My mum moved in Nov 2016, she has settled in very well. She looks better in herself, she is clean and tidy and has a visit to the hairdresser every week. The staff and management are caring and friendly. We are very happy with the home.

My mother is well cared for in it's widest sense i.e. the homes cleanliness, food, medical checks/medicine dispensing and communication of these is good. Staffing levels are adequate and the relatively new management team have all but eradicated reliance on temporary carers/nursing, which was prevalent
earlier in the year and in 2015. One area that continues in my view to be substandard is the degree of "quality time" i.e. one to one time that is spent with individual residents. Activities staff are either part time and/or stretched in terms of record keeping, number of residents they have to attend to. Part of this is likely also to be due to the level of experience of some carers. Overall an improving quality of care is being provided at Tower Bridge.

We note you have highlighted concerns about the activities programme on offer at the home, and apologise if we have fallen short of the high standards we aspire to.
Currently there is one full time and two part time Activities Coordinators. Another full time Activity Coordinator is recruited to post but we are awaiting a start date pending final checks.
There are two Activity Coordinators who are allocated to focus on big events relating to the cultural and spiritual aspects of Residents lives. They also organise concerts, choirs, dance groups and Resident outings. The third Activity Coordinator solely conducts one to one activity with our bed bound Residents and group activities in the afternoon.
HC-One Limited works in partnership with attend, which is Friends of One Tower Bridge Road. Attend looks for volunteers who can offer Residents friendship and social and recreational activities.
There is also a planned monthly activity calendar which is displayed on the unit in order to inform relatives of activities which will be carried out during the month. Recently we have introduced the Tower Bridge Care Home newsletter to share our previous month’s valuable moments. The newsletter is available in the Residents rooms and reception.

I am very happy with the service and care the staff provide for my husband in the 3 years he has been in the care home, there have been many managers but the manager and assistant manager we have are the best we have ever had.
