St. Mary’s Care Home is a privately owned 86-bed purpose-built care home, located in a quiet setting off a residential road in Streatham, South London. The Home provides specialist nursing, residential and dementia care.

All bedrooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished with television, telephone points and 24-hour nurse call system – many are en-suite, some with showers. Residents are encouraged to personalise the bedroom.

Food is cooked freshly on site by the in-house chefs and meals are served either in the spacious dining room, within each wing, or the residents’ own room as preferred.

The home boasts a reminiscence room, a hairdressing salon, a sensory room, 2 private gardens and its own cinema and a residents' pub.

St Mary's runs a varied activities programme for the residents, managed by two coordinators, using the courtyard and garden when the weather is good.

Established in 1931, initially to care for nuns from the adjacent church of the English Martyrs, some of the walls of which form part of the much-extended home, St Mary’s has a beautiful private chapel for services and private prayers.

In January 2022 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave St Mary’s a 'good' inspection rating across all five categories and overall.

My wife has been a resident since February 2024 at St Marys. The staff including carers, nurses and management are all very friendly and very professional, it's a very relaxed atmosphere and all the staff are approachable if you have any questions. The decor and rooms are adequate with light colours
giving a calming feeling. The home has an excellent restaurant and bar and also entertainment twice a week, on the whole, I would say St Marys is very good.

In the 18 months since my sister has been here. The improvement has been immense. She is cared for very well and all the staff on the first floor are very kind and friendly. She has been receiving physio and has improved physically. Long may it continue. The staff deserve all the praise they can get.

Since coming to St Mary's the improvement in my sister's health both physically and mentally, has been nothing but extraordinary. She has had a complete transformation in her behaviour and this I directly attribute to her placement in a home where the care has been second to none. My sister has some
very challenging issues which needed to be addressed and I am so pleased the staff persisted and brought her to a point where she continues to improve.

I have found this home to be exceptional. It has exceeded my expectations. The staff displays care and affection for all the residents. The medical team has been on top of my Godmother's medical needs.
It is clean and safe and the meals are good. There are various activities for the residents where
the staff are hands-on with motivating residents and I have always felt welcome. There is continuity of staff which is great. All very good at St Mary's.

We are so delighted with the care that our friend is receiving, it is so different to where she was before. The carers are always lovely, smiley and friendly. The management and administrative team are also very friendly and kind and always remember you. Our resident has been very happy even when she
finds somethings too much after her previous experience and the staff are patient and kind when she therefore doesn't always want to engage with activities etc.

My brother was transferred from the hospital to spend his last days in the warmth of St Mary's Care Home. Whilst my brother only had days to live and was seriously ill, he received a level of care I could have not anticipated from everyone at St Mary's. This put my mind at rest helping me to handle

I cannot recommend St Mary's highly enough.
Since my friend arrived here I have seen a huge improvement in her well-being.

A lovely calm environment, where a relaxed ambience greets you when you visit. Residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity and the care given to my husband from the kind, compassionate and happy staff, goes above and beyond my expectations. A very well-kept, spotless, tidy place with a
homely feel. The staff are approachable and problems are dealt with immediately and effectively, nothing is too much trouble. Activities focus on enjoyment and the interaction between staff and residents is very heartwarming. I can speak confidently that this is the right place for my husband and I would like to convey my huge thanks to all the staff who have made my life easier and given me peace of mind.

I am very impressed with everyone at St Mary's. I live a long way from the home, but I don't think I would find a better place for my mother if I tried to move her close to my home. It is worth the arduous journey to see how well she is being cared for. It gives me peace of mind. Thanks to all.

I highly recommend this home. The photos don’t do it justice - the home is stunning. Not only is it spotless, the staff are amazing. So friendly, caring and kind. They can’t do enough for my dad, not only him but his family too. It took us two months to find a home, and within that time, we viewed so
many, and none was right, but the moment we stepped into this home, we knew it was the perfect place for him. We know when we leave him there, he is being well looked after; they’ve been great! He loves it there too. I can’t recommend it enough. Please go and view this home and see for yourself how amazing it is. You won’t be disappointed!

My husband has been a resident at St Mary's for almost six months. I visit on a regular basis in the evenings as I work full-time. He is always clean, tidy, appropriately dressed, comfortable and settled in his room. The TV or radio is usually put on for him for company. As this is something he cannot
ask for himself. I find this very thoughtful. Tea is always served hot and at a regular time. On the occasions I have visited in the afternoons, he has been out of bed in a chair or downstairs for activities. When I leave, I have peace of mind knowing he is well looked after.
