My father moved into James Terry Court days before Christmas, which was a challenging time for everyone, but the staff made him very welcome. The staff were supportive in ensuring my father received the right level of care and working with the local health team.
My father appreciated the activities,
especially the music, which brought him much pleasure. Staff were great at engaging with my father and appreciating his interests and passions.
Sadly, my father's health deteriorated and the whole team were amazing in their support for him and the wider family. As other reviews say, the team were exemplary under difficult circumstances and their support and commitment is genuinely appreciated.

From the day my dad arrived at the home, he was really well looked after by the caring and professional staff. We always felt reassured that he was getting the best possible care for his Alzheimer's. There were always lots of activities to keep him busy and other residents always around for company.
Thank you for also giving Dad dignity at the end of his life and letting us have a last visit to spend time with him when he passed away peacefully. Many thanks to all the staff.

The care that my father-in-law received in the short time that he was a resident at James Terry Court was absolutely amazing. All the staff that looked after him were so caring and professional, especially taking into account his complex medical needs and the number of hospital appointments he had to
attend. Nothing was too much trouble and they kept in touch with us every step of the way, especially during his final days. We are truly grateful to you all, thank you.

Since my mother arrived at James Hunter House, we have been so impressed with the care and support she has received and also to us, as her family. Everyone, shift leaders, carers, cleaners, laundry staff, receptionists, maintenance and management is always so kind, helpful, friendly, caring and professional.
Nothing is too much trouble, and we are always kept up to day with my mum's care. It has been a hard time for us, but we are now so relieved that my mum is in such wonderful, capable hands. Thank you so much, everyone.

Everyone at James Terry Court is welcoming, friendly and professional. From the moment we made an initial enquiry regarding eligibility and availability of rooms for my dad, we were treated with kindness and respect. Something that helped my mum come to terms with the difficult situation of my dad's
deteriorating health. The support and guidance given to Mum, Dad and me during the admittance procedure and then the settling-in processes were amazing. The building was always clean and tidy, and the staff genuinely care for the welfare and needs of the residents. The care my dad received both in the dementia and nursing floors was wonderful; the staff treated him as if he was a member of their family, and we came to know many of them well and think of them with great fondness. Unfortunately, my dad passed away a few months ago; the day he died, the staff were exemplary, and we are truly grateful for the wonderful care he received and the compassion shown to him and us, his family.

The caring staff are very good. The only disappointment was the lack of organised in-house activities and entertainment during lockdown. Hopefully, this will improve now life seems to be returning to normal.

I spent 3 weeks in the home to assist with my convalescence and recuperation following major surgery. On arrival, I was both weak mentally and physically. Upon departure, I was ready once again to return home and act normal again. My experiences in the home were such that without them I could not have
faced going back to normal. The home was an incredible help towards my full recovery.

My mother has Dementia and has been with James Terry Court for nearly 3 years. The care has been beyond my expectations. Nothing is too much for the staff - they feel like family. My mother has got to the point in her illness where she rarely recognises me but the staff look after her so well and make
me feel like a member of the James Terry Family. I can not thank them enough. All over COVID lockdown, they kept me updated with how mum was doing. They have supported me as well as mum. I particularly want to praise all the staff on Hunter who are so kind and deal with dementia patients with kindness and compassion. They have looked after my mum as if she was a member of their own family. I would not hesitate to recommend James Terry Court to anyone looking for a safe haven for their family member or friend.

When Dad’s care finally became too much for us we were extremely grateful to find James Terry Court. We found the process of having Dad admitted worrying and cannot compliment the manager and the staff at James Terry Court enough for guiding us through the process and how kind the manager was on the
hospital pre-assessment visit.
There’s obviously a strong and caring management team in place. We receive regular email updates and the staff are always happy to help update us when we telephone. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and totally dedicated to the resident's well-being. There’s a nurse on each floor with a visiting GP and district Nurse who have established a strong bond with our Dad.
At home, Dad missed out on the social interaction and the variety of activities which James Terry Court are now providing. He's now happily settled in, loves the garden and is making friends.
Knowing that he is so well cared for and liked is a massive relief to us all at this difficult time.

My mother has been a widow for 36 years and cared for herself very well, but did not socialise with her neighbours that much. So moving into a Residential Care Home was a bit unsettling for her, but she is now settled in with the very helpful staff and is treated by the other residents as part of one
big family.

We had both in-laws residing for the last two years. The overall care has been very good and father-in-law, in particular, was very happy and continuously said how well looked after he was and how fantastic the staff are. Mother-in-law has memory problems and found it difficult to adjust, however, she
has also been very well looked after and we know she is safe and cared for. Father-in-law passed away in April but the end of life pathway was compassionate and comforting. The staff are now going out of their way to support mother-in-law to ensure her sadness and loneliness is monitored and that she is not left alone for long periods. All this has happened during the Covid-19 lockdown procedures which has obviously placed extra strain and caused stress for everyone. The leadership and management have been absolutely excellent and we cannot praise them enough for what they are doing under extreme circumstances.

My family have total confidence in the staff at James Terry Court, who are very approachable and supportive. As this is the first year of my mother’s stay in the home we have been in contact with the team over a number of small issues all of which have been positively resolved in a timely manor. The
level of care that my mother receives is first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anybody who needed to be looked after in a caring environment.

My mother was apprehensive about moving into a care home so she had a few weeks "respite care" at James Terry Court. It was unlike her expectations and enjoyed it so much she asked to stay (fortunately there was a vacancy). She has settled in and enjoys the activities and company when she wants it.
She is so much more confident. The staff are always thoughtful and well trained, she feels safe and secure. The facilities are very clean and modern. She has a large room with ensuite facilities. Everything possible is done to ensure this feels like "home". She is far more active and responsive than she was when receiving care in her own home.
