Acton Care Centre is the largest capacity Gold Care Homes owns, facilitating Nursing Care for residents over the age of 65. The purpose-built home with modern amenities offers 71 beds for general care and 54 beds for Dementia care. Acton offers first-class, unique, personalised care with testament to their well trained staff supporting those with very complex needs including Palliative Care, Nursing, Dementia and those with disabilities.

I am always made very welcome by the staff on reception. I am always treated with respect by every member of the staff. The staff have gone out of their way to make my sister happy and have her needs met. The atmosphere is cheerful and bright and the rooms adequate. A cup of tea and cake has always
been given. The kitchen/dining area welcomes visitors. My canine friend has always been welcome.

My father was in Acton Care Centre for a very short time, but during that period, all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - both to my father and my mother when she visited him. The atmosphere in the Centre is warm and the staff genuinely care for their clients.

My husband is confined to his bed and cannot take part in any activities. The staff have tried to get him to go in a wheelchair but he refused. He seems to be content watching TV and looking out of the window. Would be good to have the curtains drawn. He cannot indulge in a conversation and at times
looks very sad.

We always encourage people to participate but must of course respect their wishes where they choose not to. I live in Somerset and cannot visit my mother more than once a week because of work. It is very comforting to know Mum is being genuinely cared for and is happy and safe at Acton Care Centre. All of the staff from reception on arrival, the office for admin purposes, the nurses and caregivers are friendly
and helpful. This is not just my opinion but also from friends of Mum who visit her during the week.

Every day is a good day, from early in the morning till late at night, there is always someone there to help you if so needed.
The staff are excellent, on your day-to-day basics.

Excellent home with great staff and very friendly. Though a bad point the room my brother is in is far too hot, and the underfloor heating is very hard to turn down, even with the thermostat. Also, my brother is left on his bed all day, and there is no urgency to get him mobile. He can walk though needs
physio for 1 year we have been asking. He will rot away if he does not get mobile again.

Always a good experience when visiting a resident.
Smiling and engaged receptionist, welcoming care staff.
The food provided to the resident was wholesome and also saw that the resident is fed as she is unable to eat by themselves.

The staff are lovely, polite very helpful always available to discuss any questions or issues. The care staff are knowledgeable regarding the care of my father the 3 monthly team meetings are informative and helpful in keeping me informed of what’s going on.

Mum has been in Acton Care Centre coming up to a year in April this year. The staff are brilliant and really easy to communicate with about Mum's needs.
Mum has a great relationship with most of the staff also, I like how they take the time to build individual relationships with all residents. I was
really nervous about Mum going into a care home but Acton Care Centre have made the experience a little less daunting for me & Mum.

Both of my parents are residents of Acton Care Centre and I have been very happy about the care that they has been provided. The rooms are always clean and tidy and I have seen that my parents have received a good level of care consistently since they arrived 5 months ago.
The staff are always friendly
and available to answer any questions that I or any family members have about how my parents are doing, or if I have any concerns. I am always greeted by a friendly smile and hello from the receptionist who goes above and beyond to help. My parents are happy with the care that they receive and I am pleased that the staff do focus on a personalised service.
The only area that I would say that requires some improvement is the laundry service. Overall it is good (always clean and nicely ironed), but a few items belonging to my parents have gotten lost, which is unfortunate. But, I do appreciate that in a care home of that size, these things will happen.

I visit my sister most days and I find everyone so caring, when you enter reception you are greeted with a smile, the nurses are always smiling, the home is so very clean unlike some homes you have smells but this home never has bad smells. Excellent. The only issue is sometimes I feel they are short
of staff, I understand that this would be due to illness and holidays. The other issue is my sister has gotten used to certain nurses but they are being moved around to other units which does make it harder for my sister.

I have been at Acton Care Centre over 8 years, I feel lucky to be able to call this place home, there are fantastic people working here, the carers and activities especially one person in particular who does a lot for me, and the nursing staff, also domestic cleaning staff, have been amazing, the management
