The home has been fantastic from our first point of contact. The manager had great empathy and understanding, immiediately making my Mother happy with the decision. On arrival, the senior nurse was very quickly ontop of my Father's requirements, despite his late arrival after a hospital discharge. Subsequently,
another member of staff has been fantastic and provided a high degree of confidence within the medical nursing care. All carers genuinely live up to their name - Happy, professional and warm-natured. The home is immaculate and the quality of care is exactly as we wished.

My immediate reaction was how friendly and how caring the staff were when I first came to visit my mum and it has never changed. Excellent.

All the staff were welcoming and friendly. This was my first visit and it was encouraging. There seems to be a lot of activities and I would hope that everybody who is able to, participates. The only concern was the occasional and intense smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor, immediately next to
his room.

Overall the standard is good to very good, with a manager who works hard to maintain a high standard, as do the majority of the care staff who work very hard to complete the daily tasks. The dementia floor struggles to feed 19 residents with 4 care staff and 1 nurse and rely on help from other floors
and managers. One to one for two residents is now helping the situation. The auxiliary staff are also helpful.

All the staff at Hugh Myddleton are helpful friendly and welcoming. Nurses and care assistants were professional, experienced and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The building is purpose built and access with a wheelchair is not a problem, the rooms are well equipped and well maintained.

My name is Jade Shea, I will oversee the running of the 48-bed care home and will be responsible for a team of 70 staff. Prior to starting in this position as a General Manager at Hugh Myddelton, I had 17 years of experience in a care setting. I have been a Care Home Manager for 12 years specialising in nursing care, living with dementia and elderly frail residents. I have a nursing background and have completed my Leadership and management in health and social care. Caring is innate to me and my work ethos is to deliver a high-quality care service and to always be mindful of my workforce to be working as a team in order to progress.

Joining the Team at Hugh Myddelton as a General Manager, I felt welcome by everyone.

Hugh Myddelton has a warmth and good atmosphere. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the team and the residents. I’m looking forward to managing this home continuing to provide high-quality care and being part of the community.
