensuring that
we work in partnership. We have valued this efficient and caring approach even more during the last 18 months when visits had to be suspended for long periods of time due to lockdowns and government guidance. We never had to worry that Dad would not be well-cared for and the staff demonstrated repeatedly that this confidence was well-placed. From the manager and all administrative staff, through to the kitchen, cleaning, laundry, care and nursing staff, we have nothing but admiration and appreciation. We would recommend Westcombe Park without hesitation.

Having visited the care home for over a decade and still doing so, may I say that I have nothing but admiration in the way the home is run. My relative has always had the best treatment, we have always been informed of any problems and have worked alongside the staff. Care and support from the staff
has been of the highest standard to both resident and family. If I needed my relative to be ready at a certain time, the home made sure they were. The home has always had a fresh smell to it, showing how clean and tidy it always is. On special occasions such as Christmas or Birthdays, the residents would always receive a gift and the staff would join in the celebrations. When management over the years changed, the high standard never diminished. I or should I say we have never regretted having to place our relative under the care of this establishment, even though it was a hard decision to take.

It was my mum's birthday and my first 'inside' visit. We were a group of six and were given a room to use that still allowed social distancing. We were all tested for Covid-19 thirty minutes prior to my mum entering the room. The room had been beautifully decorated with birthday banners and balloons,
the home also provided a cake and some bucks fizz. All the staff were so lovely, friendly and accommodating. When mum entered the room she was so surprised and very spoiled. It's a lovely home, beautifully decorated, clean and very calm.

Myself and some other family members were allowed to go and celebrate mum's birthday yesterday and the care home laid on a lovely little sitting room, banners, balloons, cake and drinks. It was so nice to see mum and she was overcome with it all! In a nice way, of course! She opened her cards and the
manager took photos of us all. Thanks, especially to the events organiser who had the job of arranging everything and doing all the tests, paperwork and PPE sorting out. Westcombe Park is so clean and inviting, the staff are friendly, helpful and kind and I can't fault it! Thanks to all for making mum's 87th birthday special!

My dad has brain cancer. He can only communicate with the words yes/no and facial expressions, which all staff got to understand how he communicates - very good and quick. Staff sit with him, read books and talk about his interests. He smiles a lot again. Patient transport told me it was the most loveliest
welcome they had seen. All staff work great together. It feels like a good family atmosphere.

My dad has been a resident in Westcombe Park Care Home for almost 4 years. He is bedridden and can't walk but in Westcombe Park he gets the best care and support he can get. I feel that Westcombe Park is genuinely his second home where he is surrounded with people who genuinely care for him. He can
get as much peace or attention as he needs. He did have health issues which are taken care of in a swift and professional manner.

Since moving to Westcombe Park, myself and my family can rest easy, knowing that my 91-year-old mother-in-law is now receiving the highest quality of care and support available. The staff really are brilliant and provide an excellent person-centred approach to her. The improvement in her physical and
mental health is outstanding, she really has improved so much. On admission to Westcombe Park, we honestly did not believe that we would have her for much longer, as she had already spent weeks in hospital followed by a step-down unit. We are regularly able to speak to my mother-in-law, she is always very happy and continuously raves about the quality of her meals. My husband receives regular updates regarding her health, wellbeing and care which is extremely welcomed, due to the current lockdown. So a really big thank you to everyone involved in her care.

This last year has been a challenge for everyone. We live 70 miles from the home and have only managed one visit in the last 12 months due to COVID restrictions. We have managed to arrange video calls with our aunt through a member of staff's private phone. We are grateful for this but feel there should
be some kind of video link to enable us to communicate better. A phone is very small for an elderly person to see/handle. On the whole, our aunt has been well cared for and in good health during her time there. They accommodated her request to change rooms, helping her to arrange her personal items. She says the staff are busy and kind, she enjoys having people in and out for various reasons particularly as she had been living on her own for a few years, unable to go out with hardly any contact with others. When calling the home, often no one answers the phone, we understand that staff are busy and the residents should be their priority, but it’s frustrating.

Mum has been a resident since September 2019, following a hospital stay that meant she could no longer live independently. She is bed-bound and needs assistance with her daily requirements. She settled in gradually over her first 6 months, with the help of the staff and then lockdown occurred due to
the pandemic. This meant that visits could not take place, however, the staff helped this difficult time by arranging regular contact by phone to myself, my brother and sister twice-weekly. This was invaluable to my mother but also gave us peace of mind, knowing that she was safe and being cared for. In the summer, visits in an outdoor setting were arranged with social distancing and checks. A birthday visit was possible and the staff made the day special for her. In the run-up to Christmas, arrangements were made for a visitors' pod which allowed safe visits around Christmas. The staff have been excellent with my mother's care and most importantly, my mother has remained safe, well and happy. Thank you.

My father has been a resident for over 8 years and with us living so far away, it is comforting to know that he is well cared for. During the lockdown, because we were unable to visit, we were able to video call my father which was great for all of us. The staff are always pleasant and kind to my father

After calling into the home unannounced on a Sunday afternoon nearly three years ago to look around the home for my mother's cousin, I was taken around all of the home by the duty nurse and was able to speak to both staff and residents openly. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and quality of
care that I saw. The following week, my cousin became a resident and has now been there for nearly three years. She is very happy and well cared for and enjoys taking part in the organized activities. We have found all the staff we have met friendly, helpful, caring and professional in their duty of care. The home is clean and well decorated. During the lock-down, due to the current pandemic, we have been kept regularly informed of the measures being taken and we have received regular updates on my cousin's health. On several occasions, she was helped to contact us by phone and when possible, the home arranged distanced face to face visits in the garden.

My mother has been in this home for over a year now and is bed bound. And there is nothing I can find fault with about this home. This has been a particularly hard year for us, as it has for everyone. Not being able to visit Mum is heartbreaking. However, every time I call her on her mobile, she tells
me how well she is being cared for and how lovely everyone is. Such a relief for us. The home includes us in her care and is in constant touch. Thank you Westcombe Park team.
