Highbury New Park care home is an excellent care facility. My mother is always happy, cared for and all her needs met. Management and staff are always available and happy to help with any concerns. As a family we all feel we are extremely happy and lucky we found this care home for our mum.

I find that the management are very helpful if I have a problem or question to be answered. I also find that the staff are very helpful with any problems. Overall, I find the care home very good compared to others in Islington.

My mother has been living in Highbury New Park care home for some 4/5 years. My brother and I have always been impressed with the care (daily and medical). All staff, particularly the manager and deputy manager, have always been helpful and understanding - most particularly in the recent 18 months with
lockdowns and the Coronavirus pandemic. But all the staff are human and they are, understandably, stressed with the unrelenting pressure. They are tired. An increase in their pay might help. Of course, I cannot comment on food and drink, rooms and activities since there have been many restrictions. I judge it on previous experience.

I found that this care home takes great care in looking after the residents, and make sure they are as comfortable as possible. We know this pandemic has been very hard for the care homes throughout the country, but I can say that this particular home has reacted to the pandemic with great efficiency.

From one day a week daycare to 24/7 residential, the staff have throughout been caring and supportive. My uncle's sad degenerative disease affects not only him but the whole family.
The home has helped and supported us in giving time and information. They are always on hand and ask questions to understand
his life and background, to meet his needs.
In summary, he is safe, warm, fed, clothed, cared for and supported at a time when he needs it most, and we as a family were struggling to cope.

Welcome - very friendly atmosphere, people in charge talk to me and listen and give advice. Residents looked after with loving care, compassion and brought together as a community. Catholic and Anglican service once a month very much appreciated. A wide range of activities meeting the needs of different,
invalid patients.
Many different choices for the residents, plays, songs, TV, everything is celebrated.
A good place to live, domestic staff - wonderful. Feeling of clear hard work. Well done.

The care my mother received a Highbury New Park was all I expected and far more. All her needs, moods and tantrums were dealt with respectfully and in a most caring way. She responded well due to the staff and most of all, the management who were always available to talk.

I have nothing but praise for this care home - the care they provided was exceptional. The staff were always patient and kind to my brother and friendly and welcoming to my sister and I when we visited. I also wish to complement the managers in particular for the group meetings they held with the resident's
relatives which were very helpful. Apart from the dementia, my brother had several health problems but he was always given prompt medical attention. I felt he was very safe in their hands.

My AUnt has been living at the care home since 2005. We sadly nearly lost her a few years ago, however, due to the fantastic care she received we have just celebrated her 99th birthday. The compassion and care that is shown by the care staff it feels like an extension of our own family.

I cannot fault this care home, I found all nursing, management and general staff extremely professional, approachable and very considerate, all of which dealt with my father's wellbeing with the understanding and compassion

The staff are all extremely hard working in all the departments of the home. Managers are excellent, knowledgeable and open to communication. I have every confidence in them. The floor staff are angels. Given that long hours and low pay they really give themselves to their jobs, they are kind to resident
and visitors and it is easy to see how much they actually care about their charges.

I visited every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for approximately 2 1/2 years. In that time ALL the staff were kind, caring and approachable. They were always willing to listen, take on board anything said that would help make my friend's stay a happy time. The medical care was excellent. When the end
was in sight we were kept informed of any change and all the extra care needed. When the end came it was the family etc that the staff cared for as well as the patient. Thank you does not seem enough, but thank you.

My experience of this nursing home is very good. My mother has been here for over two years. She is very happy and I am happy with the care she receives. The activities programme is good and Mum gets involved. My Mum's appetite is not great and the staff do try to get her to eat. Any small thing I have
addressed straight away.

My mother was a resident in Highbury New Park care home for only four weeks.
She was very happy and loved the staff, they loved her she was a great character.
Mum passed away on Monday 30th October and although we were there at the home Sunday all afternoon she was very near end of life we left her
peacefully.
The staff were so caring and attentive to her visitors there Monday afternoon, she passed away at 7.15pm with staff with her, they were fantastic.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career with Care UK over 13 years ago, in 2009 as a General Nurse. Over the years I have worked my way through various positions, then became Home Manager here at Highbury New Park in 2016.


There’s a lovely welcoming family atmosphere here, and always a new challenge to solve. When time allows, I enjoy chatting to the residents and learning more about their lives.
