My father has been at MHA Kenbrook since December 2019. I feel he has been well cared for. Kenbrook does not have the unpleasant smell of most care homes. Whenever we visit my father he is clean and well dressed in ironed clothes. Kenbrook's friendly caretaker helped rearrange my father's room to help
him settle into his new home. We could bring in furniture and put lots of pictures on the walls to make it homely. Kenbrook has a great activities coordinator. It was a while before my father got involved in the activities, often involving music, but now he enjoys them and misses them at weekends when not a lot is happening. The manager of Kenbrook is excellent. She is kind and efficient. She has created a good atmosphere. All staff greet you with a smile; they are respectful and kind. My father has been greatly helped by the chaplain. During the pandemic, the protection of residents and keeping their contact with family has been carefully and pragmatically managed. Food is like school food.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Kenbrook. We must agree your father’s room does indeed look very homely and it’s lovely that he has made the room so personalised, giving the room a real home from home feel. Your father has really started to embrace the daily activities and enjoys the musical activities immensely. The “hokey cokey” seems to be one of his favourites. We have tried to accommodate your father with some requests regarding meals but we are happy to discuss this further so we can work together to personalise every aspect of happiness by providing meals of his choice whilst meeting his dietary requirements. We are happy to discuss this with you at any time. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review of Kenbrook. I shall pass your comments to the team.

I am a very frequent visitor to Kenbrook care home, my wife being a Parkinson's victim. She has been in this home for some two years. I and my relatives continue to be impressed with the high standards of care this home, and it's dedicated staff provide. I have previously suggested that the exemplary
standards of care should act as a benchmark for all other care homes. That view is still this family position, and it is also the view of others I have spoken to at various times. I have no hesitation in continuing to give this home the highest recommendation.

Reply from Marian O' Hara, Home Manager at Kenbrook

Thank you so much for the excellent feedback and recommendation of our home. I will share this with the team. The Kenbrook team always works within MHA values to provide a high standard of care and positive feedback such as yours encourages us all to keep providing this quality of care to all our residents and in doing so maintain the MHA standards. We sincerely appreciate your recommendation and all your efforts made when visiting Kenbrook and we are so happy that you have been able to maintain your visits throughout this difficult time.

My dad has been living at Kenbrook for about 20 months and from the onset has received great support and attention. The staff are attentive and treat each resident as an individual, understanding and meeting their specific needs. I have observed the cleaners, laundry lady, kitchen cooks, handyman,
musical leader, chaplain, activity coordinator, carers, nurses, office administrator, and care home manager basically the whole team working together and pulling in the same direction to provide a welcoming, secure ‘home from home’ environment. Not an easy task but they pull it off with much fun, laughter and love. Clearly, the last few months has been especially challenging for everyone and Kenbrook has faced this with careful thought; following necessary guidelines while doing their best to manage resident's needs and minimize anxiety for all concerned. A huge positive shout out to all. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your review of Kenbrook. We have been very fortunate at Kenbrook throughout the pandemic and our families/relatives have been immensely supportive. Even with your family being such a distance away you have continuously supported your father and all the staff at Kenbrook. Now that you are in the UK we are happy to help you in any way we can and welcome your visits to spend as much time as possible with your father. Your father is a lovely gentleman and it is a pleasure to be able to support him with his nursing and care needs. Thank you once again for your lovely review. Our mum moved to Kenbrook in February this year. The care she has received since the day she arrived has been exceptional. On visiting we have witnessed a warm, caring atmosphere where residents are treated with respect, dignity and kindness. A clear bond has developed between mum and her carers
and she feels safe there.
During Lockdown we couldn't see mum, but we were given photos and videos on Facebook. We could see her joining in the daily activities. We could also see how the staff, during this extremely stressful time, entertained the residents with music, dancing and singing. This was done with endless energy, enthusiasm and humour.
Kenbrook is managed with exceptional dedication and commitment to the residents but also to the families. They are supported by a remarkable team of staff who clearly go the extra mile, showing mutual respect and support towards each other and those in their care.
As a family, we are grateful beyond words to Kenbrook for all you do for mum!

Thank you for taking the time to review Kenbrook. It is hard to believe that your Mother has only been with us since February, she is such a big part of the home and takes her seat in the lounge every day to see what’s going on. Mum always has a smile on her face and joins in all of the daily activities and really enjoys the music therapy sessions. Thank you for your kind words about the team’s dedication and we thank you once again for your lovely review of Kenbrook and your kind words. We shall pass your comments on to the team.

I have continued to be impressed with the constant very high standard of care my partner has received since he moved to Kenbrook nearly three years ago. The minute I set my foot into this home I realised its a very special place. The home is really a home from home! It’s kept immaculately clean and
tidy. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff have revealed their hidden talents turning into hairdressers, barbers, beauticians, etc. ensuring the residents have continued looking their best. Apart from the normal activities like music, baking, gardening , religious services, etc the staff including, the manager, have put on some shows for the residents to the residents great delight!
Lately social distancing visits, wearing PPE have been permitted in the gardens.
During lockdown Kenbrook has ensured that family and friends could stay in touch with their loved ones via Video calls and daily updates on their FaceBook page. This is an outstanding home!

Thank you for your wonderful review of Kenbrook. We have been very fortunate at Kenbrook throughout the pandemic and our families/relatives have been immensely supportive. We thank you for all your support and look forward to welcoming our families back as soon as we can resume normal visits but for now, we shall continue with the socially distanced visits in the garden. We are glad you have enjoyed following the daily activities on our Facebook page and we look forward to seeing you soon.

The Kenbrook Team treated my friend with dignity and respect throughout her stay there. My friend felt comfortable, respected and genuinely cared for. I feel the team went above and beyond to ensure our friend and us (the closest people to family she had), were supported during the end of her life.
Thank you all for being amazing through a very difficult time.

My friend felt safe, secure and well cared for on her first night at Kenbrook. "They are so nice to me" my friend would say. This had been her third care home since coming out of hospital in September 2019. The previous care homes had lacked any empathy. My friend passed away on 28th February 2020 and
the support we had leading up to and after her death was outstanding. The whole team were thoughtful, sympathetic and helpful. I cannot thank the Kenbrook Team enough for their outstanding care and service in the time my friend stayed with them. A special thank you to the management team who helped with all the jargon of paperwork and other services who were hard to communicate with. I just hope there is a Care Home like Kenbrook if I need one!

Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at Kenbrook

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Kenbrook and the team. It is such a shame that your friend could not have come to Kenbrook once her needs became that of nursing, it would have been nice for her to have had more time with us here. She was a lovely lady who we had the honour of assisting in her final phase of life. At least you have happiness knowing that her final wish was fulfilled. We shall pass your kind words on to the team. Many thanks and take care.

Kenbrook House has provided absolutely outstanding care to my mother. Everyone has been wonderful in looking after my mum. From the cleaners and carers to the nurses and management, consideration is unfailingly shown. People have put themselves out beyond their jobs and responsibilities, to be loving
toward Mum and responsive and caring to both my sister and myself. We have been so comforted to know Mum has been given the highest respect and attention at all times. We have appreciated everyone's enthusiasm and warmth and how the manager gave Mum and us so much personal attention and caring throughout, visiting mum every day to monitor her progress herself. I am an Organisation Development consultant and I am used to assessing how places are run. The culture of this home is harmonious and the highest standards prevail at all times, including evenings and weekends which shows that this is a happy ship. If I ever needed such services, this is the place I would choose for myself.

Throughout my Uncles stay, from his arrival on his 102nd birthday on 13th April 2019, until he died on the 1st August 2019, I found that he was treated with respect and dignity and also with love and care by the dedicated staff. On his arrival, the staff decorated his room and baked a cake for his 102nd
birthday, which was much appreciated by his family and friends. The management and staff are very professional and efficient and caring. Whenever we visited Uncle we were always offered tea, coffee and biscuits. We were often there when he was being fed, and the staff were very patient with him, encouraging him to have 'one more spoonful'! The home is beautifully presented, bright and clean without any unpleasant aromas, with lovely gardens either side of the day rooms. Uncle's religious needs and requirements were met by the resident Chaplin, who was very kind and caring. As was the manager, who always greeted us when we visited. She also supplied us with lunch when eight members of Uncle's family gathered to say our goodbyes to him. The manager also gave us breakfast on the morning of Uncle's passing. I have no hesitation in recommending the Kenbrook Nursing Care Home.

Reply from Marian O'Hara, Home Manager at Kenbrook

Thank you so much for this wonderful review of our home and our service of care. It was clear to see your Uncle was loved and treasured by your family; it is sad that he did not get to spend much time here at Kenbrook, but what an achievement to reach the fantastic age of 102 years old. Just goes to prove his strong and determined character. We thank you for your kinds words and recommendation. Please call and see us if you are in the area and you can see the lovely planters from his garden adorning lovely flowers in the Kenbrook gardens when the season arrives. Thank you once again, I shall pass your lovely comments on to the team.

Both my wife and I would like to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to the management and all the staff of Kenbrook Wembley for the care and kindness shown to my wife's step-father.
He spent the last three months of his life at Kenbrook and he passed away in August, aged 102 years, in their care.
We
were both hugely impressed at the kindness shown to him in addition to the high-quality professional care. The kindness and respect was always extended to us and other family members when visiting and was well beyond our expectations.
We wish the staff at Kenbrook had known him when he was a little younger and more able and they could have fully appreciated what a jovial and kind-hearted man he was.
Once again thank you all so very much - we would have no hesitation in recommending Kenbrook Nursing Home to anyone considering care for relative or loved one.
Kindest Regards.

My friend, who is a resident, wrote "I still like it here but I don't get out so often." She is now confined to a wheelchair and can hardly write. She strongly agreed that the staff are kind and reliable and offer her exactly the support she needs in her current situation. I have found them to be very
attentive to her individual wishes and tastes, such as enabling her to play the piano and fostering new friendships with other residents. Considering my friend has dementia, things are as good as can be.

My wife has Lasting Power of Attorney for a resident with moderately severe dementia who has been at Kenbrook since March 2019. Her condition has predictably deteriorated, this is no fault of Kenbrook where she is given every consideration by staff from manager and admin team down to all ranks of nurse
and carer. We would not ask for more considerate or sympathetic care.

My 96-year-old father has severe dementia and very challenging behaviour as a result. The staff at Kenbrook have dealt with him with great patience, compassion, humour and are extremely tolerant and kind. The surroundings are lovely with lots of light, clean and modern furniture and beautiful flowers
and it tries all round to calm and lift spirits. And no dreadful smells.
So I thoroughly recommend Kenbrook. I want to be there myself when the time comes.

My friend came to Kenbrook in March this year and has blossomed since her arrival. Friends who haven't seen her since before she went to Kenbrook have said she looks ten years younger! She has never looked so clean and healthy! They have a resident hairdresser who is brilliant and she has a wash every
morning. Her clothes are spotless as she has her clothes washed and laundered every day. She is eating well and the brilliant nurses make sure she has her medication at the right times. The events manager even emailed me photos when I was away on holiday so I could see she was ok.
The Chaplain is so caring and spends many hours talking to the residents and I have seen her feeding them! The nurses are extremely kind and caring. The staff are extremely professional and loving. I have never seen a cleaner care home and a huge sense of love and caring as you would receive in a close family. It is their 'Home away from home'.

To the Team at Kenbrook, my aunt would have me to say how happy and blessed she was in Kenbrook. A fiercely independent woman who always looked out for others, she found it hard moving into Kenbrook six years ago. Without doubt, she tried the Team's patience and good humour. Yet their undiminished kindness
gradually won her over.
With the Team's encouragement and generosity of spirit, in a communal setting so unfamiliar to her character, my aunt came to find her place in Kenbrook: her place, in her own time and in her own way. In her words, her smiles, and sometimes her forthright manner, she declared: "This is my home and for that I am thankful." Then when it came to say goodbye or as Kenbrook Manager put it, "to turn out the light", my aunt did so still being comforted by your presence. She would have wanted to say: "God Bless you all and thank you."
