Following my review which I completely stand by as the absolute truth I kept a diary I have photos of the cleaning wipes I brought from home and cleaned his room because it was so dirty and the response from the care home I felt obliged to post this. I hadn't made any reviews anywhere about the current
home my partner now resides in yet more lies from the staff member at Rosedean but it did make me realise that as I hadn't posted a review I should so I did praising the now excellent service and care he receives at the new care home, the review is available and the date I posted it is also available proving the post was made after the staff member from Rosedean claimed I had made and posted a review. So yet more lies/mistakes from Rosedene. Which makes me wonder instead of wasting time lying why they don't try and run a better home!

My partner is no longer a resident, we got him out before he passed. I've just read a review from someone and it was like I wrote it myself, honestly stopped me in my tracks. Everything you said happened to us. I'm so sorry this is still happening, just makes me feel sad. My partner had none of his
own clothes, other residents were wearing them, he left there with nothing. Don't get me wrong, certain members of staff I have nothing but love for but some also slept instead of doing 121 care.

Reply from Cher Lewis, Office Manager at Rosedene Nursing Home

It is sad to read that another relative is confirming comments made from a previous relative. It is sad, because from the care home's perspective, D R had spoken to us about some of their late partner's clothing being mislaid in other client bedrooms apologies were given and as far as we were aware, the matter was resolved. Any other such matters were not brought to the attention of the management team.

I have a friend who's a resident at the home that I visit. Always found the staff friendly, caring and approachable. The building is old but the standard is adequate for the residents. Most of the residents have mental health issues, I have to appraise the staff for the way they care daily in very challenging
situations. I know I couldn't manage it 24/7. Full marks for them. The previous review on cleanliness I find quite surprising, as I always notice it of a good standard. Thank you to the management and staff for all they do.

Reply from Cher Lewis, Office Manager at Rosedene Nursing Home

Dear Lee, thank you for your kind words. We take on board all reviews. All the staff work over and above in personalising individual care plans to ensure the service users at the care home are happy. This has its challenges like with any other mental health setting but is rewarding when we see the smiles on their faces.

I have a family member staying at Rosedale nursing home for approximately two years now. We were both sceptical, at first, due to its location and my family members mobility concerns. However, these concerns subsided once my family member got settled. The rooms are kept clean, tidy and safe.
The staff
are helpful and informative.
Though Rosedene is not one of the more modern built nursing homes, the facilities are of a good standard, and the nursing staff are professional and attentive.

Current Review Score: 5.1 (5.138)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 5.1 (5.138) out of 10 for Rosedene Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 2.1 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 2.063 for Rosedene Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (2 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (21 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 32 Ratings = 2.063

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.075 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosedene Nursing Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.075

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
