I have been visiting a resident since October 2021 who sadly died on 25th December. At every visit, I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the warm care they gave all the residents.

We are happy with everything - staff are lovely and Mum is very settled. She is clean and well cared for. The staff know Mum very well and really look after her - nothing is too much trouble. Due to Covid, it was difficult to comment on her room. We are not able to comment on value for money.

I am happy with the arrangements made, everyone. It very easy, step by step. All the staff are willing to listen and address our concerns were possible. All the nurses as well as the tissue viability nurser have explained and kept me up to date with my aunt's progress. Maybe, just a not to bear in mind;
the place can do with a refurbishment, otherwise 5-stars from the whole family.

A clean, comfortable home. The staff are excellent, loving, kind, responsive and helpful. I feel there could be more proactive communication, but I am always given details when I ask. Not many activities for residents, but my mum is not in any way able to take advantage of this. Overall a very good,
peaceful, calm last home for my mum; thank you.

I came to this home last year 2019. So far, I am happy with the way the manager takes charge of the home, very understanding and helpful. All the staff, nurses look after all the residents making sure we are all safe and there when I need them. I thank the manager and staff for taking care of me. I

With regret, I have found myself having to leave another (yes another) negative review about this home. My father is a resident at this care home. My mother visits daily and has time and time again complained about residents being left alone in the lounge while ALL of the carers are having a jolly up
in the conversatory. They cannot (unless they have X-ray vision and can see through walls) see the residents. Head office are in denial and are oblivious to this. I would not recommend this home, who leaves vulnerable people to fend for themselves in the lounge. People have choked, nearly fallen from chairs., poured drinks over themselves (thankfully not hot tea yet). The home need to wake up and take some responsibility for their inaction to address these concerns of numerous residents. At a recent resident meeting promises where made, nothing has changed. It is an accident waiting to happen.

I stayed at Carrick HouseNursing Home for a week following open heart surgery. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and willingness of staff to assist and help me. The nurses on duty were very professional and carried out their duties with kind words and encouragement. The care assistants
were polite and accommodating.The food was plentiful and well cooked. I would recommend Carrick House to anyone looking for post operative care.

My sister was placed in Carrick House Nursing House because she was bedridden and has bad bed sores. The staff were very professional and kind and she had round the clock care.
She was in the care home for 15 months until she died.
Whilst in Carrick House her overall health deteriorated but the staff
were kind and made sure that she was always comfortable and well looked after. We were always welcomed with a smile when we visited and we felt confident that she was getting the best care.
The manager was always ready to answer any questions that we had.

Dad was in the home for ten months.
During that time he was treated with dignity and respect.
He could be difficult at times but the staff were always friendly and helpful and kept the family fully informed of any developments relating to his health.
The staff went out of their way to make a happy
and cheerful atmosphere with Christmas and birthday parties and a general feeling of good will.
I am very grateful to all the staff for making the final period of Dad's life so pleasant.

Ramona has been part of the management team at MD Homes since 2017 and started managing Carrick House Nursing Home in 2020.


She is dedicated and disciplined and has a passion for delivering patient-centred care with humanity and respect. Ramona has a wealth of knowledge and experience which includes being a CQC Registered Manager and NMC Registered Lead Nurse.


Her combined skills and enthusiasm provide confident and capable management which in turn makes a difference in the day-to-day lives of our wonderful residents.
