My mother has only been at Homefield for a few weeks but already I can see an improvement in her. In fact, a huge difference from before she came here. She is happy and content- better than she was in her own home. Even though she has dementia, she always has a smile and has never complained or wanted
to 'go home'. The staff are amazing. They help whenever I need them and are extremely dedicated to their roles. Homefield is bright and cheerful and welcoming and I know my mother will live out her days happily here. Her being happy allows me now to be happy as I have been caring for my mum for almost 6 years and it was a mental struggle for me too. Now I can visit her and I'm safe in the knowledge that this care home will look after her needs without any worry to me. Thank you everyone at Homefield.

Since my wife who has vascular dementia and severe Alzheimer’s, I have been very pleased with the level of care she has received since her admission in June 2023. She is treated with considerable care and respect and although her condition is non-verbal her reactions are very positive. The staffing
level is very good, and often on a 1 to 1 basis - nothing is too much trouble. The cleanliness of the home is excellent and they employ adequate staff to keep it so. They have regular activities, especially with exercises, which are constantly monitored. It has a "home-to-home" feeling and the staff are very friendly, considerate and understanding of my wife's condition. The food is excellent and any dietary requirements are met with care and attention. They often have visiting entertainers come in for special occasions like Christmas, Valentine's Day etc and provide facilities for relatives and friends to come in and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries etc. A dedicated visiting doctor and other professionals provide any specialist care required. Security is good with electronic door access. I highly recommend this establishment.

The whole family found Homefield Nursing Home to be extremely friendly, and very caring of Mums needs. It was a difficult time us as Mum became very poorly and they showed us such compassion and kindness, as she passed away they were there to help us and comfort us. It is a home that I would recommend
to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.

My husband moved to Homefield in November 2020. The manager and the staff are amazing and work very hard. Their care for and patience with my husband and all the residents shows real dedication and consideration of the individual needs of everyone who lives there.
They create memory boards for his
room, take time to stimulate him and remind him of the family.
My family and I are so grateful for the interaction, care, respect and dignity that is given to him every day. I can't thank them enough.

Homefield Nursing Home are more than a nursing home, they not only care for the residents but ensure that the family are kept informed and that the family’s wishes are an important part of the care given. Mum was given care and nursing that were second to none and treated as an extended family member
by the staff. Although only at Homefield for four months before she died I cannot begin to put into words how the care is given made her time there special.

Homefield cared for my mother for four and a half years until her recent death. The care that Mum received from the carers and nurses was fantastic. She was extremely well looked after and not one bedsore during that time even though she was immobile. The management have been fantastic to us and very
supportive. My father visited my mum every day (when allowed) and they treated him as part of the family. Even through Covid they did their best to keep us informed and allowed visits whenever they were permitted by the government to do so. The entertainments, concerts, parties, dogs were excellently arranged and enjoyed by all. I would like to thank them for all they have done for us and for the way they looked after Mum and also Dad.

Homefield is a wonderful environment and the staff are truly superb, the care they provide is fantastic and their compassion is second to none. I am so glad my mum is a resident, the carers do all they can to make sure she is happy and healthy and enjoying life in her twilight years. During the Covid
epidemic, they have displayed enormous commitment and dedication to keeping those they care for safe and well. Everyone is treated with the utmost dignity and respect. I cannot fault Homefield and would very highly recommend them.

The team are amazing and provide a good standard of care for my father who has been at Homefield for just over one year.
The staff are compassionate and caring and Dad has built up some good relationships with some members of staff who are brilliant with him and they go above and beyond to make sure
he is ok.
Thank you for your dedication Homefield.

I was concerned about meeting my sister after lockdown for some 13-weeks or so. I am bound to say upon visiting her after such a long period of time, she looked healthy, happy, and the best I have seen her look since her husband died in 2004. Apart from the obvious memory issues, I felt that she could
not possibly be in a better place in consideration to her health issues - thank you Homefield.

I cannot praise the manager and staff at Homefield enough. They have worked very hard during this difficult period, and all deserve a medal.
I have been kept in touch with telephone calls updating me on my mother on a regular basis. The care they show to all the residents is highly commendable, and
I can't thank them enough. When you see this standard of service, you feel happy knowing your mother is in safe hands.

I visited my mum today for the first time since the home locked down due to COVID-19. They contacted my sister and me as soon as they were able to let family visit. We were made very welcome and provided with all the necessary PPE and met with mum in a gazebo in the garden for an hour.
We have had
regular FaceTime calls over the past weeks and due to the quick response and lockdown of the home, there have been no cases amongst the residents.
I would like to thank one particular person and the rest of the team for the fabulous job they do in keeping Mum well and safe.

I cannot fault the professionalism and commitment of the staff (two members of staff in particular - they know who they are), prior to, but more especially during, this period of lockdown. They have allowed my family and me to trust and believe that my dad is safe and cared for, giving us reassurance
whenever we need it. Knowing that my dad is being looked after so well is something that I shall be forever grateful for. Thank you.

Mission Homefield Nursing Home in Bickley, I cannot fault them!! My mum has been in there for nearly a year and I have been continuously surprised on how well they are looking after my mother! The manager has been working above and beyond for the resident during this lockdown, it has been incredibly
hard on everyone!! Using her initiative and locking down the care home 10 days before anyone else, resulted in having ZERO cases of COVID-19 at Homefield. The staff are friendly and diligent. There are activities every day keeping the resident alert and happy.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.043)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.043) out of 10 for Homefield Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.729 for Homefield Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.729

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.314 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Homefield Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
