The team at Riverlee provide residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. They also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers looking after loved ones at home. They can book a much-needed holiday, or simply take some time to recharge their batteries, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands and enjoying a short break of their own.

The home has welcoming lounges, where residents can enjoy activities and relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

Residents are encouraged to bring pictures, small items of furniture and anything else which makes their bedrooms truly feel like home.

In the dining rooms they enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared by the home’s chef, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays and lighter bites such as home-made soups. And there are freshly baked cakes each for afternoon tea.

There are lots of activities to enjoy, from baking and crafts, to gentle exercise sessions and animal therapy. The home also has a Magic Table, a wonderful piece of technology designed in the Netherlands for people living with dementia. It connects them through social, interactive light games, which encourage gentle movement and some healthy competition!

The local community are embraced into life in the home, from singers and entertainers to local school children, who enjoy activities or simply spending time with the residents. Recently weekly music and reminiscence sessions have started with a local musician, filling the home with the sound of song. The residents love sitting and chatting about their musical memories, singing and playing different instruments.

Riverlee also has a hairdressing salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser, as well as pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

  • It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
    Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1375 and for nursing care £1664, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Very caring home. My nan spent her last 5 months here at Riverlee and was treated with the utmost care especially at the end of her life. Food is fantastic and residents are encouraged to join in activities, shows, parties and off-site visits.

My partner has been at Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home for 2 years. I have been impressed with the care he receives. The manager and deputy are approachable and deal with any issues quickly and professionally. There is not a great many staff changes, staff seem to stay a long time which says a
lot I think. The nursing staff are very kind and caring as are the carers and there are always training sessions going on as the staff seem to be well trained. They are very helpful and will spend time talking to my partner even though he can be difficult at times.

The decision to pass the care of my husband to a home was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I cannot praise and thank Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home enough for their continuous support towards me and my family over the past year. The nurses are always professional, friendly and
polite, a real credit to their profession. I am always kept well informed by the staff and management who organise a range of activities for the residents.

The home is for the residents, they always out their needs first and are willing to listen when there is a problem. Mum has settled well.
It was hard at first to adapt but they were patient helping us as well as our mum.

My greatest achievement is seeing the residents having fun. This gives me comfort - I love seeing the residents laughing and smiling.
