The staff during the lockdown period have kept the family well informed about the health and welfare of my dad. They have used video calling and have sent videos to show how he’s doing. He has a wonderful sense of humour and the staff have joined in with his jokes, however bad. I feel the staff know
him well and only want the best for him.

My mother has been a resident of this care home for just over 2-years. In that time, she had received magnificent care which I cannot fault. The staff treat the residents with the utmost care and respect. During these trying times, the manager and her team have gone above and beyond to make sure families
are kept abreast of all developments. The home has been kept corona virus-free due to all their stalwart efforts. This, in itself, shows how much care they care.

During the lockdown, it’s been extremely hard for the family and of course my mum who is being cared for at Homefields. We speak with Mum on a regular basis and have a constant dialogue with the staff on Mums general health, well-being and needs.
It is so reassuring to know that all the staff are
working so hard, with no break from where the family are unable to come in and it so refreshing that they still provide a good standard of care. Thank you so much to the whole team for caring for Mum when all of you have your own concerns too.

My mother entered Homefield shortly before the lockdown so as a home it was an unknown quantity to us and we had not really had the opportunity to get to know the staff either. So we, as a family, were naturally a little apprehensive when lockdown came and it seemed we would have very little interaction
with Mum. However, thanks to the kindness of the staff we have all maintained excellent contact with Mum during this difficult time. Staff have initiated WhatsApp calls and video calls and keep us all updated on what Mum is up to. I have friends with parents in homes affected by Corona and it has been hell for them so again we were so grateful to Homefield for taking the move to close down to visitors a good 2 weeks before Government guidelines. I truly believe this has been vital in keeping the virus out of the home entirely and therefore bringing great peace of mind to all of us. I cannot recomend Homefield and their lovely, professional, caring staff, highly enough.

My mother has been at Homefield since February 2020 and settled in remarkably quickly. We have not been able to visit her since mid-March because of lockdown restrictions but I was impressed, firstly, by how quickly staff took protective measures and, secondly, by the efforts they have made to help
us stay in touch. My father has had weekly video calls with Mum and they have been sharing photos of family and friends I've sent via WhatsApp. They've also made video calls to other family members and sent messages to keep us updated on how she's doing. At a time when we feel very distant, they have helped reassure us and to maintain contact. It's lovely to see Mum smiling and being so well cared for and we are grateful to Homefield staff and management for their warmth and professionalism.

During the lockdown, the staff at Homefield have done a great job of keeping my nan's spirits up. Nan sees one of us 5-days a week so we knew she would find lockdown hard but the staff have kept her happy, busy and helped her understand why she can’t see her family. The video calls have been a great
comfort to us in this hard time, as being able to speak to her and see how she is getting on has made things a little easier. Thank you to everyone at Homefield, you have done a good job!

My mum is happy and well cared for, brilliant staff and managed. Would recommend to any family. The home allows you to visit your family member at any time, you turn up, and find your parent well cared for in a clean and well-staffed home. Who you can actually talk to, and they know my mum. All my family
are happy that our mum is safe, healthy and clean.

The staff have been fantastic in their care for my brother during the coronavirus lockdown. It is very difficult for my brother who has vascular dementia to understand why we are not visiting, and two members of staff have been working with him to understand and have been helping to fill his days. They
have been sending videos and photographs to me, and we have been able to have a video call to help reassure him.

During these hard times of not being able to visit our relatives due to lockdown, I have been compelled to write a review of Homefield.
The care and love for the residents are evident. I am always kept well informed as to my mothers mental and physical wellbeing.
The manager is always available
to talk to.
The activity staff work hard to adapt to all residents abilities. The care staff work hard to ensure residents are comfortable and well cared for. The food is of good quality. I cannot praise them enough. Well done Homefield!

My husband has recently passed away. He was a resident in Homefield for over 2years and I must say that he received wonderful care. The staff were lovely, kind and understanding of my husband's needs. There was a good atmosphere at the home and nothing seemed too much trouble. The manager there had
an 'open door' policy, which was very reassuring. When a loved one goes into care it is very daunting, but I have nothing but praise for this care home.

I am very pleased with the care and accommodation both my parents receive at Homefield. My father has been a resident for nearly two years now and my mother has been for just over six months. They are both well cared for in nice surroundings and the staff make a lot of effort to ensure their health
and social needs are met. Some of the social events and outings they organise at the home are very good.

From day one, I have been placed with the care my mother has received at Homefield, also the other members of the family have committed on her care they are satisfied with it. The fact that they are not left on in the day room on their own, there is a member of the care staff in attendance. Activities
- Homefield is one of the few homes who have some sort of activities going on each week eg singers, exercise to music, petting dogs, and so on. The two people who help to make this happen work hard.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.043)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.043) out of 10 for Homefield Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.729 for Homefield Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.729

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.314 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Homefield Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
