Hanbury Court has recently transferred to Kripa Care, and is no longer part of Angel Care/MNS Care.

Hanbury Court Care Home provides residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care for up to 34 older people.

Situated in Dagenham, Essex, a minibus takes residents on trips to local amenities such as the cinema, the pub and a local tea dance. The home sits between the Chase nature reserve and Beam parklands, where residents can enjoy fresh air and wildlife.

The home is stylishly decorated and features two lounges, two dining rooms, a large conservatory and a garden with seating areas and a barbecue. Most of the bedrooms are en-suite and include telephone and television points. These are usually single but there are double rooms available to accommodate couples.

The activities coordinator keeps residents stimulated and entertained with activities ranging from spa treatments to quizzes and outings. Residents can choose which activities they want to take part in each week and their preferences are taken into account when planning the timetable.

My sister and I can't thank the staff at this home enough for their never-ending quality care and support. Sadly we lost our dear Mum but her stay in the home for the last 8 mos has always been perfect. A happy, clean environment with staff constantly helping. Well done to all of you. You all deserve
a medal for the work you do day in and day out with the residents. So glad we were lucky enough to get a place at this home.

Can’t praise all the staff who are looking after my dad while he is there to rest his leg fracture enough. The food is excellent and they always ask him what he wants. Today when I visited him we were in the garden and it started to rain and one staff member kindly went to get him a blanket and a waterproof
blanket without having to ask her. All the staff are very friendly and make conversation with us. I have worked in test homes before and this is the cleanest I’ve ever seen. I would highly recommend Hanbury Court Care Home to anyone who is looking for this service.

Everyone I have met there has been so kind and caring, to my partner, who is a resident there at the moment, and to myself and my family who visit. Nothing is too much trouble and he is well looked after. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

I have been in Hanbury Court Care Home since April 2022 I was placed here on a discharge to assess programme and have been here since.
I am well looked after and the staff are very kind and caring. It would be nice to have more activities for us all. I would also like a television that picks up all
channels, the ariel is not very good - especially on BBC one and two.

Experience has been generally good. Home is clean, food for residents is adequate and nutritious. Prompt response to resident's medical requirement. General care for my husband is satisfactory. Attitude of staff to residents and relatives is good. Information to relatives about residents' health and
general welfare is excellent. I
Will generally recommend Hanbury Court Nursing home, as a good home.

Staff friendly and professional.
Management always willing to listen, give their time and very helpful and professional. This is the second home my mum has resided in and I'm so happy she is in Hanbury court as her residential home. I would recommend this care home.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.607)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.607) out of 10 for Hanbury Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Hanbury Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 32 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.607 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hanbury Court Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.357

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
