Galsworthy House Nursing Home in Kingston Upon Thames provides the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and permanent care for individuals or couples.

The stunning period property was formerly home to Sir John Galsworthy, the novelist and playwright who is most notably remembered for The Forsyte Saga, who the home is named for. The beautifully appointed bedrooms and elegant day rooms contribute to the distinctive atmosphere in the home. The home has a prime position on Kingston Hill, where it enjoys wonderful views over Richmond Park, the largest Royal Park in London and home to various wild birds and animals including deer which can very often be seen walking around and being admired by the residents.

There are a variety of activities on a daily basis designed to keep residents mentally, physically and socially active so they can get involved in as much or as little as they like. The team love learning as much as they can about the residents so that their time is tailored to their individual needs and interests.

If I was allowed only one thing to day about Galsworthy House, it would be the brilliant staff that have looked after our mother since she became a resident in October 2011.

My Uncle stayed at Galsworthy House for nearly 2 years. They provided excellent quality of care, especially challenging with a man who was very independent until his early 90's. He clearly felt safe, enjoyed the food, care & attention very much. For his entire stay, he was resident on the mezzanine
floor which is managed by a member of staff who was utterly superb. His patience & kindness to my Uncle was unfailing & it was clear my Uncle grew very fond of him which was lovely to see. It was lovely to think we did not have to worry about him & if there were any concerns over his health they always reached out immediately. The Deputy Manager has also been fantastic, providing support & guidance over the last 2 years. My Uncle sadly passed away last month, he passed away peacefully & with dignity at the age of 93, you can't really ask for more than that.

My wife has been in Galsworthy House for about two and a half months, I visit most days so I seen life there at first hand. From the manager down to incomparable activities lady who organises the events, games, entertainments etc. Every one of the staff gives the most excellent care to the residents,
interacting with them and showing kindness which is really quite touching. The lovely setting of Galsworthy House with it's Victorian splendour helps to make this a very special home. My wife is happy, and know that she is being well looked after I can sleep well at night.

I would like to write about the incredible care that the staff at Galsworthy House give to my mother. She has lived here since June and from the start she has felt at home, which is primarily due to the care and attention she is given. My father visits every day, and is warmly welcomed. It is the small
details that show the great care, the white cotton tablecloths and silver cutlery, the fresh flowers and smiles from all the staff. I have no doubt that my mother is being in the best place for her, and I have recommended Galsworthy House to my friends who are considering care homes in the area.

Generally very good. Any issues raised by family members are attended to quickly and sympathetically. To be fair the only such issues have been both very minor and infrequent.

My mother's care home where she had been happy and content is being closed down by the council so a new care home had to be found for her. At the age of 95 she was welcomed to Galsworthy House where everything possible is being done to make her feel at home. The staff are all very caring and dedicated
I am happy to know my mum will spend her last days in such a lovely, caring 'new' home.
