Westcombe Park is a modern care home situated in a pleasant leafy neighbourhood of south-east London. Here, they warmly welcome residents in need of nursing or residential care. They also provide respite and convalescence care.

Every bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated to create a warm and homely atmosphere. Most of the bedrooms are en suite. It can also accommodate couples with double rooms.

The home is close to local transport links, is a few minutes’ drive from the A2 and benefits from a bus route stopping directly outside the home, making visiting for family and friends easier. The care home is also only a few minutes’ walk to local amenities, shops and the local bank.

At Westcombe Park, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and try to cater for all ethnicity groups. Soon after a resident arrives at the home, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

The Bupa care home building is of a good standard and welcoming. However, the carpet may need cleaning more frequently due to spills/accidents etc. In places stains/smells from carpet.
Care/support: There needs to be a named person who takes responsibility for residents. Each day all staff on duty
need to update and read patient/residents notes.
More physio needed and activities for those who do not go downstairs.
Food: In a diverse age, all residents "food needs" should be met. This needs to be worked on.

Mum has been here for almost a year now. Initially, she was in her room a lot (20 hours out of 24) however, since the new manager arrived he has made lots of positive changes and there's a lot more going on in the lounge for all the residents to participate in. The staff are all very kind and friendly
and dedicated to their jobs. Mum is happy and feels safe here.

Very good staff. Not enough carers per floor, therefore, carers are rushed and cannot perform their best. The nurses are also rushed since they often work 2 floors instead of one.

Food is not suitable for the elderly, cold food is not good enough for the elderly. My husband has lost a lot of weight because of the food as most old people do not like salad, men at least. My husband has had a sore on his hip, I don't think it is a bed sore but it has become infected, he is on antibiotics
which I am not bothered about. He had the dressing changed on the evening of Wed 14th at 5-6 o'clock when I went in - the same dressing was on at 3 o'clock in the afternoon full of puss. I was not happy with this, you have got too many agency staff working, some good, some bad, this is why you get a bad name. I have done health care for 37 years but this is not good.

The way I and my aunt have been treated has been absolutely wonderful. I would particularly like to mention the lady that gave us a very detailed and helpful introduction to the home before my aunt decided to come, she carried on being extremely helpful and kind after my aunt moved in. I have to say
that the advice, care and concern that she has given to me and my aunt over the time since my aunt came in August has massively helped in settling my aunt in. If all your staff are as committed to Bupa and the resident's needs then my aunt will have a wonderful time.
