We appreciate honest feedback from our families, because we always wish to do the best we can for our residents. As you can appreciate, we do have to take account of our residents wishes and this includes their participation in activities. Thank you for recognising the excellent quality of care provided by our team to your husband. However, we're sorry if you feel there are some aspects that fall below your expectations. Please note that we welcome all feedback - as home manager, I offer an open-door policy to visitors during the working day and there is an out-of-hours on-call manager to handle urgent concerns. Our staffing ratios exceed industry standards for care staff and activities, and during unavoidable periods of staff sickness we use experienced, qualified nursing and care staff from agencies to maintain these ratios and high standard of care. Our home has an ongoing refurbishment plan to ensure that we offer a pleasant living experience for all our residents. Unfortunately, everything has increased in price - from energy and food to medical equipment. In addition, the National Living Wage has also gone up, and we pride ourselves on paying our talented and dedicated staff fairly. However, a full explanation can be found in the letter that we sent out to our residents/fee payers giving them notice of the increase.

We are so pleased to hear that you seem happy with the home and your mother's care overall, especially our menus and activities. Our activities team works hard to ensure that our programme of activities is varied and enjoyable, and we do ask our residents to let us know whether there is anything that they particularly wish to do. Although our facilities team does put in a lot of time and effort to maintain our large garden, we have taken on board your comments and are currently sourcing some new plants that will give our garden some more colour. We will also look into ways of further improving communication between our staff teams.
