Independent since the death of her husband for 32 years, it came as shock at 98 to be told to move from her home! Transiting to sheltered facilities was extremely stressful, due to management pressure, over a two year period, at her former accommodation and a complete lack of Council support. It's
a tribute to staff at James Terry that Mother is now generally happily integrated and is now in her 102nd year.


We, my sister and I, would comment that problems still seem to exist with the processing of laundry, all items were marked although these seem not to be resilient, it is not unusual to find Mother not wearing her own clothes. This is a very minor niggle.


Perhaps of greater relevance, when entering the facility we provided a fairly comprehensive resume' of facts, these have over the years been updated however we are not sure that attention has been adequately paid to them.


This is not meant to be a list of niggles but whenever we visit more often than not her hearing aid is not functioning, I carry as routine a spare battery. Without a hearing aid Mother cannot communicate and although appearing to converse will almost certainly not be on the same subject as the questioner.


This is not to be taken as negative comments but it is important for good communication between both us as responsible Children and legal guardians of our Mothers wellbeing and you the facilitators.


We as an overall perspective hold the facility and staff in extremely high regard, we have no problem communicating with any of the Staff they are almost without exception open, friendly and show us and our Mother the utmost courtesy. We are always greeted with a smile and some where we are most likely to hear a staff member gently talking and laughing with a resident.

My mother who is 96 has been at James Terry Court since May 2013. Whenever I or other relatives visit we are always made to feel welcome and can see how well cared for Mum is. I am always very happy with the cleanliness, both in mum's room and all other aspects of the Home. I would not hesitate
to recommend James Terry.

Warm, kind and caring. Clean and fresh environment. Staff greet residents and visitors in a warm and friendly way. Visitors are welcomed at any time. Staff attend efficiently and promptly to any issues raised. Activities are all a bit similar and could be more stimulating.

The care my late father received in the last few weeks of his life was amazing. The staff were exceptional. My Grandmother is very happy and considers herself lucky to be living in such a nice care home. The staff are fantastic and take care of all her needs. On the rare occasion there's been a problem
I have been notified immediately. Hygiene and cleanliness is brilliant and the food is of a high standard. Staff go the extra mile and I know most on first name basis. Very polite and friendly.


The fact that my Dad chose to die under the care of James Terry Court should say it all.
