Barchester Lynde House Care Home makes the most of pleasant grounds, located by the Thames and with wonderful views, and a versatile interior to provide top quality nursing and residential care, with professionals available round-the-clock and also skilled in care and support for physical disabilities and dementia.

A committed team work hard to ensure that all provision is tailored to the individual, while allowing them to make the most of a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

All staff are carefully chosen and well-qualified to achieve the best standards, with the company philosophy focusing on an attentive service that also supports an active lifestyle. Personal interests are encouraged and there is much to enjoy within the life of the home.

The aim is to meet all residents’ needs over the long-term, living up to a reputation for quality that Barchester homes have earned.

Nutrition is a key aspect of the care provided and an award winning Chef and his team provides first class food, freshly prepared at breakfast, lunchtime and in the evening, seven days of the week.

The room all have ensuite toilets, TVs and are decorated to the highest standard. Residents are encouraged to bring their treasured possessions with them when moving into their new home.

Barchester Lynde House Care Home has looked after me very well in two stages. The first stage was pre-surgery when my mobility was rapidly declining. The second stage was post my hip replacement. I am very happy with the care that I received. Staff were polite and caring. Response to any problems was
good.

I have come to stay in Lynde House for a period of respite while I undergo hospital treatment. The staff are all friendly and have taken the trouble to try and accommodate my needs as I come and go. Meals are generally very good, with the odd exception. The nursing staff have been available for advice
if needed. I have observed that sometimes the residents have to wait longer to be helped to the toilet than is comfortable for them, mainly around meal times when carers are employed to serve meals, clean up meals and feed needy residents, so are stretched thin. Perhaps other staff could be responsible for that. The laundry is very efficient. Overall, a good experience.

All the staff were very respectful and helpful in bringing the residents to the sitting room for the monthly church service, organised by the local church of England church. I had the opportunity to chat with many residents who were happy to be cared for at this him and attended this service arranged
for them.

My uncle is one of the residents of your home. We are very lucky to have found this home. I can't thank all the staff enough for looking after my uncle and our family, especially his wife; they have done above and beyond for my uncle and the family. The cleanliness is something else. The team at Lynde House are amazing. So kind, so lovely, so skilled and caring. I was so impressed with everything - the facilities, the food, the gardens, even Tilly, the beautiful cat! There is a huge range of activities and beautiful places to sit and be. The care team are awesome, and the food

From the day I enetered Lynde House, I can only speak highly of Lynde House. Staff always there for all at all times. All staff are alert and ready to listen - calm and efficient. Food is always edible, variety of choices. Cleanliness is just great. The staff, so, so kind.

I came here immediately after a hip replacement operation, for five and a half weeks have been nursed and cared for extremely well by a competent friendly, helpful group of carers, nurses and administration staff. The facilities are very good and the food is well above the standard I was expecting,
varied, well cooked and presented and of good quality. The rather laissez-faire system with the careing being left largely to help whenever and however they can I found unnerving at first but it works well in practice here.

I moved in 2 months ago, and am here permanently. In general, I am very happy with the facilities and the service. I have really had no complaints but I have realised, especially after conversations with other residents, that consideration should be given to a general introduction when you move in -
times of meals, where things are, who the staff are etc.

Lynde House has a very nice atmosphere and ambience. Staff are friendly, kind and helpful. Everywhere is clean. All the rooms seem to have nice views onto the gardens which are beautifully kept.

Alison McIntosh

As the Registered Manager, I am responsible for the overall running of Lynde House and assisted in this by a great team of staff.


Although from Scotland, I have lived in Richmond for over 30 years. My career has been in two stages; hospital management where I spent almost 26 years working in acute hospitals including Kingston and the West Middlesex Hospitals and Care Home Management at Lynde House where I have been since 2011.


I have had a long interest and involvement in organising and providing services to older people and I have been fortunate enough to put my experience to good use at Lynde House where we continue to strive for improvement in everything we offer and provide for our residents. We consistently achieve great feedback from residents and relatives on the care and services offered, a significant aspect to this being our low staff turnover and the lovely environment both inside the home itself and the grounds in which it is situated.

Smita Patelia

Job Title: Deputy manager

Joined: 2014

Hello, my name is Smita and I am the Deputy Manager at Lynde House. I started my career at Lynde as a Registered Nurse back in 2014, I was promoted to Unit Manager and finally Deputy Manager. My role is to ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care while taking a person-centred approach. I offer support and guidance to all Nurses and carers and work closely with external healthcare professionals. I am also the dementia Champion here at Lynde, I have a great passion for the welfare of the resident's mental health and have been the force behind the success of Namaste Therapy here at Lynde.”


Smita was awarded Nurse of the Y held in March 2024ear for the South of England at the Great British Care Awards

Emma Li

Job Title: Unit Manager

Joined: 2009

Emma is a qualified Nurse/Unit manager here and has worked at Lynde House for 14 years. Emma was Barchester Nurse of the Year in 2016 and for good reason, as she is kind, compassionate and caring to say the least!


Ridel

Ridel Francisco

Job Title: Unit Manager

Joined: 2005

Ridel is a qualified nurse and has been a dedicated member of the Lynde House team since 2005. He was named as the Divisional Nurse of the Year in the 2018 Barchester Care Awards and more recently London Region Nurse Care Assessor of the Year at the Great British Care Awards.


Ridel is known to exercise his vocal cords with a bit of singing much to resident and staff delight!

Ken is our night manager so he is not seen too often during the working day. He is also our Learning and Development lead for our home.

Gitana Norvieseine

Job Title: Life Enrichment Coordinator

Joined: 2010

I have worked at Lynde House since 2010 when I started as a care assistant. In 2011 I was given the opportunity to lead the social activities programme in our home. Within my first year, I was honoured with being shortlisted at the National Barchester Awards in the category of Activities Coordinator of the Year and also won with my team of residents and local school pupils the "Barchester In Bloom best Flower display*.
Today I have a small team who work to ensure our social engagement programmes meet the desires and wishes of residents. I also coordinate the recruitment of volunteers to the home.


I successfully completed my Napa (National Association of Providers of Activities) qualification to level 3. Gitana and her team are excellent at planning and introducing new hobbies, activities and events for our residents to enjoy on a daily basis.

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Joined: 2019

Cristo takes great pride in maintaining our beautiful home and ensuring it is the most comfortable environment for our residents. No job is too big or too small!


Premalatha

Premalatha Puvanenthiran

Prem has worked at Lynde for many years and will become a familiar face to all residents and relatives, especially on the first-floor unit.


Any request is never too much for Prem as she is always there to help. Her care and dedication towards our residents don't go unnoticed by staff, residents and relatives.


Prem is the London Region Nurse of the Year 2024 awarded in March at The Great British Care Awards.

Simran joined us as a newly qualified nurse in 2018 and has developed her skill and expertise over the past 4 years.

Marie joined Lynde some years ago as a care assistant, she has now taken the position of admin assistant and will be the friendly face greeting you at the entrance!


George

George Quarshi

Job Title: Admin assistant

Joined: 2007

George has worked at Lynde for over 15 years. For most of this time, he was our Head of Maintenance but retired from this position in 2020. No sooner required but he was back helping us during the Pandemic with visiting supervision etc.


Recently George became one of the admin team working. In addition, He continues to assist in activities and his Thursday "Cuppa with George" remains a firm favourite with residents. George was recognised in the 2020 Great British Care Awards reaching the finals of the South Division for support worker of the year.

Nikasha Rebelo

Job Title: Activities Assistant

Nikasha works alongside Gitana our activities coordinator to provide the residents with fulfilling and enjoyable day-to-day activities. They work together to provide great live events and entertainment for both the residents and relatives to enjoy all through out the year.

Ella is a dedicated staff member and has been part of the Lynde House team for many years. Her role is to provide an enjoyable dinning experience in our restaurant, as well as providing tea, coffee and baked treats on the trolly service morning and afternoon.

Karen was recently appointed to her new position having previously worked as a general assistant in the home for almost 2 years.
