Albany Nursing Home is a calm and welcoming home that helps residents to live as fulfilling a life as possible and also delivers palliative care.

Visitors are actively encouraged at the home, which has an open door policy. Residents can also bring with them key pieces of furniture and belongings to help them settle and feel comfortable in their own private bedroom.

There is a patio area in the garden where residents can enjoy spending time in good weather and there are raised flowerbeds for active participation in gardening activities. The garden is also wheelchair friendly.

Staff show a great attitude and commitment to the care of the residents. All the staff are attentive to the needs of the residents and are very helpful. Have been impressed by the friendly and attentive care given to the residents and have always found the staff welcoming, on my visits to the nursing
home to see my mother.

My sister was lovingly looked after in her last days at the nursing home by dedicated and respectful staff.
She spent over 5 years there and we felt she was very well cared for and involved in activities.
Staff were always happy to talk if there were any issues and quickly resolved them.

This experience was initially challenging and daunting in many aspects. However, my fears and anxieties were soon laid to rest as the overall presence and attitude of staff was very complimentary. I was treated with respect and professional behaviour was displayed at all times. The care given to my
wife was very good and emphasis mainly centred around her being made as comfortable as possible. Please continue the good work.

My mum lived here for the last few months of her life, we wished she had moved in earlier. Mum had fantastic care. The staff and nurses are amazing. Mum loved living there. My mum was a resident at Albany Nursing Home for 10 years. The carers and nursing staff looked after my mum with respect and politeness and kindness. Mum always looked clean and happy. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The manager was nice and there were various activities available.

My beloved sister was recently a resident of Albany. Myself, brother and niece's have nothing but praise for the staff and management who run this wonderful home. My sister received the greatest of care whilst she was there, and the staff went above and beyond to make us, her family, feel supported,
and this means every single member of staff, not just one or two. Their care of our sister was truly faultless. The home was clean, the food excellent, and nothing was too much trouble, either for our sister or for us, her family, and, as a family, we are just so thankful that she spent her last remaining days there, being cared for and supported. On behalf of her family, we would like to thank all staff and management from the bottom of our hearts for making the unbearable more bearable. Thank you.

Outstanding care home the respect and dignity they show the residents is by far the best. They cared and gave them time even if bed-bound. They fulfilled their days with dance, laughter and games. The individual 1-1 care was perfect they showed them time, it wasn't rushed.

When I first visited Albany Nursing Home the reception staff and manager were friendly and knowledgeable. They were happy to show me around and discuss options, despite there being no room available at that time. I was able to put my relative’s name on a waiting list. When a room became available the
Home contacted me immediately and all went smoothly after that.
The carers and nurses were kind, capable and understanding of my relative’s needs. I could discuss his preferences and behaviour with them. They were able to inform me how he was each day. We learned from each other so that my relative received the best care possible. He was clean, comfortable and content under their care.

This is a wonderful nursing home. The friendly hardworking staff are so caring to the residents and visitors. Every time I go there they are always helpful and willing to assist in anything to make life comfortable for my sister and myself when I come to visit.
The building and rooms are very clean
and cosy, the food is very good and all the staff there are amazing.

My father was in Albany Nursing Home with Parkinson's disease for six years. In all this time he was extremely well looked after; always washed and shaved, always with clean clothes. The home is extremely clean and tidy. The manager and staff are superb, good food as well. There are frequent activities
too. The nurse being on duty twenty four seven is brilliant too and the doctor is also available at short notice. Hairdresser and chiropodist etc. visit regularly. All in all, this is a superb home which I would recommend. Lovely rooms and ensuite bathrooms.

Mum was moved to Albany from Hospital under Bed Blocking rules because of this circumstance I was more than ready to look for faults. Instead, I found the professional caring staff from cleaners to nurses and admin. Mum was only there for 5 months but she was content and especially at end of life, well
cared for and respected. The staff of all ages communicated and promoted calm.

My husband was in Albany Nursing Home. He was there for sixteen years. He passed away in May. The home was very caring and understanding. The staff were excellent, always there to help you. They would phone me if there was a problem. Management always ready to talk too. Cleaners would also go and talk
to him. I can't thank them enough.

My mum was transferred to Albany Nursing Home in March 2021 following an inpatient stay in hospital. The home is warm, clean and welcoming and is excellently managed by the manager. As a family, we were invited to be involved in all elements of my mum's care and were kept informed of all decisions
made. The care and level of professionalism shown by all of the staff at Albany is second to none and I never felt rushed whenever I called for an update on my mum. The staff were well informed and happy to share news of her day and how she was eating, sleeping etc. When my mum passed, the staff were amazing. They allowed us time as a family to spend with mum and made us hot drinks and comforted us. They were sensitive to all of our needs and made a very painful time manageable. I would not hesitate to recommend Albany Nursing Home to you for the care of an elderly loved one, particularly one suffering from the awful symptoms of dementia.

Carers were always friendly and helpful. Overall very happy. Some of the resident's clothes were missing and she had clothes in her room that weren't hers. Admin, re invoices, not great. Could never get in touch with the accountant.
